1 Trinity Tidings Page Trinity Tidings TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH January, 2019 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! MUSIC DIRECTOR SEARCH UNDERWAY: With Wayne Millet leaving Trinity December 30 th to take a new part-time position as Music Director of Gonzales United Methodist Church in Cantonment, we thank Wayne again for his fourteen years of service to God and to our Trinity music programs! The Session has approved our Music Director Search Team: Tom Buck, Co-Chair; Ginger Caro, Co-Chair; Bill Blanchard, Sandy Hamilton, Laura Lawrence, Ed Nickinson, Tasha Yount, and Maicol Parr, Youth. Pete Clark, Personnel Team Chair and Hugh Hamilton, Pastor will serve ex-officio. In the interim until a new Director of Music is secured, Craig McFarren will coordinate the Adult Choir, Tom Buck will coordinate the Hand Bells, Cindy Westberry and Leslie Douglas wil continue coordinating our Children s Choir, and yet to be determined is who will work with our Youth Choir. The job description will be posted online for a national search to secure a full-time Director of Music overseeing our total music program and bringing elements of worship arts to enhance our worship of God. The job description will be posted on our website for you to use in referring people you think our search team should consider. Pray for our search team as well as our singers, our musicians, our leaders as we enter this new phase of worship and music in the New Year! Christian Resolutions for the New Year Like Paul, forget those things which are behind and press forward. Like David, lift up my eyes to the hills from which my help comes. Like Abraham, trust my God implicitly. Like Enoch, walk in daily fellowship with my heavenly Father. Like Moses, suffer rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time. Like Job, be patient and faithful in all circumstances. Like Joseph, turn my back on all evil advances. Like Gideon, advance even when my friends are few. Like Andrew, strive to lead my brother to Christ. -- Biblical Illustrator This year, I resolve to Gain weight. 2. Stop exercising. 3. Read less. 4. Watch more TV. 5. Procrastinate more. Starting tomorrow. 6. Never make New Year s resolutions again. Happy New Year and God Bless You in 2019!
2 Page 2 Trinity Tidings Dear Friends at Trinity, Thank you for the continued prayers and best wishes for good health. I am truly blessed and thankful to have you all in my circle of life. You are very special to me. Your prayers and blessings are greatly impacting my long recovery. Pat Skaggs was so thoughtful and caring about my accident. Receiving the weekly prayer request was very special and close to my heart. You each hold a very special place in my heart. I love each one of you. With love, Tammy Cantrell Dear Trinity Prayer Group, From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers. Your cards have lifted our spirits and deepened our belief in the power of prayer.
