1 Senior Pastor: Steve Carney Associate & Youth Pastor: Ricky King ConneXions & Visitation Pastor: Ruby Harp Children s Pastor: Nikki Rech 760 Farmersville Pike Germantown, Ohio It is here!! Our mission trip to Haiti! There will be 27 of us going on this trip and we will be staying at the new school building near the House of Blessings Orphanage! The team will be rebuilding the walls around the orphanage, as well as, rebuilding a widow's home who is the cook for the orphanage. We will also be doing medical missions as our medical team of nurses will be seeing the children in the orphanage and we will also be participating in vbs. There will also be a prayer team that will be prayer walking the area around the school and orphanage. Someone might ask, Why Haiti? Or even, Why all these mission trips to foreign lands? The short answer would be, Because Jesus commands us to Go! And as Keith Green once said, It should be the exception that we stay! The longer answer is simply that the need is great in Haiti, as well as, Ecuador, Guatemala, Wounded Knee and just about any other place in the third world! Secondly, we need to go in order to truly see the mission that God has called us to and our young people need to see problems greater than their own in order to have a true Christian world view. Finally, we will see our own community in a clearer light and understand our home mission better for having God at work in other cultures so different than our own. We become more excited for God's work at home and abroad as we fulfill the Great Commission and Go into all the world. All of this makes a difference! It makes a difference to the people in Haiti, in the mission team that goes and in our home church and community! We go to make a difference! We go to make a difference NOW! So pray for us while we are gone and partner with us in the great work that Christ is doing around the world and in the hearts and lives of men and women, boys and girls everywhere, and in Haiti Now! Blessings, Pastor Steve

2 Someone has said: A task without a vision is drudgery. A vision without a task is daydreaming. But a task with a vision is the pathway to victory and achievement. (Word For You Today) Do not rejoice that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your name is written in heaven. Luke 10:20 (NKJ) As iron sharpens iron, so people can improve each other. Prov. 27:17 (NCV) As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the contentious of his friend. Prov. 27:7 (NKJ) When you encounter somebody who says you have nothing to offer, be sure to laugh, it s impolite to hear a joke and not laugh. (Word For You Today) God s love is not based on performance. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:10) Jesus is coming ready or not. (John Little) Better to start small than never at all (Travis Inman, Pastor Bedford) The Church where everybody is somebody and Christ is all. (St. Luke Baptist Church Pictorial Directory) This life is not crowned with life, it is crowned with death. Max Lucado A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Prov. 5:1 (NKJ) Suffering makes men and prosperity makes monsters. (D.S. Hover)

3 Skeptical about the usefulness of a small lunch, Andrew said to Jesus, What are [these five loaves and two fish] among so many?(john 6:9). Yet the little lunch in the hands of Jesus turned out to be a huge blessing. So, before you think that you don t have much to offer Jesus, consider this: Edward Kimball, a Sunday school teacher in Boston, decided to visit a young man in his class to be sure he was a Christian. That day he led that man, Dwight L. Moody, to the Lord. Moody, the Billy Graham of the 19th century, had a major impact on Wilbur Chapman. Chapman, a prominent evangelist, recruited Billy Sunday to join in his evangelistic campaigns. In turn, Sunday launched a national ministry that had great results in cities like Charlotte, North Carolina. An organization that started as a result of Sunday s revival invited evangelist Mordecai Ham to Charlotte. In one of those meetings, Billy Graham received Christ as his Savior and later became the most prominent evangelist of our time. When you think you don t have much to offer, remember Sunday school teacher Edward Kimball, who spent a Saturday afternoon reaching out to someone in his class. God has a special way of using routine faithfulness in the small things to accomplish great things! Joe Stowell Today can be a healthy unusual day for you -- and for others -- if you take time to give someone a smile... to express a word of kindness... to lend a helping hand to someone in need... to write a note of gratitude... to give a word of encouragement to someone who is temporarily overcome with problems... to share a portion of your material possessions with others. William Arthur Ward

7 Exercise daily: walk with the Lord. He who angers you controls you. A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. Write your plans in pencil but give God the eraser.
