Have you avoided it because you are afraid of discovering the truth about your present state of health? Like our personal physical health, the spiritual health of congregations needs to be assessed and managed so they can continuously grow and mature into all that God desires them to be. What will it take for your church to become a healthier church? Given the realities of your particular ministry setting, how will you begin that process? If you were to start that process today, what would it look like? Small Groups/Bible Study Basics Empty Chairs in Bible Study or Small Group? You Can Fill Them? Jerry Helderman Chair one is empty because a member had a sick child, or the in-laws came. Chair two is empty because people made a conscious decision to stay away. Call Navigating Change Understanding and Leading Healthy Transitions Some change at church results from transitions staff departures, changing neighborhoods, conflict and the like. Some change at church results from noble attempts to reach people far from God. Some change is imposed from the outside a rapidly changing world. No matter the source of change, however, change is almost always difficult. This workshop will offer tools and insights for the effective navigation of change. If you are in any role of spiritual leadership as a vocational minister or layperson, you are invited to join with others in learning to be better agents of healthy change. Guest Leader Travis Collins has two primary roles and serves multiple congregations. First, he is the Director of Mission Advancement for Fresh Expression US. In that role, he encourages and equips congregations to begin new forms of church primarily for those who are not yet members of any church. Second, as a consultant with The Center for Healthy Churches he helps congregations and ministers in key moments such as visioning, conflict and transition. His church consultant role also includes membership in The Columbia Partnership Network.
