1 C.30 (Major) modifications to a departmental curriculum and instruction that have been implemented from a review of students semester exam results [bullet] Major modifications to the school s curriculum are not made solely based on final exams, although that data is considered. The following link is the product of the multiple years of data trends from standardized exams, grades, Diocesan mandates, and other factors. In the and school year based on ACRE scores, survey results, USCCB recommendations, and performance on exams the school began to conform to the USCCB s recommendations. The information below details the Theology curriculum changes, and the service hour requirement changes. Overview: Bishop Manogue Catholic High School will follow the USCCB approved Doctrinal Framework for High School Theology Courses. The six required framework courses will be completed in the Freshman through Junior year of school. Each year will: 1. Have a USCCB approved textbook to match the framework course being taught; 2. Use the Essential Questions, Concepts and Terms, Standards, Guiding Questions, and Challenge Questions from the Archdiocese of Seattle in conjunction with the textbook to provide relevant and engaging lessons; 3. Focus on the section of the YouCat that matches the curriculum being taught; 4. Focus on one of the school s mission tenets; 5. Have a final reflective project related to the learning and applied to the mission tenet of focus. The Senior year will follow the Doctrinal Framework Option D: Responding to the Call of Jesus Christ which focuses on Vocations. Service is the focus of the Senior year. Seniors will work with the Senior teacher and Campus Ministry to select an appropriate service agency in the spring prior to Senior year. Seniors will: 1. Go to Mass every Monday for their class session; 2. Alternate every other week in the classroom and at the service agency; 3. Complete weekly reflections related to the course instruction, service, and the prayer component; 4. Complete weekly online peer interaction related to outside reading; 5. Produce a thesis as their culminating project. Faith Incoming Freshman a. The Revelation of Jesus Christ; Course I b. Who Is Jesus Christ; Course II a.
