3 When this info was subjected to the Inquisition over and over again, it is hard to be able to "cite your sources" easily; but having made this my main topic of research for years now, I can say that this book summarizes the story of what happened to the Essenes and their gnostic branch of spirituality. And it covers enough of the scope of the story, that you begin to see why this info is so volatile to a church system that has hinged it's very existence on the dogma that "since we've concluded Jesus was a son of God and therefore synonymous with God" and "died to save you from Sin, if you'll just follow that dogma". The older spiritual systems, the ancient mysteries, that taught that we are all a part of God and the universe is multi-dimensional naturally were deemed "heretical". How sad, for a world that has always needed more toleration and love, not less!! But, thank heavens, those mystery traditions have survived, and will be seeing some great, altho always tinged with Hollywood glitz, light of day in Tom Hanks new upcoming movie about the DaVinci Code. The filming in historic Roslin Chapel, which has preserved all this history, will be great to see. Great to see the history subjected to the Inquisition over and over again coming to the surface again now in the New Age of Enlightenment, and great that the Quantum physicists are coming on board, saying the same things about our ability to participate freely in our multi-dimensional worlds!!! -- read The Yoga of Time Travel by Fred Alan Wolfe for the scientific backup of a spiritual world view!!-- that doesn't include the old "sin" stuff!! Great book here of what really happened to some of our history, ancestors, and original pythagorean teachings of spirituality, then.. There is always the sense of the familiar when reading books dealing with the bloodline of Christ. The exposition of the real facts concerning the origin of Priory of Sion, as well as the exposure of errors of more recent revelations tend to make one leery of yet another book on this subject. This book provides a good read, and if you are not over fed with the story of the bloodline of Christ, it is interesting, if not quite believable.the story of the development of the Christian religion, as told in this book, is worth reading in any event. Having recently been reading more scholarly works on the Egyptian development of Judaism I found this book gives a good description of the subject. It is worth spending some time reading through in the library, if not buying for reading in your home. I purchased this book after personally meeting the author. After reading this book, I ordered all of the other books written by Mr. Wallace-Murphy. Book is very well written, and is supported by facts. When information is not easily corroborated, author clearly states that upfront. This book will be not a pleasant reading for many people, but those who do, will gain a very valuable knowledge.

4 I enjoyed this book. It may be yet another of those which hold that Jesus was married and had a bloodline before and after his birth stemming from the Egyptian Jews to today but to me it adds to them in information and is easy and interesting to read. More to the point and what seems to have been missed by other reviewers is how the Rex Deus story is relevant to today's Illuminati and even today's pop culture in the use of historic symbols and the adoption by their fans of what can be interpreted as Satanic signs and meanings. It is easy to dismiss this significance as just uninformed public relations nonsense but it shows that the whole Kaballah to New World Order concept is becoming mainstream in young society. The list of stars who have discovered and promote the whole concept now lists Madonna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna as well as the now deceased Prince and David Bowie. These stars are not stupid. They have open and creative minds which many critical scholars in need of "evidence" do not. The spiritual meanings to be found in Rex Deus require imagination but the story not only explains the history of religion but throws light on the charcacters of its personalities, all of whose religions stem from one, and how they interpreted them.i definitely recommend anyone interested in the origins of religion and political power to read this book. I did not read it before writing my own book - The Royal Secret- more recently which I wrote as a thriller novel to attract the general public and in which Shakespeare stars as the missing link between past and present doctrines. However I am pleased to say my book largely concurs with the Rex Deus evidence which I researched quite separately and adds some exciting new info, especially of the Shakespeare connection. The Royal Secret In reading the book "Custodians of Truth" written by Tim Wallace-Murphy and Marilyn Hopkins, I found that their sources were mysterious and UN-named. As an avid history buff and genealogist, I find their wild assertions about various historical figures and their membership in the dubious Rex Deus families to be absurd. With every chapter, they present a parade of famous historical figures or organizations, state without source or reasoning that they are descended from Jesus or his brothers and sisters, and then jump to the next historical period. They present the person (for example St. Margaret of Scotland or Bernard of Clairvaux) and a few accurate and well known facts about the individual. They then proceed to wrap the historic facts in the fictional and unsupported ideas that are the pork of this book. History and genealogy are about sources. If your sources are so shadowed in mystery that they cannot be sighted, your research is non-existent. Hypothetical is too forgiving a word for this story.
