Our Lady of the Snows Cathedral is in the Diocese of Fort Portal, Uganda, where Fr. Titus is rector. This Cathedral church holds over 1500 people and, with the three other priests missioned there with Fr. Titus, they reach out to 37 missions. It is their goal to have Mass at each one of these missions at least once every two months. The roof on this Cathedral church, which was built in 1951, is leaking; the estimate to fix this challenge is around $30,000. I hope you read Fr. Titus letter in the bulletin last week. As mentioned last Sunday, a special collection will be taken up today. Please make your checks out to Saint Stephen Cathedral, but "memo" that it is for Fr. Titus' Cathedral Church! II. Music Ministry Update: When Michael Conley told me in February that he was applying for disability, I asked council and staff to surface names to serve on A Vision of Music at the Cathedral for the Future. We met. We discussed. We evaluated. We recommended. We prayed. Thanks to those who served on this Committee: Susan Augenstein, Cindy Bornander, Judy Carrico, John Calhoun, Matthew Constant, Christy Ellis, Lucy Kurtz, Doris Mattingly, Petra Palmer, Joan Perry, Michael Bogdan, Fr. Suneesh Mathew and I. Michael Conley will officially step down September 15, but SSC will continue to pay him a full salary until his disability benefits begin. On September 15, James Wells will become our Director of Music, and Michael Bogdan will become our Director of Liturgy. III. To be with God is really to be involved with some enormous, overwhelming desire and joy and power which you cannot control, which controls you. God is a means of liberation and not a means to control others (James Baldwin, Nobody Knows My Name ). IV. Michael Conley Update: I have just spoken with Michael Conley, who is still recuperating from congestive heart failure on Monday, June 22. He continues to live with a friend in northern Kentucky where Home Health ministers to him every other day. Michael said to tell you he is improving, and he is grateful for your prayers, love, and cards. His correct address is: 3910 Lewis Circle, Erlanger, KY V. Blessed Sacrament Chapel Picnic is Saturday, August 1, Noon-4:00PM. Folks will be here to sell raffle chances at our doors next weekend. Let s be really generous to our sister parish down the street! In Joy and Hope, Fr. Jerry

VINCENT DE PAUL NEEDS Due to a special need in Lewisport, to which all the local pantries contributed, our parish pantry needs: Pasta/Sauce, canned chicken/tuna, canned vegetables, peanut butter/crackers, canned soups, child/adult diapers, cereals, toiletries, shampoos/soaps/ detergent, and all basic non-perishables. Thank you! WORD OF LIFE Man has a nature that he must respect and that he cannot manipulate at will. It is enough to recognize that our body itself establishes us in a direct relationship with the environment and with other living beings. The acceptance of our bodies as God s gift is vital for welcoming and accepting the entire world as a gift from the Father and our common home, whereas thinking that we enjoy absolute power over our own bodies turns, often subtly, into thinking that we enjoy absolute power over creation. Learning to accept our body, to care for it and to respect its fullest meaning, is an essential element of any genuine human ecology. Courtesy of V.I.S. - Vatican Information Service SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE Congratulations to Ben Rhodes and Kelsey Napper who were married on July 11, 2015, at St. Stephen Cathedral. CATHEDRAL PRESCHOOL The Preschool needs new playground equipment before Fall. All donations are greatly appreciated! And of course, Box Tops will count, too. PEACE If man is not at peace with God, then earth itself cannot be at peace. Saint John Paul II YOUTH GROUP Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs. who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants.the race began. Seeing this, those who were around said They will never make it to the top. As people continued to yell, many tiny frogs got tired and gave up But one continued higher and higher and higher. after much effort this frog reached at the top of the tower. Then naturally rest of the frogs wanted to know how he reached the top of the tower Finally, they understood the frog was deaf. Keep going in life and keep doing good works. There may be occasions, failure in duties, or different things in life that can discourage us, but be optimistic and try to see always goodness in things happening. Thanks to all the kids for coming to the Youth Group last Sunday. Thanks to Deacon Basilio Az Cuc for his presence and insights. Thanks to Donald and Carol Ralph for the Pizza Hut gift cards which helped us to have pizza in our meeting. All the youth will gather this Sunday at 6:00PM at the Youth House. Bring a friend with you. God bless you, and I look forward to seeing you. Fr. Suneesh

Even now we are journeying towards the sabbath of eternity, the new Jerusalem, towards our common home in heaven.eternal life will be a shared experience of awe, in which each creature, resplendently transfigured, will take its rightful place and have something to give those poor men and women who will have been liberated once and for all. In the meantime, we come together to take charge of this home which has been entrusted to us, knowing that all the good which exists here will be taken up into the heavenly feast. In union with all creatures, we journey through this land seeking God, for if the world has a beginning and if it has been created, we must inquire who gave it this beginning, and who was its Creator. Let us sing as we go. May our struggles and our concern for this planet never take away the joy of our hope. In the heart of this world, the Lord of life, who loves us so much, is always present. He does not abandon us, he does not leave us alone, for he has united himself definitively to our earth, and his love constantly impels us to find new ways forward. Praise be to him! Pope Francis, Laudato Si May 24, 2015 Courtesy of V.I.S. - Vatican Information Service A VOCATION VISTA When media and the digital world become omnipresent, their influence can stop people from learning how to live wisely, to think deeply and to love generously. In this context, the great sages of the past run the risk of going unheard amid the noise and distractions of an information overload. Efforts need to be made to help these media become sources of new cultural progress for humanity and not a threat to our deepest riches. True wisdom, as the fruit of self-examination, dialogue and generous encounter between persons, is not acquired by a mere accumulation of data which eventually leads to overload and confusion, a sort of mental pollution.
