Charter *Call to Worship This is the Lord s Day, the day of wonder and grace. This is the day to worship the One who calls us here. This is the Lord s Day, the day we are given joy and peace. This is the day promised to us, the day of healing and renewal. This is the Lord s Day, and it has come for us here and now! This is the day we gather with hope, with faith, with love! *Hymn 411 Stand Up, and Bless the Lord Prayer of Adoration and Confession and The Lord s Prayer Precious Lord, our mouths open to sing your praise, our hearts turn to you for refreshment. You have formed us in our inward parts, you have knit together body, and soul. Though we may fail you, you will not fail us that is your promise. You offer to us all that we need in strength, joy, and peace, yet so often we are afraid to access them. We turn from your bounty to our crumbs, and so we have nothing left over. Remind us precious Lord that we are resurrection people, nothing can hold us down.

3 So often we forget, and live as if we have no strength, no energy, and no life. A gust of wind and we fall. Empower us once again to be unafraid, strong in ourselves and strong for others, brimming with joy and sharing our gladness, not because things go our way, or because we do not know hard times, but because we have you: our sustenance, our strength, our love. Through Jesus Christ, our saviour, Lord, and friend, who taught us to pray saying: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Hobby Life and Work at Grace Church A Congregational Meeting will follow morning worship today in the Sanctuary to vote for three positions: Lead Minister, Vision, Worship and Discipleship Associate Minister, Children and Youth Associate Minister, Engagement and Service There will be a separate vote for each candidate. There will be a Presbytery Meeting to consider the calls to the three ministers on Thursday, June 28, 7:00 pm, in the Sanctuary at Grace. 6 Today the flowers in the Sanctuary are placed to the glory of God and in loving memory of her mother, Euphemia S. Anderson, by Margaret Anderson. Thank you to Deanna MacGregor for sharing her music with us today. Today the Summer Sunday School session commences downstairs for children age 4 to Grade 6. Once again, Mariko Johnson and Heather-Rose Locken are leading this program through to Sunday, September 2. The remaining 2018 offering envelopes will be available for pick up in the Sanctuary today following worship. Congratulations to Mark and Christine Tuturea following the birth of their daughter, Cecilia Joy, on Wednesday, June 13. Cecilia is a baby sister to Thomas. The Rev. 8 Service Opportunities at Grace English Language Learners (ELL) will be meeting one day a week over the summer, on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am to 12:00 noon. Volunteers are welcome. Self Service Coffee Volunteer Request We continue to request volunteers to assist after the morning service with setup of the self-service coffee stations. We are looking for two or three people to help each Sunday. If you can help, please sign the list posted in the Family Room. Thank you! Complete instructions for setting up the coffee stations can be found in the kitchen. Plans are underway by the Spiritual Expression and Development Committee for the Annual Stampede Breakfast on Sunday, July 8. Volunteers willing to help with set up and pancake flipping are welcome. Spirit Wind RCCO (Royal Canadian College of Organists) 2018 Calgary Organ Festival is happening July 2 to July 6. Grace Presbyterian Church is a host venue on Wednesday afternoon, July 4 for the RCCO College Convocation. We are looking for volunteers to welcome registrants to Grace on July 4. The RCCO sponsors a Student Academy on June 29, 30, July 1 and 2. Students will receive lessons from internationally acclaimed teachers at Grace using both organs in the church on June 29 and June 30. On Sunday, July 1 one student will have the opportunity of playing during our church service. Again, volunteers are needed to help with driving students and hosting students in Grace as they practice and take lessons. In Bangladesh, almost 900,000 Rohingya have settled in squalid shelter conditions after escaping terrifying human rights abuses and violence in Myanmar. Refugees continue to arrive, and the nearing monsoon season puts those living in camps at risk of floods and landslides. Join Presbyterian World Service & Development as we respond to the needs of the Rohingya with Canadian Foodgrains Bank and the ACT Alliance by helping deliver life-saving food packages as well as shelter, hygiene kits, water and sanitation services, and psychosocial assistance.
