2 First Priority clubs are completely student led. As a volunteer you can support the students in two ways. 1. Equipping student leaders outside of school. Meet with student leaders to set them up for success by equipping, empowering, and resourcing them. Jesus spent time investing in groups of seventy, twelve, three, and even one. After the resurrection, Jesus empowered His disciples to go into all the world preaching the Gospel, making disciples, and baptizing new followers (Matthew 28). 2. Visiting the clubs. After being approved by the school and First Priority, you may attend student-led club meetings as a guest/visitor of the students to observe their club meeting. An adult volunteer may not conduct, lead, or control the club meeting. Volunteer Commitment: Register and follow the visitor policies of Johnston County Public Schools and First Priority. Attend monthly volunteer meeting with Coordinator. Align with the mission, vision, and structure of First Priority. Attend Volunteer Trainings and Student Leader Labs. COORDINATORS Each area of the county has Coordinators who are First Priority representatives who train, coach, and ensure the integrity, health, and ministry of First Priority in their area. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Executive Director leads the mission, vision, and direction of First Priority to be a ministry that equips and empowers students with spiritual leadership development, training, and resources. The Executive Director unites the community and invites churches to partner in this Gospel mission.

4 STATEMENT OF FAITH God loves mankind so much that He gave: His Word to be the written source of absolute truth. His Son Jesus, to restore our relationship with God. His Spirit to empower believers. His Mandate to proclaim Christ s sinless life, death, and resurrection to all. His Church to equip believers to reach the world. WHAT WE CELEBRATE The heartbeat of this ministry is to glorify God as we practice the way of Jesus together. As disciples on mission together we celebrate the following taking place in our groups: Prayer Scripture Reading Gospel Proclamation Student Leaders living on mission together. Life Change. LEGAL The official position of First Priority of Greater Clayton is that we will follow the law, as it applies to groups/clubs on public school campuses. As it is stated in the First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. This means that students are allowed to gather on campus and to share their faith. The 1984 Equal Access Act passed by the federal government and upheld in the Supreme Court in This is an overview of components. 1. Non-discrimination: Faith-based clubs have the same right as other non-curricular clubs. 2. Student-Initiated l Student-Led: Meetings must be initiated and led by students. 3. Faculty Sponsor: A Faculty member may be present as a custodian/liaison of the club meetings. 4. Outsiders: May attend meetings as a guest if invited by the students and volunteer status approved.

STUDENT MISSION To know, follow, love, and share Jesus together. To make the name of Jesus great and to glorify Him through their lives. To be a disciple of Jesus who practices the way of Jesus by: Being With Jesus l Becoming Like Jesus l Doing What Jesus did. THE HOPE STRATEGY Middle and High School Clubs operate on the HOPE cycle which is a 4-week strategy that connects students to be in community and on mission together. Elementary School Clubs spend each week learning Bible stories that inspire them to live and share the Gospel together. STUDENT LEADER TEAM Student Leaders should commit to: Attend the Student Leader Labs. Attend Student Leader Meetings. Live on mission together with the other Student Leaders and portray a life of Christian character and integrity.
