Vocational or educational outcomes of the course (Standard 1 for accredited courses) To train pastors, ministry leaders, and missionaries in churches and Christian organizations. 3. Development of the Course 3.1. Industry/enterprise / community needs: (Standards 1 and 2 for accredited courses) The current version of the course is already running and meeting the defined needs of VCI s students. There are no other suitable courses that meet the particular needs of VCI s existing constituency of churches and the existing population of students. Students are church workers, pastors, missionaries. These may be existing personnel who need adequate skills for their positions or persons not yet in ministry who hope to become church workers, pastors, or missionaries in the future. Some students may choose to apply for particular units that suit their needs as ministry volunteers Review for re-accreditation: (Standards 1 and 2 for accredited courses) Course Document V /07776 Version 1, September 2015 The client and industry groups are Christian churches, especially those that accept the qualifications of Veritas College International as pre-requisites for ordination. In particular these are: The Reformed Evangelical Church of Australia Deaf Christian Mission Africa The Dutch Reformed Church of South Africa Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa Other church groups also take Veritas courses. This award is not covered by a Training Package. The Training Packages do not cover specifically religious studies. This course: does not duplicate, by title or coverage, the outcomes of an endorsed training package qualification; is not a sub-set of a single training package qualification that could be recognised through one or more statements of attainment or a skill set; does not include units of competency additional to those in a training package qualification that could be recognised through statements of attainment in addition to the qualification; and does not comprise modules that duplicate the units of competency of a training package qualification. During the last accreditation period, Veritas College International has implemented a continual consultation process that comprised: 1. Validation of assessment 2. Visits with church leaders to discuss course implementation and to gather feedback 3. Visits with student groups to discuss the course and gather feedback 2

Feedback from staff (instructors, assessors, and evidence-gatherers) The feedback resulted in support for the courses as they now exist, although a few minor modifications in assessment tools were suggested. The standards remain the same. No modifications to the units, assessment guidelines or packaging rules were required. 4. Course Outcomes (Standards 1, 2 and 3 for accredited courses) 4.1. They must be able to plan and initiate alternative approaches to analysis of biblical books. direct the application of programs in Christian ministry in varying situations and settings, where they must show judgement in planning and selecting appropriate services and techniques for self and others. Students must plan and initiate of ministry approaches that they adapt to a specific needs that they have to analyse before implementation. Assessment requirements Assessments must meet the version of the Australian Quality Training Framework Standards for Registered Training Organisations in force at the time of assessment. Assessments (including RPL) must: comply with the assessment guidelines lead to the issuing of a statement of attainment or qualification under the AQF when a person is assessed as competent against the unit(s) of competency be valid, reliable, fair and flexible provide for applicants to be informed of the context and purpose of the assessment and the assessment process where relevant, focus on the application of knowledge and skill to the standard of performance required in the workplace and cover all aspects of workplace performance, including task skills, task management skills, contingency management skills and job role environment skills involve the evaluation of sufficient evidence to enable judgements to be made about whether competency has been attained provide for feedback to the applicant about the outcomes of the assessment process and guidance on future options in relation to those outcomes be equitable for all persons, taking account of individual needs relevant to the assessment provide for reassessment on appeal. Other than being consistent with the unit descriptions and competencies, no mode of assessment is a predetermined requirement, and assessments may be done in many ways. Moreover, biblical and ministry units are normally assessed in different ways. For example, biblical units are normally assessed through written tasks, discussion and presentations. Ministry units are normally assessed through observation of tasks done in real ministry situations. No Training Package units are used. Workplace requirements vary greatly from setting to setting, but the use of holistic assessment tasks requires students to meet other incidental local requirements. There are no mandatory workplace requirements as a simulated environment is also permissible. Any simulation must be as close to the real workplace as possible to ensure valid assessment. There are no special arrangements for Recognition of Prior learning, as long as students satisfactorily address all requirements Assessor competencies (Standard 12 for accredited courses) The assessor should hold one of the following: TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor A diploma or higher level qualification in adult education TAE00001 Assessor Skills Set or its successor In addition to the above, the assessor should have: vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed; current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided; and current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs their training and assessment Industry experts may also be involved in the assessment judgement, working alongside the trainer and/or assessor to conduct the assessment. There are no requirements beyond those of the Standards for RTOs 2015 Course Document V /07776 Version 1, September

Delivery (Standards 11 and 12 for accredited courses) 7.1 Delivery mode (Standards 11 and 12 for Accredited Courses) There are no particular delivery modes that must be used. There are no particular limitations to the delivery modes that must be used. It is desirable that distance students have a local mentor. He/she need not be a fully qualified instructor, but should be able to guide the student and minimise the risk of non-completion. The course is designed to be very flexible and to suit students from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, a wide range of denominational traditions, and different kinds of educational backgrounds. The means of assessment can also be varied. For example, deaf students do not find written journals helpful, and the evidence used for their assessment may be gathered through interview. 7.2 Trainer competencies (Standard 12 for Accredited Courses) The trainer should hold one of the following: TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor A diploma or higher level qualification in adult education In addition to the above, the trainer should have: vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed; current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided; and current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs their training and assessment There are no requirements beyond those of the Standards for RTOs Resources (Standard 12 for Accredited Courses) No particular facilities and equipment are required for this course. 8. Pathways and Articulation (Standard 8 for accredited courses) This qualification leads to the Advanced Diploma of Biblical Ministry Students may also articulate to the degree programs of Veritas College International incorporated in the State of Colorado USA. The degree may be the Master of Arts, depending on other educational qualifications held (e.g. a Master of Arts may require that the student also has a bachelor degree.) 9. Ongoing Monitoring and Evaluation (Standard 13 for accredited courses) Veritas College International propose the following to maintain the course s relevance and currency: Reviewing and validating assessments frequently to review the relevance and implementation of the standards Ongoing consultation with stakeholders: client groups (churches and ministry organizations, program managers, instructors) Gathering feedback from students This is to confirm that, if course monitoring and evaluation procedures result in significant changes to the course, then Veritas College International will notify the course accrediting body ( of Western Australia).
