2 P A G E 2 PRAYER & EVANGELISM We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard. Acts 4:20 Every time I have the chance to get with my two Grandchildren, I enjoy the sweet fellowship and interaction of playing and talking with them. Also, when I leave them I find myself telling others about what an awesome time I had with them and how great they are!! As WBC searches for our next Senior Pastor, what should we as a congregation be focusing on? My answer is to focus on PRAYER and EVANGELISM. If you love somebody then you talk with them regularly. You don t just talk to someone but you share with them and listen to them many times throughout the day. (PRAYER) And if you love someone and have talked and shared with them then you will be talking about them to others as many times daily as you have the opportunity. (EVANGELISM) Do you want WBC to operate in God s power instead of our power? Do you want to see our community, city and world turned upside down for Jesus? 3 P A G E 3 From the Pastor Search Committee The Pastor Search Committee wants to express appreciation for your prayers and support during our Pastor search. We realize that we could not accomplish this great task without the leadership of the Holy Spirit along with the congregations encouragement and spiritual invocation. Thanks to Kent Harrell for being the voice of our committee and for continuing to provide progress updates to the congregation; he continues to do a great job! The committee has come together in unity and has chosen its top priority pastor candidates. Currently, our task at hand is to contact and evaluate further these candidates as we narrow the search for God s chosen Pastor. Prayers of spiritual discernment remain so important for our church and our committee as well as for the candidate God is grooming for Wrightsboro Baptist Church. 4 P A G E 4 Minister of Students I want to thank all of you who have been praying for our students and for their recent trip to Caswell. Several students made commitments to follow Christ and now we are beginning the discipleship process with them. One aspect that I continue to emphasize is that the Christian life is a journey. Along that journey God uses many people to help us become more like Jesus Christ. Your continued presence in our young peoples lives is vital to this journey. Let me encourage you to take every opportunity to interact with them and show your support for them. As part of a concerted effort by all the youth attending Caswell this summer, we are planning a Hope Party for Saturday, August 19th at Dale and Angela Woodcocks house. Our youth are being challenged to invite their friends so they can hear the message of the Gospel that offers hope to all who will receive it. This would be the next event that I would like for you to be praying for. How can God work through you to bring true hope to someone? 5 P A G E 5 Let me live that I may Praise You. Psalm 119:175 How many of us truly LIVE to praise God as this verse says? The Bible in Psalm 150:6 says Let every living, breathing creature praise God! This year in our Music Camp, we hope to teach our kids ways to praise Him in their lives every day. We will explore all kinds of ways to praise God through music singing, instruments, movements, crafts, Bible stories and all kinds of fun!! 6 P A G E 6 Children s Ministry Happy summer everyone! I am so excited about some changes we are making to our Summer Club this year. We are going to expand our Kids Club to include Parents and Families! We are going to do a Movie Night on Wednesdays at 6:00pm. We will have the movie inside the FLC with popcorn and drinks. I m looking forward to seeing everyone there! Don t forget your lawn chairs and blankets! Also don t forget about Music Camp July 17th thru 20th. And Children s Summer Camp is coming up...july 31st thru August 4th at Camp Caraway! As always, thanks for all your love, prayers and support.
