Mary, Joseph, and an angel will share memories from the very first Christmas and encourage families to celebrate the best Keepsake of all...jesus!! If your child and their friends would like to participate in the program they need to practice Sunday, December 3rd and 10th at 9:45 in the Edwards Education Hall. Families, don t forget to R.S.V.P. if you are attending. If you have lost your invite just call the church office.

2 From Your Pastor As you will see in this week s newsletter we have a lot going on in the life of the church here and in the community. We hope you are able to take advantage of the weekly Advent services and special music we have on Sundays and are also able to join us for fellowship events, unique worship experiences led by various church members, and outreach/service. We also hope that you take time to relax and enjoy the season do not let the hustle and bustle of the coming month diminish your ability to praise the Newborn King and spend time with family and friends. Grace and Peace, Rix GOOD SAM MINISTRY Is requesting more donations as the need has surpassed their supply. Please help end hunger in Troup County! Items being collected: Macaroni and cheese, canned meats, canned vegetables, canned meals: soup, chili, stew. Fruit Cups, single serving peanut butter, Ramen noodles, Pop-tarts, 100% Juice packs, shelf stable milk boxes, individually wrapped snacks, cereal, oatmeal and grits. Pease bring your donations to the narthex for collection. Good Sam packing date has been changed to Saturday, December 9 at 2:00PM!! You may have noticed that we are including a scan or QR Code on many of the items from the church office. If you wonder how to use this scan to make your contribution there are only a few quick actions required to allow you to begin giving on line. First: download the free QR Reader from the App Store on your cell phone. (click App Store, type in QR Code Reader and touch search. Choose the QR Code app and select Download/Get) Second: when the app has successfully downloaded open the app. Hold your phone over this QR code. Your cell phone will automatically read the code and take you to a Loyd Presbyterian Church contribution page. Third: read down and select Create Your Profile and fill in the required information. Once completed then agree and proceed. You can then choose to make a single offering to Building Fund and/or General Fund or set up an automatic draft option. When more members sign up we can add more contribution options as special offerings. See Shelley, Suzi or Rix for help. 2

The service is designed to support parents and families who have lost children during this holiday season. 4 Help the Presbyterian Women share Christmas cheer in the community. It is our custom at Loyd to reach beyond our church membership and we re hoping you will share the names of persons who might enjoy a holiday visit and/or gift. Please turn in names and addresses, as well as other pertinent information to Jennifer Wood or Anne Hall or the church office. Church members will be given the opportunity on Sunday, December 10th, to draw a name to give special attention during the Christmas season. Maggie has received the Christmas gift list from Long Cane Elementary School. As our Partner in Education, Long Cane notifies us of families that need our support during the holidays and we as members choose a tag that contains the age, size and need of a child. These tags will be in the Narthex this Sunday (please write your name down on the registration sheet for the tag you selected). Each gift should be wrapped with the tag attached when you return it to the church. The last day to turn in your gift is December 10th.
