The article deals with the problem of the Freemason (Illuminati) conspiracy, which advanced the political struggle in the USA in the late 18th - early 19th centuries. The first Anti-Masonic movement, related to the Federalists, aimed mainly against the Left and the Democrats, associated with Thomas Jefferson s Republican Party. Provided with considerable volume of revelatory publications the initial anti-freemasons assaults on the secret society resulted in noting eventually. Since 1800 the Jeffersonians began constantly winning presidential elections. The Freemasons were increasing their number and influence in the country at the same time.
