Easter Water At the Easter Vigil water is blessed in which we baptize those newly welcomed in the Church. Those of us who renew our baptismal vows are also sprinkled with this blessed water. Near the baptismal font on Easter Sunday you will find large urns containing the Blessed Easter Water. But every life is meant to be fertile. Every life has the power and the need to nurture new life-if not through bearing and raising children, then through other vital forms of self -giving, building and service. The Church is an extended family of different vocations, each distinct but each needing and supporting the others. Priesthood, religious life and the celibate lay vocations to enrich, and are enriched by, the witness of the married state. The different ways of being chaste and celibate outside of marriage are ways of donating one s life to God s service and the human community. 13 April 5, 2015 Hi everyone! This is the page for St Barnabas Life Teen. I m Peggy Harnisch your youth minister!! Hi Everyone, Happy Easter! When I was a child I remember starting to think about Easter Candy from about February! That was what Easter meant to me. As a teen, I was excited about the school vacation that usually went with it. Don t get me wrong, I still love the candy, and vacations, but let s think about going deeper this year. Mary Magdalene finds an empty tomb and Jesus has risen from the dead. This is the single most transformative event in our faith. Everything people at time knew about death changed in that moment. The resurrection gave us the promise of eternal life and that gives meaning to our faith. The question for us to think about is this - Do I feel transformed today? We ve spent some time during Lent giving things up and praying. Hopefully we are transformed by the act of the Resurrection. We can be transformed in our faith, in how we treat each other and in how we live in our schools. Every day we hear about bad things going on around us, but we have a savior who died and rose for us. How amazing is that! So this Easter season let s live as if we ve been transformed! Have a blessed Easter! ~ Peggy Upcoming Events! Youth Ministry nights: Friday April 10th; 7:00-8:30 school cafeteria Grades 6 12 invited!! If you ve never been here come check us out! Peggy for information!!
