When Jesus chose his apostles and disciples, he chose ordinary men who came from every walk of life. He somehow molded them into a community of brothers who later were to become saints. This communion of saints performed wondrous deeds, but they began as ordinary people. Saints do not come from an elite club who are crowned at the end of the day. They are a combination of gifted and not so gifted people who choose to practice holiness together. In them we see the presence of God s redeeming presence. We are invited to remember and give thanks for those in our lives who have served God and helped us become closer to God. Whom can you name?
