5 YOU HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS Bro. S. J. Manomohan, Loving greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! We had meditated on the redemptive and saving plan of God for us. The Lamb of God Jesus Christ has fulfilled everything and paid in full on the cross all that is needed for our redemption. In Ephesians 1:5-7 (AMP) For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]. [So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor. When we receive this word in faith, Satan is defeated and we come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation and redemption that God has for us is fulfilled in our life and we become victorious. We can continue to meditate on the blessings and privileges that we receive as a result of the redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ. BLESSINGS WE RECEIVE AS A RESULT OF THE REDEMPTION BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. 1. Because we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb we receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has been given to us because of the redemption on the cross of Calvary. In 1 Peter 1:1-2 (NASB) Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure. When we are redeemed by the blood of the lamb, we receive the right and privilege to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. In the Old Testament when the people made the sacrifice and shed blood the fire of God came from heaven and consumed the sacrifices. When Elijah offered sacrifices, God was pleased and fire came from heaven. When Abraham offered sacrifices, God was pleased and fire came from heaven. So today when the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all our sins, the Holy Spirit of God will come upon us. The Holy Spirit and the blood of Jesus Christ is always in agreement. In 1 John 5:8 (NKJV) And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. The Holy Spirit comes upon us because we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit and the blood of Jesus are always in agreement. So my beloved 5

6 brother/sister wherever there is a true cleansing by the blood of Jesus Christ, there the Holy Spirit will be there. Without the blood cleansing us completely we can never experience the presence of the Holy Spirit. Wherever the blood of Jesus Christ is sprinkled there we can see the Holy Spirit working mightily and touching and changing lives. Those who are cleansed and redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ have the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit. 2. Because we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb we are reconciled to God. In Colossians 1:19-20 (NKJV) For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. We have redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ. Because the blood of Jesus Christ has redeemed us we have peace with God and we are reconciled to God. The blood of Jesus Christ gives us peace and the power of the blood removes all the trespasses that separate us from God and then gives us the experience of being reconciled to God the Father. Those who rebel do not get peace and they are not washed by the blood of Jesus Christ and they are not reconciled to God. But those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ the Lamb of God, and those who have experienced the reconciliation to God the Father can remain peaceful in all circumstances. 3. Because we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb we are cleansed continuously. Because we are redeemed by the blood of the lamb, we are continuously cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Because we are continuously cleansed by the blood of the Lamb, we continue to walk in the light. In 1 John 1:7 6 (NKJV) But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. This is a continuous cleansing process. How can we walk in the light and also get this miraculous cleansing process in our life? When we confess and repent of our sins before Jesus, He is righteous and just to cleanse and forgive all our sins. The blood of Jesus Christ continuously cleanses us from all our sins. Moreover the blood of Jesus Christ has the power to continuously cleanse us and also enable us to walk in the light. This is not once a week cleansing or daily cleansing, but that which takes place every moment of our lives the blood of Jesus Christ continues to cleanse us because we have been redeemed. In Revelation 1:4-6 (NKJV) John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. The blood of Jesus cleanses all our sins and makes us holy. So when God looks at us, He sees no sin in us He sees only the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. We become completely and wholly clean by the blood of Jesus Christ. The blood of the lamb will make us as if we have never sinned. 4. Because we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb we are separated as a vessel of honor. In Hebrews 13:12 (NKJV) Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people

7 with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Since we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, we have been set apart as a vessel of honour for the service of God. In 2 Timothy 2:21 (NKJV) Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Because God loves us He has redeemed us and cleansed us and set us apart for His service as vessels of honour. In Deuteronomy 7:6-8 (NKJV) For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. My dear brother/sister, because we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, we are not our own, we belong to God. We have been cleansed and set apart as a vessel of honour to the Lord. 5. Because we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb we become perfect. In Hebrews 10:14 (NKJV) For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. Because we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, God has made us perfect. The blood of Jesus Christ has washed our sins and removed the hand writing of sins that was against us. Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. God does not remember our sins again. God has justified us. No one can put a blame on us. When we stand before God, He does not tell us about our sins, because all our sins have been washed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Sin has been completely washed. Jesus has made us to be perfect. 6. Because we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb we pass from death into life. The moment we receive Jesus as our Saviour, we pass from our sinful state to righteousness, from darkness into the marvelous light of the Son of God and from death into eternal life by the blood of Jesus Christ. Since we are the redeemed we have passed from death into eternal life. In John 5:24 (NKJV) Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life and also in Acts 26:18 (NKJV) to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me. My beloved brother/sister, since we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ we have eternal life. We have been delivered from darkness into light and from the power of Satan to God. Moreover we have been justified and set into a right relationship with God. In Romans 5:8-10 (NKJV) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Every day God gives us victory and deliverance from the darkness of sin through the blood of Jesus 7

8 Christ. In Colossians 1:12-14 (NKJV) giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. The cleansing by the blood of Jesus Christ and the redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ has transferred us from death into eternal life. Judgment has gone and eternal life has come. When the blood of the lamb was sprinkled upon the door posts of the houses of the children of Israel, we can see that no plague or death could come upon them. In Exodus 12:13 (NKJV) Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. There is judgment for those who are living in this world. But as many as those who have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, they have passed over from judgment into eternal life. 7. Because we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb we have boldness to go to the very presence of God. In Hebrews 10:19-23 (NKJV) the Bible teaches us Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. All the promises in the Bible are for us. The God Who has promised is faithful. Because we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, we can enter into the presence of God with boldness. When we look at the life of Esther in Esther 4:11 (NKJV) All the king s servants and the people of the king s provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law: put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Yet I myself have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days. The commandment was that if anyone entered the presence of the king without his summons, that person will be put to death. But we have good news. God has given us the right to enter into his presence at any time. God has brought us with a price and has redeemed us. So we belong to God. God has given us the Spirit of His Son by which we can at any time approach the presence of God calling Him Abba Father. In Esther 5:1-2 (NKJV) Now it happened on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king s palace, across from the king s house, while the king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, facing the entrance of the house. So it was, when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favor in his sight, and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther went near and touched the top of the scepter. Esther went into the presence of the king boldly, defying the command of the king for the sake of the people of Israel. But we, who have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, can always at any time approach the throne of God with boldness. We just need to come before the presence of God and tell Him our needs. Through the blood of Jesus Christ 8

9 we can boldly come into the presence of God through the new and living way that has been opened for us. In John 14:12-13 (NKJV) Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Once we have come into the presence of God we can always ask anything according to the will of God. God will give that to us. Because God has promised to give that to us. When you receive Jesus into your heart and are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, then you can approach the presence of God with all boldness and make your requests made known to Him and receive miracles from Him. Moreover you can claim the promises in the word of God as your own. 8. Because we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb we get protection, care and victory from Jesus. In Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. My dear brother/sister, because we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ we can overcome the powers of darkness. As the children of Israel were protected from the plagues, we also get protection and care through the blood of the Lamb. No plague can come near us or our dwelling. In Exodus 12:23 (NKJV) For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you. Through prayer by faith you can sprinkle the blood of Jesus Christ upon your life, your family, children, your property and your home and all that you own. In the book of Exodus we read that the children of Israel sprinkled the blood of the lamb upon the door posts and the lintel. Then we can also see that Moses sprinkled the blood of the lamp upon all the things kept in the tent of meeting. In Hebrews 9:19-21 (NKJV) For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, THIS IS THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT WHICH GOD HAS COMMANDED YOU. Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. My dear brother/sister we should pray in faith covering our homes with the blood of Jesus Christ. Understand that we are covered and protected by the blood of Jesus Christ the Lamb of God. So we get the care and protection of the Lord. Moreover through the blood of the Lamb we definitely have victory over Satan. My dearly beloved brother/sister in the Lord, we are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. So we receive all the blessings that belong to us as a result of being redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Yes, we can lead a blessed and victorious life with all confidence and hope. Because we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb these are our rights and privileges the Holy Spirit belongs to us, we are reconciled to God, we are continuously being cleansed, we are separated as a vessel of honor, we become perfect, we pass from death into life, we have boldness to go to the very presence of God, we get protection, care and victory from Jesus. May God the Holy Spirit enable you to be blessed as a result of being redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and to lead victorious lives! Amen. 9

Under the leadership of the Hope in Jesus Ministries a one day Employees Prayer Fellowship was held on the 15 th April, 2015 at the S. C. M. Centre, Pattom. Pr. Anish Mano Stephen delivered God s message and Pr. Aji Justus translated the message to Malayalam. The Holy Spirit revealed the conditions of many people through Pr. Anish Mano Stephen and healed many sick people. Bro. S. J. Manomohan and Pr. Anish Mano Stephen prayed individually for all those who participated in these meetings. 11 Miracles performed by Jesus at the Employees Meeting JESUS REVEALED CONDITION AND HEALED THE PAIN IN MY HAND Because of a pain in my left elbow I was not able to bend or lift my hands. During prayer time the Holy Spirit revealed through Pr. Anish Mano Stephen saying Jesus is healing a person who has pain in the left elbow because of which that person is unable to bend or lift the hands. At that moment the power of God came over me and the pain in my elbow was totally healed and now I am able to bend and lift my hands. All the glory to Jesus! Vimala, Puthukulangara. JESUS HEALED PAIN IN MY LEFT EAR. I was experiencing severe and continuous pain in my left ear. When I get cold the pain will increase. Today during prayer time the Holy Spirit revealed through Pr. Anish Mano Stephen saying Jesus is healing a person who has pain in the left ear. At that moment I experienced the touch of the Lord and I am now totally healed. All the glory to Jesus! Susan, Peroorkada. JESUS HEALED SWELLING IN MY BREAST 2 years back a surgery was done to remove a swelling that came in my breast. Now recently the swelling appeared again. When I went to see the doctor and as he was not available I went to the Centre of Hope, Nedumangad and saw uncle and he prayed for me. Today during worship time I experienced as if a fire was burning. Now the swelling is not there. All the glory to Jesus! Pushpakumari, Puthukulangara. JESUS REMOVED ALL THE BURDENS FROM MY MIND AND FILLED ME WITH PEACE. For the past one month I was suffering from severe mental stress. I came to hear Pr. Anish Mano Stephen after seeing a board regarding this meeting. Today s message from God was a great blessing for me. The Holy Spirit taught me many things which I did not know before. When I was listening to pastor preaching the word of God, at that time itself my heart was opened and all my burdens were removed and I was able to experience great peace. The evil spirit that caused this burden and lack of peace went away and I was totally delivered. The word of God made me glad. Even now I am full of the Holy Spirit. 12 REVEALED MY CONDITION AND THE BLOCK IN MY NOSTRILS WAS HEALED BY JESUS. I had difficulty in breathing because of block in my nostrils for the past several days. Even at night because of difficulty in breathing I used to be awake and sit up. Even today when I was coming in the bus for this meeting I had the block. Today during prayer time the Holy Spirit June revealed through Pr. Anish Mano Stephen saying Jesus is healing a person who has problem breathing through the nose because of block. AT that very moment the block in my nose was totally healed. Now I have no difficulty to breathe through my nose. When Pr. Anish Mano Stephen was preaching the word of God, I was convicted of the deficiency of reading the word and prayer in my life and I prayed confessing that before God. 13 Refresher Programme for Pastors and Evangelists Centre of Hope, Nedumangad, Nettirachira. 29 th April to 2 nd May, 2015 Hope in Jesus Pastors and Evangelists Refresher Programme was held at the Centre of Hope, Nedumangad from the 29 th April to the 2 nd May Bro. S. J. Manomohan, Pr. Anish Mano Stephen, Pr. Aji Justus, Pr. Selvaraj, Pr. Dr. Bobby Moses, Pr. Monish Mano Stephen and Sis. Sowmya Monish Mano Stephen delivered God s message. All those who attended the meetings were refreshed in the Holy Spirit. God helped them to make new decisions and the gifts in many were lightened. 14 Miracles performed by Jesus in the Refresher course I WAS EDIFIED Glory to the name of Jesus! It was in 2008 that I first started coming to the Hope in Jesus church for worship. In 2009 I was able to attend the Institute of Power Evangelism. After that God enabled me to do small things for Him. God in His grace helped me to attend the 2015 refresher course. These days were new experiences for me. I was able to understand in depth about Seraphims, Cherubims and Angelic beings from the word of God. Each and every day God blessed me spiritually and physically. Now I desire to do more and more things for the Lord. Jesus has given me a great desire to pray for those who are burdened and in sickness. God has helped to pray more than before. When I started praying more and more for others and the Hope in Jesus ministry, the Lord started removing the problems in my life. Blessings started coming in my life. Jesus gave me peace and joy in my life. All the glory to Jesus! Sreekumar, Aaryanad. I WAS EDIFIED AND RECEIVED A FRESH ANOINTING Glory to the name of Jesus! God helped me to attend the 22 nd batch of the Institute of Power evangelism. At that time Jesus anointed me with the Holy Spirit and also I was given the gift of speaking in other tongues. Now for the 2015 refresher course my husband and myself we have attended. After this refresher course the anointing in my life and on my husband has increased and I am now able to pray with a burden for other personally and over phone for a very long time and also read and meditate the word of God for a very long time. The Holy Spirit was continuously speaking to me that I should be humble before the presence of God at all times. Jesus was giving answers to all the prayers that I had prayed. Pr. Anish Mano Stephen s classes during the Refresher Programme strengthened me very much. It was a great understanding that Jesus gave me regarding Angels and the 3 Heavens. Now there is a newness in my prayer. God is using us as a family to preach the gospel in many families. God gave me the opportunity to give the gospel to my family members. There were many problems in my life. I was very scared even for very simple things. Now not only am I able to withstand these trials, but Jesus has also completely removed fear from my life. 18 THE SERVANTS OF THE LORD ARE BLESSED June Bro. Monish Mano Stephen Loving greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! In Isaiah 65:14 (NKJV) the bible tells us Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, But you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and wail for grief of spirit. This verse tells us about two kinds of people one, a people who serve the Lord with a glad heart and two, a group of people who do not serve God but who are against God. When we read the book of the prophet Isaiah chapters 63 and 64, we see how the people of Israel repented of their sins in their hearts and how they cried out to the Lord with repented hearts. In Isaiah 65 and 66 we can see how God responds to His people. Those who truly repented got deliverance and salvation and those who rebelled against God received judgment. In the church gatherings of today s age also we will be able to see these two kinds of people the servants of God and those who rebel against God. When we continue to meditate on this we need to examine and see to which group we belong. WHOSE SERVANTS ARE WE? In Romans 10:9 (NKJV) we read that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. But unless we are prompted by the Holy Spirit we cannot say that Jesus Christ is Lord. In 1 Corinthians 12:3 (NKJV) Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. Maybe we can simply say with our tongues that Jesus Christ is Lord. There are many in this world who are like that. But only through the prompting and work of the Holy Spirit will a person be able to truly repent and say truly with their hearts that the risen Jesus Christ is their Lord. My dear brother/sister if you have so for not repented and received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, then receive Him as your Lord and Saviour. Commit yourself completely to love the Lord and to obey the Lord with gladness. Then we will be able to become the servants of Jesus by understanding the desires of Jesus and obeying them. In Isaiah 64:5 (NASB) You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, who remembers You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we sinned, we continued in them a long time; and shall we be saved? God Himself will come to help those who rejoice in doing righteousness and those who remember the ways of God. To be a servant of God is the greatest and highest blessing and honor that we can get in our life. We need to serve the Lord with gladness. When we remember the things we have confessed before God regarding our behavior and conduct, are we really 18

19 God s servants? Or are we having enmity with God? The eyes of the Lord are like blazing fire. The Lord knows those who are His servants. When we surrender to the Son of God completely and become the servants of the Most High God then our life will surely be blessed. THE WAYS OF THE WICKED. In Isaiah 1:2 (NASB) Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth; for the LORD speaks, Sons I have reared and brought up, But they have revolted against Me. Again in Isaiah 65:2 (NASB) I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, Who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts. God is again and again extending His hands towards the rebellious people asking them to come back. God s creation man who instead of praying to God the creator, are walking in his own thoughts and evil ways. God is calling them to repent and to be saved. We might also have experienced this in our life. Maybe God had spoken to us through our spouses, our parents, our pastors or other servants of God, or through the Holy Scriptures or eve our friends. Why should we go into the way of destruction? We might have heard God s voice through many people calling us to repent and return to the Lord and be saved. If we listen to this call of God and repent of our wickedness and forsake your life of sin, then God will surely forgive our sins. But what did the people of Israel whom the Lord was thus calling do? Isaiah 65:2b (NASB) says Who walk in the way which is not good. Psalms 1 clearly says that we should not walk in the counsel of the wicked. But that is the very thing that Israel did. Even though they knew the straight path the path of life, they chose to walk in the wicked way. Again in Isaiah 65:2c (NASB) it is written following their own thoughts. They decided to follow their own wicked thoughts. They rejected the thoughts of God. In Genesis 6:5 (NASB) the bible clearly says Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Again in Jeremiah 17:9 (NASB) the bible says The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it? Again in Matthew 15:19 (NASB) the bible clearly says For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. Even when their own thoughts were full of evil and deceitful, the children of Israel decided to follow them. In Romans 1: 21, 25 it is described regarding such people. Romans 1:21, 25 (NASB) For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. It is this very same thing that we read in Isaiah 65. Instead of worshipping the One true Living God, they worshipped idols in His presence. It is because of this that Isaiah 65:3 (NASB) says A people who continually provoke Me to My face, Offering sacrifices in gardens and burning incense on bricks. My dear brother/sister, we need to examine ourselves to see whose servants we are? Are we walking in the way and counsel of the wicked? Are we becoming rebellious like the children of Israel? God is stretching out His hands and calling for a rebellious people. But we are not like the children of Israel who after hearing the call of God still continued to walk in the counsel of the wicked, but rather repent and forsake our sinful rebellious ways and surrender ourselves completely into the hands of God. 19

20 WORSHIP OF THE WICKED. Disobedient to the word of God and following their own wicked ways and desires the people found out different ways and forms of worship. Instead of worshipping God at Jerusalem where He had asked them to worship Him, they started worshipping God s of trees and bushes. Instead of worshipping the one true God, they started considering the creations as God and started worshipping them. In Isaiah 65:11 (NKJV) But you are those who forsake the LORD, Who forget My holy mountain, Who prepare a table for Gad, And who furnish a drink offering for Meni. In order to receive blessings they worshipped many other gods. We need to remember that this people of Israel were not like other ordinary people. They were chosen of God. They were a people in whose hearts the way and the ordinances of God were given and written. In Psalms 147:19-20 (NKJV) He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel. He has not dealt thus with any nation; And as for His judgments, they have not known them. Praise the LORD! Even though Israel was a people chosen by God, they decided to forsake the word of God and His counsel and to follow their own evil desires and thoughts. My dear brother/sister, what kind of people are we? We need to examine ourselves and see whether we worship the one true God or do we have idol worship in our lives. DECEPTION OF THE WICKED. Those who are living a rebellious life disobedient to the word of God and are in sin are thinking in their hearts that they are not doing anything wrong. There are people who think that they are more righteous than God Himself. Thus the children of Israel who were in wickedness are thus saying to God in Isaiah 65:5 (NKJV) Who say, keep to yourself, do June not come near me, for I am holier than you!. Understand that these are the people who criticize God and the Bible. It was because of this very reason that the children of Israel did not respond to the voice of God. In Isaiah 65:12 (NKJV) Because, when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not hear, but did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight. Why could not the children of Israel say thus speak to us Lord, your servant is listening? Because they were not God s servants. They were servants of Satan. In John 8:44 (NKJV) Jesus speaks to some of the Pharisees and Scribes You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. This is a very simple test to see whether we are true followers of Christ. Whose desires are we doing? Are we doing the will of God revealed in the scriptures? Are we walking in our own desires? On the one hand we can do the will of our Heavenly Father and become His children or on the other hand we can do the will of Satan and become his children. We need to make that choice individually. THE END OF THE WICKED The days are coming when there will be a difference between the children of God and the children of the devil. On that day what will happen to the wicked? Will their idols and false gods come to their help? No, surely they will become partakers of the wrath of God. In Isaiah 65:5 (NKJV) These are smoke in My nostrils, A fire that burns all the day. Again in Isaiah 65:6-7 (NKJV) Behold, it is written before Me: I will not keep silence, but will repay Even repay into their bosom Your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers together, Says the LORD, Who have burned 20

21 incense on the mountains and blasphemed Me on the hills; Therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom. Surely God will give the rebellious generation their just reward. He will surely judge them. In Revelation 20:12 (NKJV) And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. God has written all that we have done while we are in this world. My dear brother/sister, if we have still not believed in Jesus Christ, then today itself believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and become servants of God. If you are already servants of Christ, then rejoice in the fact that God has called you to this high calling. Not only that, this judgment is very personal. It is not an angel who is judging us but God Himself. On the final Day of Judgment, no idol will be able to stand with us. The God who created all things is saying thus to the children of Israel who were walking in rebellion in Isaiah 65:12 (NKJV) Therefore I will number you for the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter. None can escape the Holy God. All the rebellious people will have to stand before the judgment seat of God. GOD S BLESSED SERVANTS. As per the covenant of God with His people, those who break the covenant receive eternal curse and those who keep the covenant receive eternal blessings. In Isaiah 66:22-24 (NKJV) For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me, says the LORD, So shall your descendants and your name remain. And it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me, says the LORD. And they shall go forth and look upon the corpses of the men who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, and their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh. The last verse describes hell. We need to always remember the eternal end that awaits each and every one of us. Either we are with God enjoying eternal life or we are away from God and in hell having eternal death. In Galatians 6:7 (NKJV) Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Only the servants of God are blessed. Who are God s servants? Those who confess with their mouths that the risen Lord Jesus Christ is their Lord are the servants of God. The Lord s servants are those who desire to hear the Lord s will daily and walk according to His will. Those who truly pray Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven are the true servants of God. They are chosen by God and they keep the Lord s covenant. In Isaiah 65 there are seven different words which characterize the people of God My servants, offspring, inheritors, my elect, my people, people blessed by God, a remnant. All the people in the world may not be saved. But God always keeps a remnant for Himself. In Isaiah 10:22 (NKJV) For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, A remnant of them will return; the destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness. In 1 Kings 19:18 (NKJV) God tells Elijah Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him. We can see the same thing in the New Testament. In Romans 11:5 (NKJV) Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. Even if we are in the midst of people working all kinds of wickedness we need to stand for the truth and worship God only. Be a people who are separate, consecrated, holy, believing the word of God, loving God and being a light in this world. God will not destroy His remnant. CHOOSE WHOM YOU WILL SERVE. When the children of Israel were in Egypt, God kept a difference between the chil- 21

22 dren of Israel and the servants of the Pharaoh. There was light in Goshen while the rest of the land had thick darkness. There was life in Goshen while the rest of the land had death. God will yet make a difference. God will make a difference between His servants and the servants of the devil. There will be blessing for the servants of God while curse for the servants of the devil. In Isaiah 65:13-14 (NKJV) Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, My servants shall eat, But you shall be hungry; Behold, My servants shall drink, But you shall be thirsty; Behold, My servants shall rejoice, But you shall be ashamed; Behold, June My servants shall sing for joy of heart, But you shall cry for sorrow of heart, And wail for grief of spirit. Serve the Lord Jesus Christ who came to die for sinners and died for us on the cross and rose up again from the dead and is now reigning in heaven and will soon come to judge the earth. When e comes He will create a new heavens and a new earth for His servants to live in eternal peace. My dear brother/sister, choose life. 25 News Report NEW STUDY OF AMERICAN ATTITUDES TOWARD ISRAEL & THE BIBLE American evangelicals remain among the strongest supporters of the nation of Israel. Most believe God has plans for that nation, both now and in the future. And many of America s preachers say Christians need to support Israel. Those are among the findings of a study of American attitudes toward Israel and the Bible from Nashville-based LifeWay Research. As part of the study, researchers conducted two separate surveys of 1,000 Americans, along with a survey of 1,000 senior pastors of Protestant churches. No piece of literature has had more impact on American culture than the Bible, said Scott McConnell, vice president of LifeWay Research. No country is more intertwined with the ancient biblical narrative than Israel, and evangelical Americans see a contemporary connection with the nation. Researchers found evangelicals see a close tie between God and Israel. About 7 in 10 (69 percent) say the modern nation of Israel was formed as result of biblical prophecy. A similar number (70 percent) say God has a special relationship with the modern nation of Israel. And nearly threefourths of evangelicals (73 percent) say events in Israel are part of the prophecies in the Book of Revelation. While evangelicals remain convinced about a tie between Israel and God s plans, Americans generally are less certain. Less than half (46 percent) believe the formation of modern Israel is a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. More than a third (36 percent) disagree, while 17 percent aren t sure. Americans are split down the middle over whether Jews are God s chosen people as referenced in the Bible, with just under half (46 percent) saying they agree. A similar number (44 percent) disagree, while 10 percent are not sure. And some Americans think God was closer to ancient Israel than to the modern-day nation. About two-thirds (64 percent) of Americans say God had a special relationship with ancient Israel. About 1 in 4 (27 percent) disagrees, while 9 percent are not sure. In contrast, only 48 percent of Americans say God has a special relationship with modern Israel fewer than the 53 percent of Americans who believe God has a special relationship with the United States, according to previously released LifeWay research. About 4 in 10 (39 percent) disagree that God has a special relationship with modern Israel, while 13 percent are not sure. Evangelicals (70 percent) are much more likely to agree than Americans who don t identify as evangelicals (38 percent). Overall, nearly half (47 percent) of Americans believe events in Israel are tied to the Book of Revelation. Forty percent disagree, and 13 percent are unsure. Younger Americans, those 18-24, are less likely (36 percent) to see a tie between Israel and the Book of Revelation than those 45 and older (52 percent). Women (52 percent) are more likely to agree than men (42 percent). Those with graduate degrees (24 percent) are much less likely to agree events in Israel are part of the prophecies in Revelation than those with a high school degree or less (55 percent). Schooling and prophecy both play a role in how Americans view Israel. When asked whether they support Israel s statehood, 42 percent agree, while 35 percent disagree. One in four (23 percent) is not sure. Higher levels of education correlate to higher levels of support for Israeli statehood. Those with a graduate degree are most likely to be supporters at 61 percent, followed by those with a bachelor s degree (56 percent), those with some college (43 percent), and those with a high school diploma or less (31 percent). Slightly more than half of men (51 percent) say they support Israeli statehood, compared to a third (33 percent) of women. Support is also significantly higher among evangelicals (50 percent) than others (39 percent). Supporters are split on the reasons they back Israel. Sixteen percent say the Bible tells them to, and 9 percent say it s because Israel is important for biblical prophecy. Some (13 percent) say they support Israel primarily because Israel is America s best friend in the Middle East. Others say it s because Jews needed a refuge after the Holocaust (11 percent) or because Israel is the one and only Jewish homeland (15 percent). Though the term Zionist is synonymous with believing Jews should have their own state, only 8 percent of Americans claim this label. A third (32 percent) of Americans are not sure whether they are Zionist. Among the most ardent of Israel s supporters are senior pastors of Protestant churches. Most (80 percent) agree Christians should support Israel. About one in 7 (14 percent) disagrees. 25
