2 Welcome to Brunswick Reformed Church s worship celebrations. To make our mutual experience more enjoyable today please: 1. Relax - At BRC you can rest assured that you will not be embarrassed, singled out, or put on the spot. 2. Fill Out a Welcome Card - These can be dropped in the offering plate later. The information won t be misused, and will help us know who s been here. It s also a great way to drop a note to, or request a contact from, a staff member. 3. Ask for Prayer - If you have a prayer concern to share, pick up a prayer request form from the cart in back. Give completed forms to an usher or the pastor before the service begins. 4. Know There Are Options for Children - - The small room in the right rear corner has rocking chairs where little ones can be rocked, quieted or nursed. - We have an excellent nursery for ages 0-3 at the far end of our education wing. 5. Join Us for Fellowship - Coffee and juice are served in the fellowship area after each service. Join us and get acquainted. We do ask that you not take drinks into worship with you. 6. Do Not Feel Obligated to Give - If you are a first-time guest, please do not feel obligated to participate in the offering. This is a time when members and regular attendees honor God by giving to his work through this church. Let today be our gift to you. 7. We are a member of the Reformed Church in America, a Protestant denomination that goes back to the Reformation period in Europe when the Church was reformed according to the Word of God. We are a mixture of Christians from many denominational backgrounds, all seeking to grow in our spiritual maturity as we live by faith with Jesus as our forgiver and leader. Thursday: Worship Team rehearsal, 7:15-8:30 p.m. Friday: Shining Stars meet at 1:30 p.m., studying Romans. Saturday: Yoga Reformed meets at 8:00 a.m. in the Worship Area. Next week s Father s Day message, based on Psalm 37, will be, Wisdom from a Graybeard. Communion Class for Kids: Parents: If your child (1st thru 6th grade) is ready to understand the meaning of the sacrament of Holy Communion and you wish them to participate in a Communion Class for Kids, please write the child s name and your phone number on the back of your welcome card. Cathy Poest, the class instructor, will then be in contact with you. The class meets on June 21 & 28, 10:30 a.m. Advance: Consistory meets on Monday, June 22, at 7:30 p.m.

5 Laying down our Pride for Christ 1 Kings 3:3-5 Acts 4:8-12 What are the main points of the message? What will I do differently as a result of this message? Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried, He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

6 VBS Early-Registration is now Who will you invite? July 6-10 Mechanics wanted: Love INC, an excellent local mission agency we support, has a waiting list of clients they would like to help with car repairs. They will provide the parts, but need a few mechanics willing to donate their expertise and labor to make this happen. Most of these situations are critical because a working car means the clients can get to their job, their doctor, the grocery store, etc. If you or someone you know can help, please call and ask for Mike. Attendance last week was 77 & 109. Offerings for May 31 totaled $10,768, and for June 7 totaled $8,253. Prayer concerns: Steve Dickens and family made it home from Seattle in spite of several travel delays; now pray for healing for his broken leg. Rick Demeter has been transferred to Regency Hospital on Engle Road for long-term rehabilitation. Nickey Whited remains in Columbus with her sister, still dealing with anxiety issues. Please continue to pray for those with ongoing health concerns: Bob Beck, Vivian & Bob Cooperrider, Robin Faughner, Nancy Hanwell, Anna Henry, Peg Jenkins, Flora Kostyak, Rose & Bob Murray, Eileen Raich, Dick Read, Gini Reinke, Betty Sweet, Mary & Ted Szenger, Mary Trzop and Nickey Whited. Discipleship: We will continue to develop a wise understanding of God s Word, an ability to discern God s will, and an eagerness to obey God s leading. Faith sharing: With humble confidence we will live out our faith, sharing our stories and inviting others to join us on the journey as we have opportunity.
