5 THE SHEPHERDS FOLLOW THE STAR AND WORSHIP THE BABE AWAY IN A MANGER (please sing a cappella) Children s Choirchimes Away in a manger, no crib for His bed, The little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head. The stars in the sky looked down where He lay The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay. The cattle are lowing, the poor Baby wakes, But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes; I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh. Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay, Close by me forever, and love me, I pray! Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care And take us to heaven, to Live with Thee there. HEROD AND THE WISEMEN FROM THE EAST WHAT CHILD IS THIS What Child is this, who, laid to rest, on Mary's lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, while shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ, the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing: Why lies He in such mean estate, where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear: for sinners here the silent Word is pleading. This, this is Christ, the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing: So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh, come, peasant, king to own Him. The King of kings salvation brings; Let loving hearts enthrone Him. This, this is Christ, the King, whom shepherds guard and angels sing: THE WISEMEN OFFER THEIR GIFTS SILENT NIGHT, HOLY NIGHT Silent night, holy night! All is calm; all is bright Round yon virgin mother and child! Holy Infant, so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace.
