1 : SEPTEMBER 6, 2015 W ELCOME TO WORSHIP CALL TO WORSHIP Here For You WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS SONGS OF PRAISE You Are Holy Desert Song We welcome everyone in attendance to please register your full name in the black book, located at the end of each pew, and pass it to your neighbor. OFFERTORY PROCLAIMING THE WORD Message Rev. Tim Kriebel Your Job and God Genesis 4:1-7 Who We Are: GOD'S VISION & MISSION FOR US We are an authentic Christian community which is radically loving, outwardly focused, and grace giving! What We Do: We are to seek the lost, restore the broken, and make the wounded whole. COMMUNION: You are welcome to receive communion with us today if you believe that God s Son, Jesus Christ lived, died and rose from the dead and have accepted Him as your Savior and Lord. We do not require you to be a member of the United Methodist Church. In the Methodist Church Communion wine is grape juice. Rice wafers are available for those who are gluten intolerant. PRAYER OF CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, we confess before You today that too often we are rebellious, deciding for ourselves what we will do with our lives and dictating how we will live them, rather than seeking Your gracious will for our lives and surrendering to Your joyous, fulfilling calling.
2 Sometimes we are ignorant of Your call, and sometimes we turn a deaf ear to it, but in either case, O God, we repent! Forgive us our willful pride and our lazy spirits, and transform us by Your grace into the people of God and saints of Christ we are each meant to be, to the glory of Your holy name. 5 Dear Church Family, The desired outcome of 40 Days of Community is to deepen the community within the church and to serve the community around the church. What if we set a goal that there would be 5 new Small Groups as a result of this church-wide undertaking? Now, lets add a zero to that number and we have 50 new Small Groups. What if half of the people in these new Small groups came from outside our church, from among our friends, neighbors, associates and family? That s Exponential thinking. It is thinking that is so big that we are forced to completely depend on God, because we know that we can t reach that number on our own power. It is the type of thinking that stretches our faith This type of faith will take our church beyond the realm of what we have always done. We would literally explode with new renewal, with new revival and new growth. Lets think Exponentially. Believe in Him for more Small groups, Believe in Him for new opportunities to serve our community. Believe in Him to help us connect with those around our church. Believe in Him for more people coming to Christ. Believe in Him for increased attendance and even stronger worship. It all starts with prayer. Have you begun to include 40 Days of Community in your daily prayers? Are you ready? Flowers on the Altar were donated by: Michael & Jeannie Spillane in Honor of their 40th Anniversary and Lane & Jessica (Spillane) Harlan s 12th Anniversary on September 6th. And donated by Vince DiLodovico in Memory of Ann DiLodovico Ministry Opportunities Ushers are needed to serve one Sunday month. Qualifications include a friendly attitude and a desire to meet the congregation face to face. Also, acolytes wanted. Must be at least 10 years old. Needed for five minutes prior to the start of each service and for five minutes at the end of each service. Training will be provided. Please text Margaret King at or margaretking1@msn.com.
