2 Our Pastors We entered 2017 with anticipation to move ONWARDS which included studying the Sermon on the Mount, a summer month at the movies, and went Under Construction, allowing God to remodel our thought life. We also took a step of faith by launching our online campus Sunday mornings at 11am. The results were staggering and consistently lives have been committed to Christ through this medium. Connected to this was our introduction to Concert of Praise events held quarterly at our downtown location with you, our church family, responding with hearts ready to worship. We continue to build on 4 pillars: Weekend Services, Small Groups, Connect Course and serving on our HNL volunteer teams. All 4 pillars are interrelated with the goal to provide balanced doctrine, as well as a place to belong in community and an opportunity to give to the Lord our time and resources. Maintaining prayer as the backbone of our church family remains immovable, whether it s messages preached, the worship we sing, the financial decisions made, missions teams sent, or programs offered. 5 ANGELA s STORY My attitude towards life and people before committing my life to Jesus was disinterested. I just wanted more and more from life but my desires were never in line with my authentic self. It was always what I thought others standards were. I always just wanted to please the wrong people and get their approval. SIU s STORY It started in 2013 when I was in UGM A&D program. Although I met a lot of amazing Christian brothers and sisters, I resisted and did not believe in Jesus Christ. I was proud and strong. I did not stay clean and sober, but He did not stop pursuing me, Praise God. In September 2015 I checked into CCL (A&D program) - I had been in and out of programs for a few years then. This time I was homeless and at the end of myself, I cried to Him and He came to me. Jesus Christ, the good shepherd left His 99 to come find me. I m constantly told now how much more grounded I am, how much more real I am. I feel so much more at peace. My mind is so much more quite. I feel so much more at ease with being single and there s so much less focus on being in an intimate relationship. That focus is now on building godly relationships with others and getting to know God better. I have a real trusting and knowing that everything is going to be fine. I always struggled with commitment and this is the first time I m fully committing myself to Someone. It s Someone so important and I m so blessed. The water is a symbol of cleansing. I really feel this is a metaphor for washing away my past. My brothers and sisters at Coastal Church Strathcona (Crosstown) help me grow in faith, obedience, and love. September 11th will be 2 years sober from drugs and alcohol. Only by the grace of God, undeserved grace. I have so much more I wanna say about my Lord, my Saviour God. I was born to worship Him, made in His image, to be in an eternal loving relationship with Him. My relationship with my God is the most important relationship, nothing else matters if I don t have Him.

8 Family Life A snapshot of our Family Life ministry - reaching families, children, teens and young adults of all ages. Coastal Kids: Highlights From The Year Active Kids Ministry Volunteers Salvations Water Baptisms FAMILY LIFE Coastal Youth A highlight was having Josh Watkins joining the Family Life team in the area of Junior Youth and Senior Youth. We saw immediate growth in the ministry and believe more growth is coming as we continue to reach out to the youth of our city! Young Adults Youth Kids Child Dedication Urban Kids Camp Preschool Average Weekly Attendance KIds (weekend services) Jr. Youth Sr. Youth Summer Regeneration We saw 10 kids give their life to Jesus at Urban Kids Camp! Not only does this camp continue to be a highlight for many kids and families in our church, but the result is a transformation of lives. Kids grow closer in their relationships with Jesus, they make friends, and they get to discover their Godgiven talents through the workshops! 9 2 Connect Life Groups Alpha Freedom Sessions So many Christians from Coastal have worked with or supported me over the years, from business consultants to life group friends who I would not have met otherwise. 10 JESSiCA s STORY Coastal Church has helped me grow in a deeper relationship with the Lord. Sunday s are not just Sunday s. They are a time when we get to be refreshed, renewed, encouraged and strengthened from the Lord Himself. Sometimes we may look like Kramer on Seinfeld bursting through the door sideways with our four kids in tow. But as soon as we slide through that door there is a sense of relief and yay- we made it this is where we want to be. TAMPRIYE s STORY Serving at Coastal has helped me put my trust in God even more with my time and resources. I ve Testimonies learned to put God first despite how busy I am with other things. This has led to balance and a change of perspective on my side. I ve also reaped a lot of the benefits that comes with putting God first. It has also helped to keep me accountable which feeds back into growing my relationship with Him. TIMOTHY s STORY The value of community and spiritual support. Life in the workplace can often feel alienating along with the daily pressures and demands of performance. Yet, I believe that Coastal Church always makes an effort to value who I am regardless of my accomplishments or failures. I know this not only because I have experienced it myself personally, but also through my getting to know the many attendees and volunteers at Coastal Church who hail from all parts of the world and have all types of backgrounds.

This happened many times during the missions trip and while serving on Worship. God reminded me many times that His plans are greater and that nothing is impossible for Him! Grace Coastal Intern

17 Coastal Church 2017 Downtown, Pitt Meadows Crosstown & Commercial I know that God loves me because I feel it everyday. Every morning when I come before Him, I sense His love.
