4 Men s Bible Study. The group, led by Marvin Muhlenbruck, enjoys great fellowship as well as useful time in God s Word. Luther s Small Catechism provides the structure for this study. The group meets in the church kitchen at 9:00 a.m. each week. For the peace from above and for our salvation let us pray to the Lord. Women s Bible Study. The Tuesday morning women s Bible study is studying I Surrender! This study looks at the intimate relationship God desires for His people, and examines how much we need God s grace, mercy, and redemption. All women are invited to take part in this study. For the peace of the whole world, for the well-being of the Church of God, and for the unity of all let us pray to the Lord. St Paul s Women s Guild are collecting clothing for The Orphan Grain Train, and may be placed in the box in the west entry coat rack area until March 17. In addition to clothing (especially summer items and shoes), bedding, education & medical supplies...small hand and garden tools are also needed, also asking for tissue packs and washable markers, and bicycles. Bible Study Note. This week during the Sunday morning Bible study, we begin a new study titled Behold the Man which corresponds to our midweek Lenten services. We will delve into the truth that Jesus, as well as being true God, is true man. This week, we discuss A God Who Hungers. As we have entered into the season of Lent, how is our fasting not only a following of Jesus, but how is it also fulfilled by Jesus? Join us in the Chamber Room from 10:15-11:15. Midweek Lenten Service. This Lenten season, we Behold the Man, the man being Jesus, fully and perfectly human for us. This week s focus is on A God Who Prays. Join us for worship at 6:30. Come early and enjoy fellowship over the meal served in the Fellowship Hall from 5:00-6:15 p.m. Service opportunity. St. Paul will be hosting a concert by the Concert Band of Lake Country Lutheran High School in Hartland, WI. We are looking for people who would be willing to host 2 or more band members following their concert on Friday, March 22. We still need housing for 6 girls and 8 boys St. Paul's Lutheran Chapel, our campus ministry at The University of Iowa, presents Variety! An Evening of Talented Performers and Delectable Desserts. The event will take place at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2301 E. Court St., Iowa City, on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 7:00 PM (doors open at 6:30 PM). All proceeds go to sending our students to the LCMSU National Campus Ministry Conference. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students and children, and it is free for children 2 and younger.
