GABRIEL CHURCH 5:00 PM YOUNG ADULTS MASS All young adults: middle school, high school and college age are encouraged to come to a celebration of Mass with your peers. Open your self to feel a sense of purpose in your life, a reason to continue to share your life with others in a positive way and to strengthen your spiritual relationship with God. You feed your body and mind feed your soul too. This month, after years of study, 2 men are scheduled to be ordained to the priesthood. During the years of preparation for their vocation, they were supported by family and friends and by everyone who made a gift to the Archbishop s Annual Appeal. When you make a gift to the Appeal, you help meet the cost of priestly formation and education. Please support our seminarians by making a gift to the Appeal today. Holy Family Retreat: Please consider joining the men of St. Damien of Molokai (St. Gabriel and St. Joseph) for our annual retreat at Holy Family June 8 through June 10, This year s theme is Grace Enough. In celebration of Pentecost Sunday, all parishioners are encouraged to wear RED clothing on Sunday, May 20th. Pentecost is a Christian holy day that celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit 40 days after Easter. We acknowledge the apostles were celebrating this Jewish harvest festival when the Holy Spirit descended on them. It sounded like a very strong wind, and it looked like tongues of fire. Please remember those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith, especially, Dorothy Claughsey, Geraldine Cockayne, Mary Drost, Patricia (Lickwar) Esho, William Lindsay, Anna Rogovich, and Anthony Toce. 4 Messages from Social Action Monthly Food Collection Bags are available this weekend for the May food collection. The Windsor Food Bank has requested pudding cups, snack-size packages of cookies and crackers, fruit cups, microwavable meals, and paper goods for this month s collection. Camp Hispaniola Social Action is sponsoring a collection for Camp Hispaniola located Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The camp has requested packs of girls and boys underwear in sizes small to extra-large. Time is very short for the collection. All donations need to be in the church halls no later than Sunday, May 13. Donations can also be dropped off at Grace Church when the office is open (M, T, Th, F - 9-2PM). If you have any questions, please contact Denise Novak at denisensw@gmail.com. Bunk Beds Needed Social Action has received a request from Covenant to Care for two sets of Bunk Beds. If anyone in the Windsor area has a gently used bunk bed that they are willing to donated, please contact Lisa Andersen. Pick up can be arranged if the bunk beds are local. No other size bed is needed at this time. St. Gerard s Center for Life Baby Item Collection Social Action is sponsoring a collection to benefit St. Gerard s Center for Life. The items most needed are baby bath towels and washcloths, receiving and fleece blankets, diaper bags, nursing pillows, baby bottles, crib sheets, baby lotion and baby wash, and socks for boys and girls size months. We can always use newborn clothing for layettes. Some gently used items are also welcome.
