After flood waters have receded, wounds have been tended, basic needs met, and the world's attention has faded, The United Methodist Church continues to be present by providing ongoing assistance. UMCOR provides survivors not only temporary relief, but also long-term education, training, and support. While UMCOR cooperates with other aid organizations, the most important partners in the work of recovery are those being served. UMCOR is currently engaged in relief efforts in Texas (Hurricane Harvey), in Syria (civil war), Sierra Leone (mudslides), and many other places around the world. Dutch Cradle Cross The Dutch cradle cross on the altar honors the birth of Riley Paige Taylor on September 5 in Charleston, SC. She is the daughter of Bryan and Laura Taylor, the granddaughter of Joe and Patricia Taylor and the great-granddaughter of Dorothy Huggins. Congratulations Congratulations to Sara and Craig Selander on the birth of their son McLendon Price Selander born on August 25, 2017 in Florence, SC. Big brother is Craton and Grandparents are Vance and Linda Shields. Fall is just around the corner and that means our Pumpkin Patch will soon be here! The new youth center may have barren walls now, but wait until the youth get in here and give it some of their flare. The Youth Center will be open M-Th 3:45 6 and Sunday 4:30 7, feel free to stop in and see us sometime. On Friday, October 6 th, we will have our first lock -in at The 925 this is also a Seahawk home game!! Let s meet at the Main Campus at 6:00 pm to drop off our stuff, have a bite to eat and then head over to the game together. After the game we ll head back to The 925 for fun, fellowship and some sleeping. Please RSVP by Thursday, October 5 th. HELP: We are so excited to be in our new Youth Center and we need your help to make the space even better! How can you help us? We would like to tint the front windows of the building and there is a two-fold reason for this. Reason 1: it is a security feature that will keep people from just staring in as they are driving or walking by and reason 2: it will help to keep that part of the building cooler, thus helping with heating & cooling costs.
