4 Matthew 7:24 (HCSB) The Two Foundations Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock. 7 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

9 2.1.1 Matthew 5:6: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Hungry?

11 1. Hunger and thirst :

12 Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee. Augustine

13 Word of God says: Psalm 135:15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands. 16 They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. 17 They have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. 18 Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.

14 Jeremiah 2:13 "My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

15 Isaiah 55: 1 Come, all of you who thirst, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk, without money and without cost! 2Why spend money on that which is not bread, and your labor on that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of foods. 3Incline your ear and come to Me; listen, so that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my loving devotion assured to David.

16 John 4:10 Jesus answered, "If you knew the gift of God and who is asking you for a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." 11 "Sir," the woman replied, "You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where then will You get this living water? John 4:14 But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life."

17 2. Righteousness: a. Right standing with God [Merriam] Definition of righteous. 1 : acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin. 2a : morally right or justifiable a righteous decision.

18 2. Righteousness: b. In Jesus Christ: 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

19 Galatians 3:26 28 (ESV) for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

22 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Simplified: RIGHTEOUSNESS IS FAITH IN CHIRST RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE PERSON JESUS HUNGER AND THIRST FOR JESUS AND YOU WILL BE SATISFIED
