2 LIGHTING OF EASTER CANDLE In Baptism Anica was enlightened by Christ. She has walked as a child of the light and kept the flame of faith alive in her heart. May Christ, the eternal and unfading light, now welcome her into the kingdom of light and peace. The candle to be lit by: Brooke SPRINKLING WITH HOLY WATER In the waters of Baptism Anica was given a share in the life of Christ. May Christ now welcome her into the glory of eternal life. EULOGY PHOTO PRESENTATION ENTRANCE THE INTRODUCTORY RITE Please Stand In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And with your spirit. PENITENTIAL RITE My brothers and sisters, in Christ. We are gathered here today to pray for the soul of our late sister in Christ Anica Orani who died last week. I extend my deepest sympathy to her family and all the relatives and friends. We celebrate this Mass for her living soul, so let us pray to our Father to be merciful to her.

3 Let us now take a moment to reflect on our own sins and ask our Lord for forgiveness. You were sent to heal the contrite of heart: Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. You came to call sinners: Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us: Lord have mercy. Lord, have mercy. May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life. COLLECT Let us pray. O God, almighty Father, our faith professes that your Son died and rose again; mercifully grant, that through this mystery your servant Anica, who has fallen asleep in Christ, may rejoice to rise again through him. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. LITURGY OF THE WORD Please be seated FIRST READING read by: Tammy Hewitt A Reading from the letter of Paul to the Romans. (Rom 6: 3-4, 3-9) Let us walk in newness of Life. When we were baptised in Christ Jesus we were baptised in his death; In other words, when we were baptised we went into the tomb with him and joined him in death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father s glory, we too might live a new life. But we believed that having died with Christ we shall return to life with him: Christ, as we know, having been raised from the dead will never die again. Death has no power over him any more. You know the way to the place where I am going. Thomas said Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus said: I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. Our sister, Anica, was given the promise of eternal life in baptism; Lord, give her communion with your saints forever. Lord, hear us. Lord, hear our prayer.

7 Prayer over the Offerings All Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God the Almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of His name, for our good and the good of all His holy Church. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME. The mystery of faith. When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, until you come again. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. We humbly pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Francis, our Pope and Denis, our Bishop, and all the clergy. Remember your servant Anica, whom you have called From this world to yourself. Grant that she who was united with your Son In a death like his, may also be one with him in his Resurrection. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the light of your face.

9 All Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the Blessed Apostles, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ. Through Him, and with Him, and in Him, O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles: Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and

Let us offer one another the sign of peace. May this mingling of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ bring eternal life to us who receive it. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. COMMUNION (Now we will have Communion. Only those who practice Catholic faith may come forward to receive Communion. Those who want to receive a blessing cross your hands on your chest and come forward.) PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION Please Stand Lord God, whose Son left us in the Sacrament of his Body, food for the journey, mercifully grant that, strengthened by it, our sister Anica may come to the eternal table of Christ. Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

11 FINAL COMMENDATION AND FAREWELL With faith in Jesus Christ, we reverently bring the body of our sister to be buried in its human imperfection. Let us pray, with confidence, to God, who gives life to all things, that he will raise up this mortal body, to the perfection and company of saints. May God give her, a merciful judgement and forgive all her sins. May Christ, the Good Shepherd, lead her safely home to be at peace with God our Father. And may she be happy for ever with all the saints in the presence of the eternal King. (Coffin is now blessed with holy water and incensed) Saints of God, come to her aid! Come to meet her angels of the Lord! Receive her soul and present her to God, the Most High. May Christ who called you, take you to himself: may angels lead you to Abraham s side. Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High. Give her eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on her for ever. Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High. Father, into your hands we commend our sister. We are confident that, with all who have died with Christ, she will be raised to life on the last day and live with Christ for ever. Lord hear our prayer: welcome our sister to paradise and help us to comfort each other with the assurance of our faith through Christ our Lord. May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs come to welcome you and take you to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem.
