2 Happy Holidays! In a few days, people all over the world will be celebrating the holidays and each celebration will be equally as unique and different as we are individually. But what is the meaning of the holidays? It is a time when most people remember their loved ones both gone and present. It is a time filled with hope, love, charity, and care. A time when families get together even if they can only do so via phone. It is a time when most people remember the months past as we prepare to usher in a new year. With all of this in mind, we here at MCC Toronto want to wish each of you a happy holiday filled with laughter, comfort, joy and love. Thank you for the love shared here in this Sanctuary every week. Though we may not be with you physically on the big day, we are with you in spirit. On December 24 we invite you to join us in celebration at our Awestruck Christmas Eve Service at the Roy Thomson Hall. From all of the staff and volunteers at MCC Toronto we wish you a Happy Holiday! 5 Angel Of The Month The Angels of the month of December are all of the amazing volunteers who have assisted us in every aspect of executing this wonderful Christmas Eve Service. We are Awestruck by your dedication and by the number of you who have given of your time, passion and energy. From those of you who assisted with the different aspects of the actual service, backstage management, setup and take-down of the space, ushers, greeters, to those of you who helped put our program together, we say thank you. Without you this day would not be possible. Service Announcement Sunday December 30, there will be two services at 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. There will be no children s church on December 30. Children are invited to worship with the congregation. Nursery care is available for those 0-3 years of age. Food For Friends Next Sunday December 30 will be the fifth Sunday of the month, which is our Food For Friends Sunday. We will be collecting non-perishable food items to support the People With AIDS Foundation of Toronto.
6 Sacred Readings Jeremiah 17:8 They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green; in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit. These are sacred readings. May they comfort us, inspire us, and challenge us. Buddha The difference between I like you and I love you. When you like a flower you pluck it, when you love it you water it daily. Watch us at
