3 TRINITY CATHEDRAL celebrates its 200th anniversary this fall! You are invited to help Trinity kick off its third century with a yearlong series of Bicentennial programs beginning this month. These concerts, educational programs, forums, and other special events will celebrate Trinity s story as Cleveland s oldest congregation, and who we are today: a church for all comers, a center for arts and music, a gathering place for those devoted to Cleveland, a cathedral for the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio, and a thriving urban community of faith. Programs begin at 7:30 p.m. Choral Evensong 6 p.m. Known around the world as one of the gems of the Anglican liturgical tradition, this is a beautiful mid-week respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The Trinity Cathedral Choir, Trinity Chamber Singers, and occasional guest choirs sing Evensong each Wednesday, Oct. 5 through Dec. 14. What does Jesus mean by this statement? Can he possibly be serious? We will explore what Jesus is actually asking of his followers and how this koan is to be lived out.

6 CHILDREN & YOUTH SUNDAY ACTIVITIES Chapel Chat During the 9 a.m. service. All children grades prek-4 may join Chris Decatur for a children s activity every Sunday. Godly Play 10:10-11 a.m. This Montessori-based Sunday School program has classes organized by age groups: age 3 Kindergarten; 1st & 2nd grade; and 3rd & 4th grade. Quest 10:10-11 a.m. Children in 5th and 6th grade explore ethics, spirituality, social responsibility and Christian tradition through a Lectionary-based, multi-sensory program called Seasons of the Spirit. Youth Group 10:10-11 a.m. Our Junior (7th-8th grades) and Senior (9th-12th grades) High programs combine open, faith-based conversation about contemporary issues with Bible study, outreach projects, retreats and social events. Child care for those age 3 and younger is available Sundays, 8:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. SPECIAL EVENTS Discovery Day Sunday, Sept. 11 Services: 8, 9 & 11:15 a.m. Discovery Day & Kids Fair: 10:10 a.m. Discover all that Trinity has to offer small groups, ministries and volunteer opportunities as we kickoff the program year! Indoor and outdoor games for the kids, including a bouncy house obstacle course. Inquirer s Retreat Saturday, October 8 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Designed for those who are new to the Episcopal Church and who want to learn more. INTERGENERATIONAL EVENTS St. Francis Day Blessing of the Animals Sunday, Oct. 2 9 a.m. All creatures great and small are welcome to be blessed at this annual service. Festive coffee hour follows to celebrate the significance of pets in our lives. Advent Nov :10 a.m. Families will have the opportunity to create an advent wreath to be used in their home. We will also have a craft station where children can create decorations for the Jesse tree and learn about the life of St. Nicholas.
