Psalm 16:1 2 Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the LORD, You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you. The Family Our life of routine has been far from routine over the past couple of months This season of the year is always a little interesting for many reasons. Our family continues to be on a rollercoaster since growing by two. Each member of the family has been impacted differently, but we all have been greatly impacted. We all believe God called us to go down this journey, and in the end, we have faith this will be worth the journey. We press leaning forward in faith knowing He will give us His wisdom to direct our path. James chapter one gives us instruction to pray with faith and to be father to the fatherless. We ask for continual prayer through this journey. All the kids are doing well. We have taken the homeschool plunge with Walt and Julia; all five kids are now homeschooled. This has added more family time, taken away stress from public school, and Issue increased Gina s work load. Everyone is adjusting well. We love being fluid with school. Amanda finishes high school this year. She is prayerfully considering her next step in her journey. Harrison is a sophomore. He enjoys getting outside and in his woodshop as much as possible. Mia is a freshman. She is learning to play ukulele. Walter is in third grade. He is being stretched in many ways. He continues to deal with his past as we press forward to the future. Julia is in second grade. She is being challenged to step up with school. She enjoys many things girly. Gina and I are doing well. Sickness hit the household hard the first week of January. We continue to learn more about ourselves and our personal relationship with God through the challenges of parenting and ministry. In March, we will celebrate twenty-one years of marriage. We strive to stay connected with the busyness of life.

Our Faith Family Crossroads is now in our eighth year! God continues to allow us to serve and grow. Over the past years, the foundation has been laid in the community for a different church. It has taken a while to plant many seeds of the Gospel through outreach ministries. We believe the harvest is close at hand! Pray for our faith family especially during the cold months of winter. It is difficult to have constancy in meeting together with the bitter cold and snow. Winters are hard here for church. But, we look forward to the spring and new life! James 2:15 17 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. The Lord s Café Winter is a challenging time to open The Lord s Café. Between frozen pipes, snow, and sickness, we have not been able to open as much as we normally would be able. We open for lunch on Monday and Friday during the school year. On Wednesdays, we open for grocery giveaway. Currently, we have been able to host grocery giveaway more than lunch. Our numbers of people coming for food continues to grow; we average one hundred fifteen families a week for grocery giveaway. This is a lot of work, but God is faithful to provide helpers and resources to keep the doors open. We look forward to warmer weather and consistency in a schedule. Please pray for us. We are falling short on resources to make the monthly required bills. Each month, the operation cost of The Lord s Café is $850, this does not include any food or cleaning supplies. In February, we celebrate seven years of having The Lord s Café building. In June, we celebrate seven years of serving lunch with volunteers and donations. Our God is faithful! We are looking for some projects to be completed at The Lord s Café. We have a roof leak in the metal roof. We believe this is coming from around the hood exhaust fans. In addition, we need some HVAC work in the kitchen. Currently, we do not have heat in the kitchen. Our parking lot is another area needing some attention. SEE LAST PAGE FOR AN IMPORTANT UPDATE! Over 1,300 meals were served during the annual Thanksgiving Dinner.

The Learning Center We started back after school tutoring this year. Kidz Korner is open Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each day we average ten elementary students. As pastor, I love being able to work with these kids on a different level. It is funny watching the reactions when report cards go home. It is exciting to see these students strive in school. An additional blessing is helping families have time in the evening instead of stressing over homework. In the coming months, we would like to work on a few projects at The Learning Center. Many of the projects on the radar are major undertaking. These include roofing, increasing insulation, HVAC, flooring, and lighting. All these projects will help make the facility more efficient. Currently, we are having to limit the use of the building because of heating issues. Philippians 4:4 7 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Close to 1,000 coats, handmade hats, scarfs, blankets, and tons of winter clothing have been giveaway before the winter weather hit. Approximately 1,200 Christmas Backpacks Were Given Away In December. Each With A Bible And The Gospel!

The Light Community The goal has been set to start construction at The Light Community during the first week of April! This will be setting up for future construction for the summer and beyond for the tiny homes. In the coming weeks, we will be finalizing house plans and begin the permitting phase of the project. We ask that you pray for favor as we move forward. We would love to have individuals living at The Light Community by the end of summer. We will continue to develop other areas of the property as the tiny homes are being built. The prayer chapel and community areas will be a priority. Plans also include walking trails and benches, picnic areas, gardening areas, livestock areas, digging a pond, and property improvements. Support Crossroads Community Baptist Church In the coming months, we will be changing gears to spring and summer missions. Crossroads Community depends heavily on mission teams staying at The Learning Center. The funding generated through mission teams provides operational dollars to carry on the ministry. If you are looking for a place as an individual, family, or mission team for a place to serve, we still have dates available. Hasty Family Connect: CCBC PO Box 52 Whitley City, KY grantohasty@gmail.com OnlyHeGetsTheGlory.org CrossroadsCommunityBC.org Our family is in our eighth year of being self-supported. Our God is faithful to provide the resources we need to live. Each year, we have individuals and churches who end or adjust their monthly support. This is for a variety of reasons. We continually extend the opportunity to join us in partnership through giving. Simply donate through CCBC and add Pastor Support to the memo line. One goal for 2018 is to purchase our home. Over the past seven years, we have been renting our home from friends in Alaska. This has been a huge blessing! Now, we believe it is time to move forward with the purchase. We are prayerfully moving to a position to buy the house. There are several projects to undertake as we purchase the house including a new roof, and some interior improvements. Join us in prayer over the purchase of the house.

The Lord s Café suffered damage from a ruptured pipe this weekend. We are moving the feeding and food ministries to The Learning Center temporarily. We are awaiting a contact from our insurance claims department. From initial assessments, the laminate flooring in all the dinning room and several sections of sheetrock will have to be placed. We are praying for favor and a quick reopen. Crossroads acquired the property in February On June 6, 2011, the first lunch was served. Since the opening, thousands of free meals have been served to our county each year. All of this has been accomplished through God s favor, volunteers, and donations. We will keep our Facebook updated as developments happen.
