3 ! Series at a Glance for Kid-O-Deo (continued) : The Cast Who are some of your friends? Jesus had friends, too. Even though He chose them carefully, Jesus friends weren t perfect. They argued, made mistakes, and did wrong things. No matter what, though, Jesus was still their friend. Through their stories, we ll see that we can tell Jesus anything. Lesson 2: Sing Out It feels great when someone listens to your story or idea, but not so great if someone doesn t listen. This week, we ll see how Jesus surprised someone by making time for her. Lesson 3: On the Road How do you show someone that you care about them? Give them a gift? Talk about how great they are? This week, we ll see how Jesus showed someone that they were important to Him, just by listening to her story. Lesson 4: Curtains This week, we ll meet up with Jesus and His friends for dinner. We ll see how Jesus treated someone who was mean to Him, and learn just how amazing Jesus love is for every person. Lesson 5: Act II We ve learned a lot about Jesus, but one thing He did is greater than any other. We know Jesus is God s Son, and choose to follow Him, because He gave His life for us. Find out the full story this week, as we celebrate Easter! Lesson 6: All the World Did you know that you re part of Jesus story, too? He has given every one of us a purpose, and a mission, to show others how much He loves them. How can we tell others about Jesus? We ll find out, this week! 3

5 Transition Time 2:00 Do This: 10 minutes after the start of the Adult Service, walk into every Pre-K Room and introduce yourself. Tell kiddos to follow the directions of their room leaders, clean up, line up, and that you will see them in a little bit in the large group room. Know This: You are these Kid-Os experience of church! Your tone, attitude, and actions are forming the way these kids think about God, church, and even people in general. You have the opportunity through what you do and say to create an environment where they feel welcome, included, and valuable! My name is, and I m super excited to be here with all of you! Today we re starting a brand-new, exciting series called! We ll sing, dance, and hear the amazing story of Jesus. Before we start, though, there are three important things for you to learn and remember. They re our Kid-O-Deo rules! Rule #1: When I m talking you are listening! Everyone put on your listening ears, and on the count of three, let s practice listening! Rule #2: Keep your hands and feet to yourself! Do a little clap and place your hands in your lap! Rule #3: Stay in your spot! Let s take our special glue sticks and put some glue on our spot to help us stay in the right place! Wonderful! Those rules are great. They help us pay attention and keep us from distracting others, so we can all have fun. 5

6 Worship 3:00 Let s kick off this musical series with a song. You can stand and get ready to sing and dance with me. Song 1: It s a Happy Day (Auto advance) Series Title Slide: Bible Adventure 5:00 I love singing with you, Kid-O s! You can sit down. In a few weeks, we ll be celebrating a holiday called Easter. We celebrate Easter because of something amazing one very special person did. That person is God s Son, Jesus. Kid-Os, did you know that God made music? He made all the beautiful sounds we hear, and loves it when we make music, too. Since this is a musical series, we need some instruments! Let s see, do you think you could all help me learn how to play some different instruments? YES! Great, what instruments do you think we ll need? Let s find out what the first one is. Drum kit Image Oh, we ll need some drums. Can you show me how to play the drums, by pretending you re playing them? Ready, set, go! Drum Kit SFX Great job! Now that we ve got the drums down, let s see what we can learn when we go on a Bible Adventure! 6

7 Bible Adventure Jingle Do This: Show kids the Bible. Kid-Os, the Bible is a book all about God. One of the most amazing things God ever did was send His Son, Jesus to live on earth. While He was here, Jesus made some friends, who talked with Him, followed Him, and learned from Him. Jesus friends wrote down the things He really said and did, and we can still read about those things in the Bible! Today we get to hear a true story about a time when Jesus friends were afraid to tell Him something. Do This: Get the Bible storybook out and sit down in the chair. This story you are going to hear comes from the Bible, but we use this storybook because the pictures help us imagine what it might have looked like back when the Bible was written. The pictures you see in here are the same as the ones on the screen. Let s get started! Do This: Have kids help you turn the pages on the screen with an exaggerated arm wave. Picture 1: Jesus teaching people Jesus loved to teach people about God. He told stories, talked about what was right and wrong, and sometimes did miracles. Miracles are amazing things that only God can do. Picture 2: Jesus and the disciples in a boat Jesus best friends, the disciples, traveled all over with Him. They learned a lot from Jesus but didn t always make the right choices. Sometimes when they made wrong choices, they tried to hide it from Jesus so He wouldn t know. Picture 3: The disciples talk among themselves Sometimes, the disciples had a question for Jesus, or didn t understand what He said. They tried to hide that from Jesus, too. When Jesus found out, He felt sad. Picture 4: Jesus talks to His friends 7

8 Jesus showed His disciples that He still loved them, even if they had made a wrong choice, or if they didn t understand something He said. He wanted them to ask Him for help whenever they needed to. Series Title Slide: Great listening, Kid-Os! All of us need help sometimes, and Jesus is the greatest one we can ever ask to help us. He isn t upset if we make a wrong choice, or have a question. You are so important to Jesus, and your questions are, too. We ve got a Memory Verse to learn about Jesus, but first, we get to learn another instrument! Can you help me learn the guitar? Guitar Image Let s all rock our guitars in three, two, one, go! Guitar SFX Great job! I think we re ready to move on to the memory verse. Memory Verse 3:00 Memory Verse Jingle (Auto-advance) Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17- When anyone lives in Christ, the new creation has come. This verse is about what it s like when we follow Jesus. Do This: Read the verse from the screen. The word Christ is another word for Jesus. This verse means that when we re living for Jesus, it s like we re new and different from before we started following Him. Since we re being so musical today, let s do something different and sing this verse together! Do This: Practice the verse with the Kid-Os 2-3 times. Sing it the verse to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. 8

9 Know This: The verse with actions goes like this: (Open your Bibles) 2 Corinthians 5:17- When anyone lives (point all around) in Christ (point upward), the new creation (lay back of hand in palm of other hand) has come (point to self). Know This: You can watch Ranger Ron on the volunteer site to practice this verse musically! Great job practicing your Memory Verse, Kid-Os! Worship 3:00 Next, we get to keep on singing with a fun song called 1, 2, 3. Let s sing together! Song 2: 1, 2, 3 (Auto advance) Series Title Slide: Try it Out 5:00 I love worshipping God with all of you, Kid-Os! It s fun to sing about how amazing God is. Next, we get to practice what we ve been learning as we Try It Out! 10 That s a microphone! I think we re supposed to use our voices to make music. Can you sing like an opera singer with me? Ready, set, go! Opera SFX Great job! That microphone reminds me of our Bible Adventure. Do This: Show kids a microphone. Microphones like this one make our voices louder. They re great if you want someone to hear you from a long way away. Jesus friends, though, had some things they were afraid to tell Him. They wanted Him to think they were smart and did everything right, so they tried to hide it if they made a mistake or didn t understand something. Was that a wise choice? NO. No, it wasn t. Series Title Slide: You don t need a microphone for Jesus to hear you. You can talk to Him anytime, and anywhere. We call that praying. You can talk to Jesus about anything, too! Jesus wants to know what you re feeling and thinking about. You can tell Him anything, because He loves you. Kid-Os, if you aren t sure what to do, you can always tell Jesus about it. He will always listen to you, because your voice is so important to Him. If you have a question, you can ask Jesus that, too! Jesus loves to hear what you re thinking and wondering about. The leaders here in Kid-O-Deo care, too! Your questions are so important to us, too. So, the next time you feel afraid, happy, lonely, excited, or sad, tell Jesus about it! He loves you so much and loves when you talk to Him. We have one more instrument to practice before we get to our Big Idea. Let s find out what it is! Be sure to get one of each of these when you leave today! Let s Pray I love singing and dancing with you, Kid-Os! God loves when you talk to him about whatever is important to you, because he cares about you. God will always listen when you talk to him, no matter what time it is, or where you are. Let s talk to God for a moment right now! We ll put our hands in our laps and close our eyes to help us focus on what we re saying to God. If you want to, you can repeat this prayer after me.
