1 2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. (NKJV) 2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace (favour and spiritual blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship (the communion and sharing together, and participation) in the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. (so be it). (AMP) 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (NKJV) 2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and wellbalanced mind and discipline and self-control. (AMP) I. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit of Power. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 1A. We begin our relationship with the Holy Spirit at conversion when we are born again of the spirit. John 3:3, 5 3 Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 5 Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 1

2 1A. We begin our relationship with the Holy Spirit at conversion when we are born again of the spirit. Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father. 1B. Our conversion is a clash of powers. It is spiritual violence. Acts 26:18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me. 2A. Fear is our biggest enemy. Hebrews 2: Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 2A. Fear is our biggest enemy. Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father. 2 Timothy 1:7a For God has not given us a spirit of fear 2B. Fear is fueled by negative stress and anxieties from living in a fallen world. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. 3A. Therefore, our first experience is to know the Holy Spirit of Power to be redeemed from the clutches of the evil one to have a relationship with God. Colossians 1: He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. 2

3 3B. We then fellowship with the Holy Spirit of Power in our daily living to overcome the evil one and the world. 1 John 5:4-5 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 3C. As we learn to walk and yield to the Holy Spirit of Power, He enables and empowers us to overcome our sinful nature. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3C. Romans 1:4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed B. to empower us to be witnesses of Christ and do what He did. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. II. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit of love. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 1. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit of Love as our Along-Sider - Helper. 1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 4

5 1. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit of Love as our Along-Sider - Helper. John 14: And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 2. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit of Love as our Comforter in our journey in life. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 3. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit of Love Who fills us with Peace. Philippians 4:6-7 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 3. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit of Love Who fills us with Peace. Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. 4. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit of Love Who is the Dispenser of the specific grace of God to us. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. 2 Corinthians 3:6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 5. Therefore, we must be conscious not to grieve the Holy Spirit of Love. Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 5

6 How do we grieve Holy Spirit? Ephesians 4: :4: Give Ground to the Evil One Idolater Unclean Unforgiving Stingy Selfish Continual Anger Sexual Sins Coarse Jesting Malice Anger Bitterness Corrupt Words Wrath Covetous Evil Speaking Steal Not Walking in Love Lazy Unkind Clamor Lie III. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit of Wisdom. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (AMP) 1. Only the Holy Spirit of Wisdom can reveal Father-God and the Lord Jesus to us. 1 Corinthians 2:10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. John 15: 26 But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. 2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord 1. Only the Holy Spirit of Wisdom can reveal Father-God and the Lord Jesus to us. A. True prayer is prayer in the Spirit. Ephesians 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit 1. Only the Holy Spirit of Wisdom can reveal Father-God and the Lord Jesus to us. B. True worship is worship in Spirit and in Truth. John 4: But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. 2. Only the Holy Spirit of Wisdom can give us progressive revelation. Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. (NIV) 6

7 2. Only the Holy Spirit of Wisdom can give us progressive revelation. Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. John 16:13a However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth 3. Progressive revelation comes to us as the Holy Spirit of Wisdom connects with our spirit as our inward witness. Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God WORLD He journeys with us as our inward witness. WORLD He journeys with us as our inward witness. Relationship [Romans 8:14, 16] 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God OUTER-MAN BODY 5 Senses INNER-MAN SOUL SPIRIT Mind Relationship Emotion Conscience Will Discernment B. Conscience [Romans 9:1] I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit WORLD He journeys with us as our inward witness. 4. Therefore, we must be conscious not to quench the Holy Spirit of Wisdom. OUTER-MAN BODY 5 Senses SOUL Mind Emotion Will INNER-MAN SPIRIT Relationship Conscience Discernment C. Discernment [Hebrews 5:14] But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 Do not quench the Spirit. Psalm 51: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. 7

8 Conclusion Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Conclusion John 7:37-39a 37 Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, 8
