The Committee approved the 2017 Compensation Program for Pastors with Housing Allowances and recommended approval by Presbytery. 2. The Committee approved the 2017 Compensation Program for Pastors with Manses and recommended approval by Presbytery. 3. The Committee recommends that Presbytery end the call of CRE Gustavo Sanchez to Iglesia Evangelica Presbiteriana Nueva Vida in Malverne as of July 31, The Committee recommended Tracie Saunders be examined by presbytery at their meeting on June 14, 2016 prior to her taking a position as Temporary Supply Pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church, Selden. ITEMS FOR INFORMATION: At its meeting on May 3, 2016: 1. Concerning compensation and benefits for pastors, the Committee approved a recommended increase in the cash aggregate in 2017 of 1.5% 2. The Committee approved an extension of the Designated Pastorate of Rev. Adam Fischer at the First Presbyterian Church of Baldwin from June 15, 2016 to June 14, 2019, at the following terms (full-time): Cash Salary and Housing Allowance, $72,981; Pension and Medical Dues, pension, death and disability, 8,795, + medical, 8,100 (using alternate calculation for member only) = 16,895; Additional Insurance, dental DMO, member, 311; SECA Tax Reimbursement, 5,583; Automobile Expense Reimbursement, church business mileage at IRS standard rate; Pastoral Ministry Expense Reimbursement, 500; Continuing Education Expense Reimbursement, 1,500; Vacation, 30 days, including 5 Sundays; Continuing Education Time, 14 days, including 2 Sundays; Paternity Leave, 2 weeks, per presbytery guidelines; Moving Expenses, NA. guidelines; Moving Expenses, NA. Kally Elliott, Designated Pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside and the New Worshiping Community of Long Beach, effective June 1, 2016, as follows: Cash Salary and Manse Allowance, $58,823; Tax-Deferred Investment, 1,000; Free Use of the Manse (annual fair rental value, 22,800); Full Utilities, heat, electricity, and water (approximate annual cost) 4,360; Pension and Medical Dues (including dependent coverage, 30,754; Additional Insurance, Dental PPO, member and family, 1,633; SECA Tax Reimbursement, 6,577; Automobile Expense Reimbursement, church business mileage at the IRS standard rate; Pastoral Ministry Expense Reimbursement, up to 2,000 for NCD coach; Continuing Education Expense Reimbursement, 1,500; Vacation, 30 days, including 5 Sundays, Continuing Education Time, 14 days, including 2 Sundays; Maternity Leave per presbytery guidelines; Moving Expenses, NA. 2 between the Oceanside Church and the Presbytery according to an agreement worked out by the General Presbyter. The committee followed AA/EEO guidelines. 4. The Committee approved a change in terms of call for Rev. Mary Margaret Flannagan, Designated Pastor at the Presbyterian Church of Sweet Hollow, Melville, effective June 1, 2016, as follows: Cash Salary and Manse Allowance, $48,387; Tax-Deferred Investment 1,000; Free Use of the Manse, annual fair rental value, 26,400; Full Utilities, heat, electricity and water, (approximate annual cost) 3,300; Pension and Medical Dues, pension, death, and disability, 9,132 + medical (using alternate calculation, member only) 8,100 = 17,232; Additional Insurance, Dental DMO, member, 311; SECA Tax Reimbursement, 5,973; Automobile Expense Reimbursement, church business mileage at the IRS standard rate; Pastoral Ministry Expense Reimbursement, 800; Continuing Education Expense Reimbursement, 1,500; Vacation, 30 days, including 5 Sundays; Continuing Education Time, 14 days, including 2 Sundays; Maternity Leave, 8 weeks per presbytery guidelines; Moving Expenses, NA. The committee followed AA/EEO guidelines. 5. The Committee approved the appointment of Rev. Dr. Craig Malbon as Parish Associate at the Setauket Presbyterian Church for the period January 1, 2016, through December 31, The Cash Salary and Housing Allowance total $5,000. There are no other benefits. 6. The Committee approved a request by Rev. John Kloepfer to be added to the Pulpit Supply List, and possibly also consider him as an Interim Pastor. 7. The Committee gave permission for Rev. Kathlyn Ferguson Nealand to labor outside the bounds of the Presbytery of Long Island in the Moravian Church in Staten Island. 8. The Committee approved Rev. James Barnum moderating session meetings and he will share pastoral duties with Rev. Paul Gaug. 9. The Committee approved a request by Rev. Twyla Boyer to dissolve the relationship between herself and the session of Middle Island Presbyterian Church, pending the vote of the congregation, to accept a call to Albion Presbyterian Church in the Presbytery of Genesee Valley. 10. The Committee heard and concurred with Rev. Elisabeth Simpson s request to be Honorably Retired as of October 1, At its meeting on June 7, 2016: 1. The Committee approved Rev. Tammy Rae Keller to serve communion at Remsenburg Community Presbyterian Church this summer. 2. The Committee approved (with 2 abstentions) the sale of the Levittown manse with the condition that the principle be retained for future purchase of a manse. Interest would be applied to current housing costs. 3. The Committee approved (with 2 abstentions) having Rev. Glorya Johnson moderate session meetings at Middle Island Presbyterian Church. 4. The Committee approved the extension of Luz Muller s term as Ruling Elder at Primera Iglesia Presbiteriana Hispana in Brentwood.

3 5. The Committee approved the Ministry Information Form as submitted by Old First Presbyterian Church in Huntington. 6. The Committee approved Gustavo Sanchez accepting a position as organizing Commissioned Ruling Elder at Center Moriches Hispanic New Church Development at the following terms: effective date August 1, 2016; Cash Allowance and Manse Allowance, $38,500; Tax-Deferred Investment, 1,000; Free Use of the Manse (annual fair rental value, 24,000); Full Utilities, heat, electricity, and water (approximate annual cost) 6,000; Pension and Medical Dues, 23,178; Additional Insurance, NA; SECA Tax Reimbursement, 5,240; Automobile Expense Reimbursement, church business mileage at IRS standard rate; Pastoral Ministry Expense Reimbursement, 500; Continuing Education Expense Reimbursement, 1,500; Vacation, 30 days, including 5 Sundays; Continuing Education Time, 14 days, including 2 Sundays; Paternity Leave, per presbytery guidelines; Moving Expenses, unknown; Total cash outlay: $99,918, exclusive of auto and moving expenses. The Committee approved Tracie Saunders as Temporary Supply Pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church in Selden, effective June 15, 2016, at the following terms: Part-time, 20 hours/week; Housing Allowance, 15,000; Tax-Deferred Investment, NA; Pension and Medical Dues, NA; Additional Insurance, NA; SECA Tax Reimbursement, NA; Automobile Expense Reimbursement, NA; Maternity Leave, NA; Moving Expenses, NA. Pastoral Ministry Expense Reimbursement, Continuing Education Expense Reimbursement, Vacation and Continuing Education Time amounts will be submitted by session, as per agreement with the session and COM. The Committee approved membership in the Presbytery of Long Island for Tracie Saunders. ****************************************************************************** STATEMENT OF FAITH REV. DR. TRACIE SAUNDERS I love God. I trust God. I believe in one almighty, all knowing, everywhere present at the same time God. I believe that God is love. God is a spirit, neither male nor female. God is good, full of mercy towards all of creation. The following is my description of God s character: loving, kind, gentle, merciful, forgiving, gracious, patient, and efficient. God is a lover of diversity, different colors, flavors and peoples. God is a jealous God and expects His/Her creation to worship God exclusively. God is the creator of all things. God loved me before He/She created the foundation of the world. God had a plan for me before He/She created the foundation of the world. My purpose on this earth by the grace of God is to worship and glorify God in all that I do: at home, at work, at church, everywhere I go. God is with me always. I bring God wherever I go. God guides me each and every day through the Holy Scriptures that were divinely inspired and written by men. I believe in the trinity, God the Father/Mother (parent), Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are three distinct entities in one, the Holy Trinity. Jesus Christ is my Savior, the Holy Spirit is my Helper, and God is my divine parent. I believe that Jesus Christ is God s one and only son and was with God from before the beginning. God sent Jesus Christ to this earth to save the world from eternal death. God gave

4 Jesus to the world to show us, teach us, heal us, minister to us, and ultimately die for our redemption. Jesus was crucified and suffered a horrible death on the cross to save all of us from our sins. The sacrificial blood that Jesus shed washes away all of my sins. After Jesus died, he went to hell and defeated the devil and got the keys to hell from Satan. Because of Jesus I have victory over death and hell. Jesus represents the extent of God s love, grace, and mercy toward His/Her creation. There is only one way to Salvation and eternal life with God in heaven and that is through faith in Jesus Christ, by the unmerited grace of Almighty God. How one is exposed to Christ is unlimited by the mercy, creativity and omnipresence of our Sovereign God. I am a disciple of Jesus and I was called by God to preach the Gospel. Jesus is the example by which I live and I look to the life of Christ to get answers about how to live my life. Discipleship is the work of imitating and following Jesus by the grace of God and it requires that one learn from the master teacher. I believe in the Holy Sacraments instituted by God and follow Jesus' command to baptize believers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and to celebrate the Lord's Supper as often as I can. In Jesus Christ, God calls people to faith and to membership in the Church, the body of Christ. Baptism is the visible sign and seal of that call and claim on human life and of official membership into the Church. Both believers and their precious children are included in God's covenant love and the baptism of children witnesses to the truth that God's love captures people before they are able to understand, accept and respond in faith. Being washed in the waters of baptism transforms Christian believers into a new life of Christ living in their hearts. By invoking Christ's presence at table in the celebration of the Lord's Supper, through eating bread and drinking wine, we are consuming spiritual sustenance as we remember God's covenant promises of love, peace, wholeness, healing and forgiveness. Our Lord and Savior, before he died on the Cross, was a master teacher and taught the disciples the way to be in his absence. Jesus not only taught them how to pray the Lord's Prayer but also how to be disciples and follow him. Discipleship is a process of consistent learning and growing in Christ. By God's Grace I obtain knowledge of Jesus Christ from the Holy Scriptures and what is revealed to me through the Holy Spirit. I continue to grow my faith in Jesus Christ through praying, studying the bible (Old and New Testaments), singing praises to God, loving people, fellowshipping with other believers and worshipping God. My favorite theme is I can do all things through him (Christ) who strengthens me. (Phil 4:13 NRSV) From before the beginning, God called and created me to be a pastor. I accept this call knowing full well that it is not by my might nor by my power, but only by God s Spirit and power that I am equipped and able to fulfill God s call for my life. The best part is that God is with me always, right beside me, goes before me and follows behind me. God has specifically and intricately guided and lead me to the Long Island Presbytery to be the pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church. My vision is to build up the congregation and lead the church in spreading the Gospel to the community through relationships and discipleship.

By your spirit you call us to varied ministries in the service of Jesus Christ. We praise you for your gifts to your servant Elisabeth, for her faithful proclamation of your Word, her administration of the holy sacrament of Jesus Christ, and her pastoral care and leadership in the church. Grant to her time for nourishment and rest, reflection and rejoicing, and the fullness of your peace. Through the Holy Spirit bless her that we may remember the love of Jesus Christ which unites us in the service of our Lord. In the name of Christ we pray. Amen. The Presbytery of Long Island in granting your request desires to make public acknowledgement of your service to God.
