I look forward to the rest of this year with Halloween passing by very quickly and Thanksgiving looking us straight in the eye. It will a time of family, a time of quieter voices and a time to give thanks to God for all the blessings bestowed upon us. There will be an Advent Bible study coming up with a new look upon the classic of Charles Dickens entitled The Redemption of Scrooge. Isn t that what we all look for? A little bit of redemption mixed in with our Christmas cheer? A Christmas celebration of a different sort? Of course we do!! May this time of year give you a new expectation for life: a new look upon a familiar theme. Blessing, Steve

2 PAGE 2 PARISH VISITOR NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER 2016 FALL & WINTER WORSHIP Sunday School at 9:00 am Church at 10:00 am If you would like to present a Poinsettia for remembrance or honoring someone during the Hanging of the Greens service on Sunday, December 4th, please plan on purchasing your own Poinsettia and then let Julie know by November 28th in whose memory or honor you wish to give it in. Poinsettias can be picked up and taken home following the Hanging of the Greens service. Thank you! The Trinity Garden Group has been meeting every Friday morning since March in the Peace Garden on the north side of the church building. We spend an hour or so weeding, watering and just enjoying the flowers that are in bloom at the time we are working. Right night the mums are out, and the garden ground is pretty much ready for winter. The garden group consists of Sandy Brown, Roanne Bloom, Monna Walton, Martha Danielson, and Shirley Reissig. Luann Lenz was part of the group early in the spring until her employment took her to the farm rather than the garden. Not only have we weeded, and watered, we designed, and installed (with the assistance of the trustees on work day) a new seating area under the north pine tree that should be in the shade all day long. The pavers are in place, and the new park bench will be added shortly. Last fall we added two new trees that will someday provide more shade on the garden area. The north one is showing a lot of colors right now! It is really competing with the fall flowers! I think it may take first place! The garden is indeed a peaceful place to spend time. If you need a quick get-away from the world around you, stop by, and sit in the peaceful surroundings for just a few minutes. You will find it to be a real stress reliever. If you enjoy being outside, and want to spend time in the garden, please plan to join us in the spring when we begin another year working together!

SHEPHERDS RUN Start planning now to help provide treats and goodies for the annual Shepherds Run. We will be taking these to the hospital, Bethany Home, Riverview, and the Safety Center on Christmas Eve, as a thanks to those working the Holidays for us and ours. WANT TO DANCE & GET IN SHAPE? The Praise Dancers are opening their practice to anyone who would like to join them. Dancing on Sundays will be optional, but come for some fun and exercise! Friday at 4:00pm in Fellowship Hall. ADVENT BIBLE STUDY! The Redemption of Scrooge Beginning Tuesday, November 29th at 6:00pm in the Eklund Room Led by Pastor Steve PLEASE NOTE CHURCH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24TH IN CELEBRATION OF THANKSGIVING! BLESSINGS TO ALL!! ALSO, IT WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 26TH FOR CHRISTMAS. Trustees were unable to meet this month but they did organize having the carpet cleaned in the Fellowship Hall and the Eklund room funded by the Summer Food Program. Thank you Summer Food Program, and thank all who helped take-down & set-up tables.
