Schonhoff, 66, a resident of Richardson, TX, died on May 11, 2011 after a courageous 17 year battle with stage 4 renal cell cancer. Born on August 23, 1944, to Andrew Henry and Clara Wand Schonhoff, Don was born and raised in Quincy, Illinois before settling his family in Texas. Married on June 25, 1966, to Mary Josephine Kendall, Don was a graduate of Quincy College and Notre Dame Law School. Don spent time with the FBI, before becoming a private investigator for over 30 years. He was an Eagle Scout, an ordained minister, a Eucharistic Minister for St. Mark s Catholic Church, a loving father, and a faithful friend. Don will forever be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary; his brother Richard D. Schonhoff (Lorraine Schonhoff); and his five children Sarah Knight (Aaron Webb) of McKinney, Texas; Matt Schonhoff (Patty Schonhoff) of McKinney, Texas; Chris Schonhoff (Delaine Schonhoff) of Little Elm, Texas; Betsy Schonhoff of Austin, Texas; and Katie Schonhoff of Aledo, Texas. He will also be affectionately missed by his nine grandchildren, Ryan Schonhoff, Alison Schonhoff, Cody Schonhoff, Collin Schonhoff, Jackson Schonhoff, Kaitlyn Knight, Juliet Schonhoff, Mikayla Knight, and Jefferson Schonhoff. The family would like to thank the many caregivers that have walked alongside of us for the past 17 years and the family and friends that have provided unwavering support. Don has touched the lives of many people through his generosity and giving spirit. Those who witnessed his love for Jesus Christ were inspired by his unwavering faith and testimony of God's grace. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, May 15 at 6 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, located at Highway 75 and Exit 38 - Ridgeview Drive in McKinney, Texas, with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Plano, Texas with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Don's name to Hettie Lue Brooks Ministries, Inc., 431 Brooks Lane, Hot Springs, Arkansas Memorials

2 My thoughts and prayers are with you Mary Jo and your children. I can just imagine how Don inspired all of you with his faith, compassion and love. He was always that kind of person. Many good memories fill my mind of HS fun with Don especially during his rendition of the KING in THE KING & I (our HS musical). What fun we all enjoyed being together. 3 and college together. We even had the same major. Don was a good athlete and especially was a good golfer. I have a lot of fond memories of hanging around with him, and of course, later on with Mary Jo. They were a wonderful couple and I always remember our spring break trip to Shreveport, Gulf Port and New Orleans. Also,a group of us guys drove overnight to attend their wedding and that was a memorable event. Don was a very spiritual person and a real family man. My prayers are for Don, Mary Jo and all other family members. May you rest in peace old friend. DON JOHANNES, MAY 13, 2011 So sorry to hear about the passing of one of my most favorite cousins ever! Family celebrations at his parents house in Quincy, Illinois always included a sing-along lead by Don while playing on the piano. Sometimes we all would make up songs as they would pop into our minds. It was always a wonderful time to spend with Don & Mary Jo. Years later, after all their chldren were born and growing up, Don came to my Mom's funeral and helped to lead songs--he knew them better than the musicians at the service! He always had a smile on his face and never said a bad word about anyone. He has faith that very few people can truly possess and he was never at a lack of encouragement for anyone. He was very generous, patient and understanding and a very fine example of Jesus' love. Love you Don. Say "hi" to your Uncle Morrie when you see him in heaven. You could see the love of God on both their eyes. Although a stranger to them, they opened their house for

4 me - they brought me in as one of their own and lavished me with Christmas presents like I had never experienced before. Since, I have had the great privilege and blessing to know and spend time with the whole Schonhoff family. For the past fifteen and a half years Don has been such an important part of my life. He has been the daddy I went to, when in trouble. He never tired of giving a helping hand in which ever way he could, whether it was with his time, resources, insight - what ever was needed, however he was needed, he would be there for me. His guidance, wisdom and love for God, I will never forget. His great insight and intuition is something I have always looked up to, and I will greatly miss it. Love you Don.
