3 THE AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE NEEDS A RESURRECTION BECAUSE OF THE FOLLOWING Illiterate High school dropouts Unemployed Underemployed Working poor Homeless Gang member Felon Angry Aggressive High energy Short attention span

4 THE ROLE OF THE CHURCH The only way the resurrection of the Black man will become a reality is through the church. Only our lord and savior Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life and has the answer to our problems and the power to heal and prosper us.

5 THE ROLE OF THE CHURCH Only through Jesus will the Black man rise from the dead and take his rightful place as head and priest in the family and leader in the community.

6 THE ROLE OF THE CHURCH We should all be concerned when rappers have a greater influence on our young men than Jesus the resurrection and the life. This is evident by the absence of our young men between the ages of 12-19

7 THE NEW JIM CROW

8 THE NEW JIM CROW In 2006, one of every 3 men were incarcerated and or involved with the penal system. That is more than 1.5 million. Satan is projecting that by 2020 two of every three African American males will be involved in the penal system.

9 THE NEW JIM CROW When families, schools, and churches are dominated and populated by Black women and young men can barely be found, it is a sign that our black men need a resurrection?

10 THE POWER OF RESURRECTION Men are changed by what they experience not by what they are told. Sermons do not change behavior. Satan is not afraid of a sermon. Satan is afraid of the Word. Most believers pimp the preacher and rely solely on the sermon to take them through the week.

11 THE POWER OF RESURRECTION A church full of beautiful Black women will attract a man to the church but will not keep a man in church. Men must be changed by the power of Jesus who is the resurrection and the life. The power of resurrection must be evident in their lives.

13 MALE, BOY, MAN THERE IS A DIFFERENCE There is a difference between a male, a boy and a man. A person is born male. He grows into a boy and boys like to play. Young boys play with cars, and trucks. Old boys play with women and their children. Men are responsible and work before they play. An affair is a sign of the player at work and an escape from reality.

14 MALE, BOY, MAN THERE IS A DIFFERENCE There is a difference between hot forbidden sex in an affair or dating and emotionally connected married sex. One of the ways to avoid an affair is to experience the power of resurrection and to pray for your wife daily.

15 THE FATHER S LEGACY The greatest legacy a father can ever give his child is faith. When you save a man, you save a family. When a child accepts Jesus as Lord, 4 percent of the family will follow. When a mother accepts Jesus as Lord, 17 percent of the family will follow. When a father accepts Jesus as Lord, 93 percent of the family will follow.

16 THE FATHER S LEGACY Jesus did not say go and make workers. He said, go and make them disciples Mt. 28:19 Too often we try to make our men workers and pray for disciples. Have we placed work over worship?

17 I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE When Jesus rose that was Resurrection. When Jesus call Lazareth out after four days, that was a resurrection. Every time a Black man stands up for Jesus and puts down drugs and his negative lifestyle that is a resurrection.

18 I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE A resurrection is the raising from the dead. As believers the old Adam nature is to die and we are to be raised to a new life in the new Adam

19 PERCEPTION One of the biggest challenges facing our men today is getting rid of the perception of who you are based on external images. Wearing designer clothing and name brands have a strong influence on people s idea of their image However that fails to reveal who they were created to be and limitless potential they possess.

20 PERCEPTION Who we are as men is much deeper than what we look like and what we are wearing. There are 9 principles in Galatians that reflect the power in essence of who we are.

22 THE DESIRE TO FIT IN The greatest difficulty is that men do not think enough of themselves, do not consider what it is that they are sacrificing when they follow in a herd, or when they cater for their establishment.

23 SAINT OR SINNER

24 RESURRECTION DETERMINES NEW IDENTITY You are a saint, not a sinner saved by grace. You are either a sinner or you were saved by grace. If you have been saved by grace you are no longer a sinner.

25 RESURRECTION DETERMINES NEW IDENTITY Now this doesn t mean that a saint does not sin, but Christ s sacrifice on the Cross remits us from sin or blots out our sin. There is a distinction between a sin and a saint. One is a noun and the other is a verb. The noun saint determines our identity, while the verb sin describes our behavior in a situation.

26 NEW IDENTITY VERSUS IMAGE When men apply the term sinner to themselves rather than their behavior, this gives them sin privileges. Well you know, I m just s sinner saved by grace. I couldn t help myself because that is what sinners do. I am only human, the devil made me do it.

27 NEW IDENTITY VERSUS IMAGE Just as it has been important for us to evolve from seeing ourselves as Negro or colored to Africans, African Americans or Africans in America, it is even more important in the sight of God to know that we have rights we can come boldly to the throne of grace, not as a sinner but as a saint

28 KNOWING THE FATHER S VOICE-JOHN 10:10 Satan s job is to steal, kill and destroy. Satan stole Job s wealth, killed his family and destroyed his life. God had nothing to do with the evil that occurred to job, but God had everything to do with Job s restoration.

29 KNOWING THE FATHER S VOICE-JOHN 10:10 That is why it is so important to know your daddy s voice. We must become prayer warriors, doing spiritual battle against the enemy, so that he will keep his dirty paws off our lives and the lives of our loved ones.

31 1 JOHN 3:2 There is a reason why so many families have seen generations of divorce, drug addiction, alcoholism, pornography, poverty, depression, and suicide. American spend 23% of their money on debt. We are not talking about receiving anything of value for this payment. We are talking about the interest on the mortgage, the car, the credit cards, and loans.

32 1 JOHN 3:2 Our greatest problem in the Black Church is not Black men it is the fact that men are not debt free. Debt is not God s plan for your finances. Prosperity can t flow to us when we are in debt.

33 PROVERBS 18:21 God framed His world by His words. It is very important to watch what you say. When you are being arrested the police officer reminds you that you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be held against you.

34 PROVERBS 18:21 Jesus teaches us that it is best to pray the Word. Too often at prayer time, people will get on their knees and pay and thank God for their healing then leave church and complain to their friends about their sickness. If God framed the world by His Words, the least we can do is frame our day by His World. Psalm

36 FRAME THE WORLD BY YOUR WORDS If a woman says, I m never going to find a man, they won t. If you say I m always going to be broke, you will. It can be difficult to call those things that be not as though they were when you are broke, sick and without a mate. That is why the natural man can t discern spiritual things.

37 FRAME THE WORLD BY YOUR WORDS If you don t have faith you can t claim what you don t see. If you can believe all things are possible to him who believe you can walk by faith and not by sight.

38 FLESH AND SPIRIT

39 WAR BETWEEN YOUR FLESH AND SPIRIT I looked at my hands.i looked at my feet.when you get saved, your flesh did not get saved. Your breath still smell before you brush your teeth. You still need to shower. The flesh is never satisfied. It wants all the sex, all the crack, all the liquor all the ice cream all the meat, all the cheese, all the wine, all the pizza you fill in the blank.

40 WAR BETWEEN YOUR FLESH AND SPIRIT You are in a war and you cannot win a war if you don t first recognize that you are in it. You need to know your enemy. You need to know what s involved in this war. When you got saved your spirit got saved but not your flesh.

41 ROMANS 12:2 The mind will make the final decision on who will win, your spirit or your flesh. If your mind is not renewed, and if you think 2 hours on Sunday out of 168 hours in a week will be enough to renew your mind you are sadly mistaken. That is why so many Christians are still babes in Christ. It is even worse when Christians only attend church on annual days.

42 ROMANS 12:2 Do you naively think that 2 hours on Sunday will be enough to ward off Satan s attacks via pornography, food, commercials, flirtatious women and men and the latest gadget that costs more than you afford.
