8 The Bible says, in John 19:39-40 that Nicodemus brought myrrh and aloes to bury Jesus' body. Here is what myrrh and aloe look like. Here are a few different aloe plants. These could have been some of the aloes Nicodemus used, but is is impossible to know as there are over 400 different species of aloe. 10 Here is what myrrh looks like. Myrrh is a reddish-brown material from the dried sap of a number of trees, but mostly from Commiphora myrrha plant. Verses about myrrh and Jesus in the Bible. 13 There are hundreds of prophecies in the Bible that Jesus has fulfilled so many it would be impossible to list all of them here. However, I have listed a few prophecies that you can use to see how Jesus fulfilled prophecy at this death and resurrection. Prophecies of Jesus Prophecy: Jesus' hands and feet were pierced and nailed to a cross. Scripture(s): Psalm 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. Fulfillment: John 19:18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. John 20:25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. Prophecy: Jesus was buried in a rich man's tomb. Scripture(s): Isaiah 53:9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Fulfillment: Matthew 27:57-60 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea,named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:he went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. * Dark blue cards are prophecy and light blue cards are fulfillment. ** Directions: Cut out the cards and put them into the pocket (pocket on the page after cards) Use the blank cards to write down other prophecies you find.
