The next few weeks are an exciting time for Epping Church, both in terms of opportunity and potential. We have the opportunity to actively participate in a number of outreach ventures, with the potential to not only share our wonderful message, but also to connect and grow in Christ personally. You ll see what we mean later in this newsletter, but we encourage you to take an active part. We urge you all to continue to support and get involved in our series The Last Empire. 2 This Sabbath at Epping 4th May The speaker this week: Pr Christian Copaceanu Elder in charge: Eva Ing Offering: Local Budget This Sabath: Prayer Meeting today with Geraldine Przybylko at 1.45pm Last Empire starting 4:15pm Last Sabbath- Inspire Taken by: Derek Morris For those of you that couldn t make the weekend at Merroo, Dr Morris outlined various aspects of being a Radical Disciple of Jesus. Firstly he shared what Jesus said in Luke 10:2 that, The harvest is truly great, but the labourers are few (or at least that the labouring labourers are few). Then he went on to explain the rest of the verse, therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. With a deeper textual study of this verse, however, it could be read as, therefore BEG the Lord of the harvest to THROW OUT labourers into His harvest. We learned that if we are to earnestly pray this radical prayer that Jesus has asked us to pray, then it needs to begin with YOU and ME. We ourselves must we willing to get thrown out into the harvest. As we enter into the harvest we need radical protection. We need to pray for the protection of God s covering as the battle is real! We need all the spiritual weapons that are available to us because, We do not fight against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age (Ephesians 6:12). As such we need the whole armour of God. Read Ephesians 6: The last challenge was that we cannot keep to ourselves what we have known and experienced ourselves. We are to be radical apostles (meaning those sent out with a message) to share hope and salvation with the world. Jesus said in Matthew 10:8 Freely you have received, freely give. We were reminded over and over that we are like sheep. Sheep are not so strong and not so smart. We need God to give us strength, courage and wisdom. Without Him we are nothing. Saturday service: "Praying in the spirit"- Derek Morris * praying always 'the harvest is truly great' * praying in the spirit 1 thess 5:17-1 other places in the new testimony. Jude verse 20. * pray in harmony with the spirit, praying in the spirit (allow Holy Spirit got join us or we join with the spirit on all occasions) * Rom 8:26- holy spirit helping us in our prayers, helps in our weakness. * Rom 8:31- ' if god is for us, who can be against us?' Heb 5:7- Prayers- intercession (praying for someone else) * pray specifically for people, by name *luke 22- pray in the spirit for all the saints Verse 19- 'pray also for me' - asks that I may open my mouth boldly.. Lambs- are not strong and smart It was great seeing many Epping members attend the weekend!

4 PATHFINDERS From Henry: Hello All, Hope all of you had a good break and enjoyed the holiday. I'm sure some of you will have accomplished lots of personal goals. For the first part, we will be catching up on our folders to make sure they are up to date and if there are any outstanding things to do, please note them down and complete them as soon as you are able. I will have a sheet for your participation in the Vege Cooking series in March and April. Secondly, we will be moving into a different type of activity this term, but mostly around food. You will have to do some cooking and it will involve you bringing some stuff from home and preparing it at church. You will need to compile your recipe book of whatever you make as evidence. So this week we will start of with nutrition and related stuff, then move into the cooking honour and related modules. See you this weekend. PRAYER MEETING- Wednesday Night Thank you for all who attended the prayer meeting. We understand the importance of radical protect as we embark on The Last Empire Series. We ask that you continue praying for all those involved; especially Pastor Daniel, all the attendees, across all of the venues.

I've%enclosed%the%revised%brochure%which%I%adapted%from%the%ICC%website%=%they%have%provided%us%our%own%link.% Epping Church Mission Project Our Goal Our goal as a church is to raise $30,000 to support International Children s Care Sri Lanka. About ICC Sri Lanka In a major initiative to help the project community become self-sufficient, additional land has been cleared for farming. Pumps and tanks will be installed to give year-round water for cash crops and food for the community; a chicken breeding project is being established; brick-making machinery is being re-commissioned and set up for a commercial brick-making operation; a sewing project is being re-started to employ poor single mothers from the community who will make school uniforms and other garments for sale in nearby markets. A commercial centre with bakery, pharmacy, produce market, garment manufacturing, and a micro-finance office is proposed for a development on the main road through the village. A partnership agreement with a nearby private college with agricultural land that is surplus to their needs is being negotiated. ICC Australia will fundraise for the development of this land with mutual benefit for the village community and the school. This will not only provide affordable produce but will utilise up to date methods of cultivation and land care and provide substantial employment opportunities for farm labourers in the surrounding villages. Additional housing for the community is proposed to expand the capacity of the centre and in particular to rehabilitate girls who have been victims of abuse. These young ladies will be able to access vocational training opportunities and find employment in the newly established commercial centre.
