Remind students to practice giving at the Island Church. Explain that giving in real life helps spread the gospel. QUEST: Remind students to listen to the related Bible story online. It shows that everyone has a place in God s kingdom. Challenge students to share the story with a brother, sister, or friend (either by listening to it together or retelling it in their own words). Remind them that teaching about Jesus is an important job in the body of Christ. Give each student who completes the quest 200 online points. Finding Your Place (page 16 in the Middler Teacher Guide) Divide students into groups of two to four, and have them work together to complete the word find puzzle. Award a first-place prize of 300 online points to members of the team that finishes first. Award a second-place prize of 200 online points to every other student whose team completes the puzzle. Explain that just as they worked together to solve the puzzle, God wants the members of His body to work together to tell everyone about Jesus.

(Ask students to think of ways a church uses tithes and offerings, such as paying bills, running the food pantry, buying Sunday School books, and supporting ministers and missionaries.) Encourage students to practice giving at the Island Church and in the real-world church. QUEST: Remind students to listen to the related Bible story online. Challenge them to write a note telling someone about Jesus love and then deliver, mail, or it to that person this week. Give each student who completes the quest 200 online points. Word Search (page 21 in the Middler Teacher Guide) On the front corner of each piece of paper, write point values ranging from 20 to 50. After the group finds and adheres the words to the posters, calculate the total. Award every student that number of online points.
4 LESSON 3 June 21, 2015 What Is Water Baptism? Incredible Islands Bible Story: L4 53 Philip and the Ethiopian Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4 (NIV) PRAYER CATEGORY: Guidance GIVING REMINDER: Explain that missionaries today take the gospel to people, just as Philip did. Offerings help support missionary work. Remind students to practice giving at the Island Church. They should also pray for missionaries and help support them with offerings in real life. QUEST: Remind students to listen to the related Bible story online. Challenge them to interview a Christian adult who has been baptized (such as a parent, grandparent, pastor, or teacher). They should ask that person why they wanted to be baptized and what it was like. Encourage students to pray and think about being baptized. Give each student who completes the quest 200 online points. Symbols! (page 25 in the Middler Teacher Guide) Divide students into two groups, and ask them to brainstorm additional symbols. Give each group a sheet of paper and a pen. Allow one minute for them to list as many symbols as possible. Total the number for the two teams, and award each student that number of online points.

Explain that giving in real life is a way to spread the gospel and help people in need. QUEST: Challenge students to use the Good News Book to explain the gospel to a friend or family member. (See page 40 in the Middler Teacher Guide.) Give each student who completes the quest 200 online points. Zacchaeus ABCs (page 40 in the Middler Teacher Guide) After students complete the Know Your ABCs sheet, have them review the three steps. They are: Admit you have sinned; Believe in Jesus; and Confess Jesus is Lord. Award 150 online points to each student who can recite these three steps or say them in their own words.
7 LESSON 6 July 12, 2015 Forgiving Others Incredible Islands Bible Story: L2 10 Joseph s Rise to Power Incredible Islands Memory Verse: Colossians 3:13 (ERV) Or key in the Radiant Life version of the Memory Verse: Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:13 (KJV) Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13 (NIV) PRAYER CATEGORY: Family GIVING REMINDER: Explain that giving helps spread the gospel. Christians give so that others can learn about Jesus love and forgiveness. Students can get in the habit of giving by practicing at the Island Church. Encourage them to give in real life as well. QUEST: Remind students to listen to the related Bible story online. Challenge them to pray for someone who has been unkind to them. They should also ask God to help them forgive from the heart, and they should tell someone they trust about how God has helped them to forgive. Give each student who completes the quest 200 online points. Route to Forgiveness (page 47 in the Middler Teacher Guide) Award 50 online points to each student who successfully completes the Route to Forgiveness maze. Award 50 bonus online points to the first student who finishes.
8 LESSON 7 July 19, 2015 Being Honest Incredible Islands Bible Story: L1 15 The Ten Commandments So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come. Genesis 30:33 (KJV) My honesty will testify for me in the future. Genesis 30:33 (NIV) PRAYER CATEGORY: Friends GIVING REMINDER: Giving helped Joash and Jehoida take care of the temple. Explain that tithes and offerings today help support the church. Encourage students to give at the Island Church and in real life. QUEST: Remind students to listen to the related Bible story online. Give each student a coin-sized piece of craft foam (or a similar token). Help them write the word TRUTH on it with a permanent marker. Challenge students to carry this in a pocket at least one or two days this week as a reminder of the importance of living and speaking with honesty. Give each student who completes the quest 200 online points. Follow the Lines (page 52 in the Middler Teacher Guide) Give 25 online points to each student who completes the activity.
9 LESSON 8 July 26, 2015 Serving God Incredible Islands Bible Story: L3 34 Jesus and the Twelve Disciples By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:35 (NIV) PRAYER CATEGORY: Friends GIVING REMINDER: Explain that giving is one way to show love for God and others. Remind students to give at the Island Church. Encourage them to practice generosity in their daily lives as well. QUEST: Remind students to listen to the related Bible story online. It tells about the 12 disciples who followed Jesus. Explain that disciples of Jesus should become more and more like Him. Distribute note cards or sheets of paper, and ask students to list ideas for specific kind acts they could do for friends and family members. Examples might include sharing a treat with a friend, doing a sibling s chores, or helping a parent around the house. Challenge them to follow through on at least one of these ideas this week. Give each student who completes the quest 200 online points. Situations (page 59 in the Middler Teacher Guide) Keep track of the number of correct answers for each team. Award 100 online points to the members of the winning team. Award 50 participation online points to the other team.

QUEST: Remind students to listen to the related Bible story online. It tells about Jesus Sermon on the Mount. (Point out that the memory verse comes from the Sermon on the Mount.) Challenge students to ask a parent or trusted Christian adult what it means to seek God s kingdom and His righteousness. Give each student who completes the quest 200 online points. A Widow Finds Help (page 67 in the Middler Teacher Guide) Have students count the number of quiz questions they answered correctly. Award 20 online points for each correct answer.

It shows that the giver trusts God to provide. Encourage students to practice giving at the online Island Church and in the real-life church. Explain that remembering God s faithfulness is a good way to grow in faith. Giant Pictures (page 71 in the Middler Teacher Guide) Ask three volunteers to donate their pictures of Goliath for a game. Secure the pictures to a wall, and label them: 10 Points, 20 Points, and 30. Points. Make the higher-value targets more difficult hit by putting obstacles in front of them or by positioning them farther from the children. Provide soft, foam balls, and allow each student five turns throwing at the Goliath targets. Record each student s score, and award him or her the same number of online points.

Gently caution them that prayer shouldn t be a stunt or a way to show off, but a sincere expression of love for God. Boldly living for Jesus can help others learn about Him, too. Lion Puzzle (page 77 in the Middler Teacher Guide) Before class, create the lion puzzle. Make sure you have more puzzle pieces than students. Write a point value on the back of each puzzle piece (ranging from 50 to 150). Allow each student to find and pick up one puzzle piece until everyone has one. Award each student the number of online points written on the back of his or her puzzle piece. The class may then work together to find the remaining puzzle pieces.
