Pastor Scott Velain Hebrews Chapter 4 & 5 Do As Thou Wilt Is The Whole Of The Law? Last week in our venture into the 3 rd chapter of the book of Hebrews we saw some things that were very profound. And one of those very profound things was the way that the author of the book of Hebrews compared the Israelite's of Moses time... to the Christians of his time.. and subsequently... our time. The author of the book of Hebrews goes through great lengths to present a comparison between those who were with Moses in the wilderness.. and those who lived among Christians after the death, burial, and resurrection of our Messiah, and to this very day I think it's more than safe to say that most modern day Christians still do not understand the true biblical definition of faith and what faith is, and that along with faith comes the obedience of faith. And I dare say that much of today's modern day Christianity has all but written off the biblical obedience of faith and traded it for mans Once Saved Always Saved doctrine not found anywhere in the scriptures. As we've seen through our studies throughout the Bible.. we find over and over and over again that along with Faith comes obedience. And we learned through the scriptures last week that this Obedience that naturally comes along with Faith simply can not be ignored as so many denominational charters of men so proudly proclaim. And so for those of you who may be new to this teaching or for those of you who may have been taught wrongly... and I stress that very strong word... wrongly... please... take the time to go back and view our last weeks Bible study into the book of Ephesians chapter 1 part 2, and for even more information on the true biblical definition of Faith... you can visit us at HolyImpactMinistries.com and click on our Teachings page... and then navigate down to our archives section under Miscellaneous Studies and there you will find our study entitled The Biblical Definition Of Faith... and we invite you to spend some time in that study, and to take these things to your prayer closet and to test them through the fire of prayer. Moving back into our study into the book of Hebrews.. I think you'll find chapter 3 a very interesting read if you have not ever really sat down and taken the time to study chapter 3 of the book of Hebrews because once again.. it is profoundly important to see not only how... but why... the author of the book of Hebrews compares the Israelite's of Moses time who were disobedient... to the Christians of our time who are disobedient today... and how nothing has 1

really changed. The very reason that our Messiah came was to once again bring about the Obedience of Faith just as we've already heard Paul tell us in Romans 16:25 through 27: Rom 16:25 Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages Rom 16:26 but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith Rom 16:27 to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen. And I understand that for most of today's modern day professing Christians this may seem extremely perplexing in view of the fact that they have been wrongly taught that the Apostle Paul taught against the laws of the one true God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob... but the truth once again shines through the scriptures if take the time to sit down and read them. Once again.. it's important that we choose the wisdom of God and his given scriptures rather than the wisdom of men and what their so called Early church fathers and Bible commentators have told them. And just to help those who still proclaim that Paul preached that Gods laws were all nailed to the cross... you may want to take our free five part study entitled Gods Laws Still Stand.. once again it's free and you can find that study at our website at HolyImpactMinsitries.com... or... you may want to simply go read Romans 3:31. Either way... we strongly suggest that you test these things through the fire of prayer. So lets venture into the first few verses of Hebrews chapter 4 verses 1 through 3: Heb 4:1 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. Heb 4:2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. Heb 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, "As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest,'" although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. Notice how we're told in Hebrews 4:1 to Fear... now.. I want us to stop here for just a moment and think about this for just a moment. Why would the author of the book of Hebrews want us to Fear.. if we already have the promise of salvation?.. If we are indeed Once Saved Always Saved as so many of today's modern day Protestant churches so proudly proclaim... then why should we.. Fear? Notice in verse 2 that we are told that the good news came to us just as to them... now lets stop and think for a moment here. First of all... who is Us.. and who is Them? Well if you were 2

with us during our study on the 3 rd chapter of Hebrews last week... you already know that the Them the author is speaking about are those who were in the wilderness with Moses. Lets back up and read the last few verses of chapter 3 that precede the first few verses of chapter 4... lets go back and make sure that we know who the Them in Hebrews 4:2 is... and we can do that by going back and reading Hebrews 3:16 through 19: Heb 3:16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? Heb 3:17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? Heb 3:18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? Heb 3:19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief. So once again we can see that the Them in Hebrews 4:2 are the Israelite's who were in the wilderness with Moses. And the Us in Hebrews 4:2.. is you and I my friends, after the death, burial, and resurrection of our Messiah. The book of Hebrews was written well after the death, burial, and resurrection of our Messiah... therefore the Us would be you and I who are believers in the resurrection of the Messiah.. and the author is clearly comparing Us... to Them and he is clearly comparing their disobedience back in Moses time... with our disobedience today. And this is techtonically important to understand my friends.. if we take nothing else from these verses let us not miss this most important biblical fact. The disobedience of the Israelite's is directly related to the disobedience of today's modern day Christian. As we've said before so now we say again... there is no Once Saved Always Saved Doctrine found anywhere in our Bibles. The Once Saved Always Saved doctrine is nothing more than a verbal tradition of men... just like the many man made, man created, man fabricated laws and commandments of the Pharisees that our Messiah utterly hated. And for more information on how much our Messiah hated the man made, man created, man fabricated laws and commandments of the Pharisees.. all we have to do is turn to Matthew chapter 23 where our Messiah calls the Pastors, Priests, Bishops and Popish leaders of his time a brood of vipers.. whitewashed tombs.. blind guides.. and even two fold children of hell. Our Father in Heaven is very clear in Deuteronomy chapter 4 verse 2 and Deuteronomy chapter 12 verse 32, and again in Revelation 22:18 when he tells us not to ad to... or take away from.. his Word.. and yet time after time men just seem to love to ad to... and take away from.. his Word because it transfers the power and authority of God... to them... and that's why they do it. And these men will build whole denominations around these man made laws, traditions, rituals, and myths in order to once again give them the upper hand so that Gods people will follow after them and their denominations... rather than following after the truth of the one true God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob... and this my friends... is how our adversary leads so many of Gods people away from him. 3

This my friends is why all of these different denominational charters of men.. love to preach and teach that we should all stand around holding hands singing Kumbaya when the Bible teaches us not to follow after such doctrines of demons. We must remember what the Apostle Paul tells us in 2 nd Corinthians 11:4 through 6: 2Co 11:4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. 2Co 11:5 Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles. 2Co 11:6 Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made this plain to you in all things. And what do we see Paul warning us against if we simply scroll down to verses 13 through 15? 2Co 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 2Co 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2Co 11:15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. Let me ask you my friends.. these men who come in among the flock of true Christians...and continue to preach and teach things like Once Saved Always Saved... are they not preaching a another Jesus?.. another spirit?... and another Gospel? Our Messiah Yahshua Jesus never preached anything even close to a Once Saved Always Saved doctrine at any time anywhere in his ministry, and neither did any of his Apostles, and as we move through the book of Hebrews we'll see the author of the book of Hebrews completely destroy the man made, man created, man fabricated Once Saved Always Saved doctrine of demons. We need not guess... or wonder... all we have to do is imply read.. and believe, and allow our Messiah to give us the eyes to see, and the ears to hear the truth. (RETURN TO HEBREWS CHAPTER 4) Notice in verse 2 of Hebrews chapter 4 we're told that the good news came to us just as it did them but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. Now lets just stop here for just a moment. What good news did the Israelite's in the wilderness receive that we also received? And I want us to think about that for a moment. Obviously.. the author of the book of Hebrews is suggesting that the good news came to both the Israelite's in the wilderness... and we Christians.. but that the good news did not benefit the Israelite's in the wilderness because they were not united by faith. How important is it to grasp this, and to understand this message that the author of the book of 4

Hebrews is trying to give us? This is the same thing that the Apostle Paul told us in Romans 9:30 through 33: Rom 9:30 What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith; Rom 9:31 but that Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. Rom 9:32 Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, Rom 9:33 as it is written, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame." This good news was the gift of blessing and curses that we can find in Deuteronomy 11:26 through 28: Deu 11:26 "See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: Deu 11:27 the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, Deu 11:28 and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside from the way that I am commanding you today, to go after other gods that you have not known. Once again my friends.. just as our Messiah tells us in Matthew 7:21... not everyone who calls on the name of Yahshua Jesus is going to get into the gates of Heaven... but only the one who does the will of his Father. And just as our Messiah tells us in Matthew 5:18.. not one dotting of an i or one crossing of a t will pass from the law of his Father until Heaven and Earth pass away.. and once again my friends... we know that Heaven and Earth do not pass away until Revelation chapter 21 verse 1.. so we should not be surprised by what we find here in the book of Hebrews.. even though I can assure you... that many of today's modern day professing Christians are not only surprised.. but rather confused by these things.. because of what today's modern day denominational charters of men have taught them. (RETURN TO HEBREWS CHAP 4) In verse 4 of Hebrews chapter 4 we find that we who have believed... enter that rest, as he has said, "As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest,'"... so what does that mean? Well lets go back and read Hebrews 3:18: Heb 3:18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? Heb 3:19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief. It simply means that we who have faith in the Messiah.. and understand the obedience of faith.. 5

have entered into our Fathers rest. The Israelite's could have entered into his rest.. but they did not follow the law of God by faith.. they followed the law of God as though it were based on works.. (and you can find that biblical fact in Romans chapter 9 verses 30 through 32)..and so once again we must clarify what faith is. Faith is the love of God... and the love of God is obedience to God.. and to better understand this it's important that we understand what the biblical definition of the love of God is? Lets read that in 1 st John 5:3: 1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. Obedience my friends... is the love of God.. and Obedience and the Love Of God equals.. Faith. Just as we saw in our 7 th Day Sabbath study last week... you can not have faith.. void of obedience. If we have no obedience... then we have no faith according to the scriptures and once again I think it's important to re-read John 3:36: Joh 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. And so then once again we must ask what did the Son command? The Son commanded that we keep his Fathers Commandments.. and we can see that all throughout his ministry, and all throughout the scriptures in places like Matthew 7:21, and Matthew 5:18, and John 12:49 and 50, John 14:24, Mark 1:14 and 15, Luke 16:16 and 17 and on and on it goes my friends.. Yahshua Jesus came to preach his Fathers Word.. and his Fathers Kingdom...not his own word.. not his own birthday, not a bunch of pagan holidays, festivals, rituals, traditions and man made man created, man fabricated myths. And this is profoundly important to the author of the book of Hebrews that we understand these things. He is warning us to wake up! Lets continue on reading Hebrews chapter 4 verses 4 through 11: Heb 4:4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works." Heb 4:5 And again in this passage he said, "They shall not enter my rest." Heb 4:6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, Heb 4:7 again he appoints a certain day, "Today," saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. Heb 4:11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. So the author of Hebrews is clearly defining this Rest of Gods.. as being part of Gods 7 th Day 6

Sabbath. Notice in verse 5 he says that God said They shall not enter my rest. Why?.. because they.. the Israelite's.. did not keep his 7 th Day Sabbath, just as is written in Ezekiel 22:8 Eze 22:8 You have despised my holy things and profaned my Sabbaths. You see they kept profaning his Sabbaths and God clearly tells us that his 7 th Day Sabbath is a sign between him and his people.. and again we can find that in Exodus 31:13 and 14: Exo 31:13 "You are to speak to the people of Israel and say, 'Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the LORD, sanctify you. Exo 31:14 You shall keep the Sabbath, because it is holy for you. Everyone who profanes it shall be put to death. Whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Once again my friends I would submit to you that nothing has changed here. Those who do not keep his Sabbaths and do not have the obedience of faith will not awaken at the first resurrection to everlasting life. Those who do not keep his 7 th Day Sabbath will awaken to the 2 nd resurrection and everlasting contempt... just as it is written in Exodus 31:14. You see today's modern day professing Christian does not believe what God said in Exodus 31:14 because he thinks that all of Gods laws were nailed to some tree somewhere.. even though that's not what Paul ever taught if we understand Paul's writings in the proper context.. and that's another study in itself. But the point that the author of the book of Hebrews is trying to make is that because they did not keep his Sabbaths... that are a sign between him and us... they were made to pay for their disobedience. They had no faith... no love of God... and no obedience... these three my friends... are one. Faith, Love, and Obedience.. are.. one... and the sooner we learn these things... the sooner things will change in our lives. My friends... many of our English translations say the same things... using different words.. and I think this may be easier to understand in the Complete Jewish Bible... so lets go re-read these same verses in the Complete Jewish Bible once again Hebrews chapter 4:4 through 11 in the CJB: Heb 4:4 For there is a place where it is said, concerning the seventh day, "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works." Heb 4:5 And once more, our present text says, "They will not enter my rest." Heb 4:6 Therefore, since it still remains for some to enter it, and those who received the Good News earlier did not enter, Heb 4:7 he again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David, so long afterwards, in the text already given, "Today, if you hear God's voice, don't harden your hearts." Heb 4:8 For if Y'hoshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later of another 7

"day." Heb 4:9 So there remains a Shabbat-keeping for God's people. Heb 4:10 For the one who has entered God's rest has also rested from his own works, as God did from his. Heb 4:11 Therefore, let us do our best to enter that rest; so that no one will fall short because of the same kind of disobedience. And I think that the wording in the Complete Jewish Bible really makes this passage much more understandable. So once again... the author of the book of Hebrews is simply warning us again to keep Gods Shabbat... his Sabbath... because it is a sign between him and us, and once again my friends we see that Gods laws commandments, Sabbaths, appointments, and precepts.. are in no way.. nailed to the cross. If you believe in the Once Saved Always Saved doctrine of demons.. you will profain his Sabbaths and that sign that is between us and him.. will not be given to you. You will be marked with another sign... that you do not want. A sign that is between you.. and the god of this world... remember... the serpent also has seed, just as we're told in Genesis 3:15. My friends so many Christians have followed after the deception of those who preach that in Colossians 2:14 Paul taught that Yahshua Jesus nailed his Fathers laws to the cross... but let us read the text for ourselves.. and let's see with our own eyes what it truly says. Colossians 2:14: Col 2:14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. Now I ask you plainly my friends.. does this text say.. that Yahshua Jesus nailed his Fathers laws to the cross? NO! Not by any stretch of the imagination it does not. It says that he nailed the RECORD OF DEBT that stood against us to the cross. He nailed the penalty for breaking the law to the cross... not the law itself my friends. The ticket that we received for speeding was paid by him. But this does not destroy the law. It simply removes the penalty and pays the fine which was death. And so the penalty for our past sins were paid in full, and if we repent from those sins... which means to turn away from those sins... and if we have the love of God in our hearts and the Obedience Of Faith in our lives... and we keep the love of God in our hearts and the obedience of faith because we love him to the end... then... and only then.. will we truly be saved. And this is what the author of the book of Hebrews is so desperately trying to convey to each and ever reader of this book. And that this includes... Gods 7 th Day Sabbath of rest because it is a sign between him and us. Lets continue on in Hebrews chapter 4 with Hebrews 4:12 through 14: Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the 8

thoughts and intentions of the heart. Heb 4:13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Heb 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. Once again my friends the Word of God is living and active. And God knows what is in our hearts and he knows whether we truly believe or not, because he knows if.. we truly believe... we will do... what he asks of us. And for those of us who do not believe.. they will not do what he asks of them. They will forever preach and teach that his commandments, his feast days, his appointments, and his precepts and Sabbaths mean nothing... and they will continue to preach and teach another Jesus who has done away with his Fathers commandments and really doesn't care how you live or what you do because they will tell you and your children that you are Once Saved Always Saved so it really doesn't matter how you live... Do As Thou Wilt Is The Whole Of The Law... that is what Once Saved Always Saved is my friends and it truly does come right out of the Devils Bible and it was taken from the likes of Alester Crowley and I urge you to do your homework on this individual. You won't have to go very deep.. or study him to long to know and understand that he was indeed the seed of Satin himself. Simply google Do As Thou Wilt Is The Whole Of The Law. The Once Saved Always Saved doctrine of demons is nothing more than the Do As Thou Wilt Is The Whole Of The Law doctrine of demons.. and every Christian should know and understand this biblical fact, and teach it diligently to their children so that they are well armed with the truth as well so that they don't fall prey to this doctrine of demons. And with that said... lets go back and read Hebrews 4:14: Heb 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. This is a very profound scripture when we realize.. that only a man can be.. a high Priest. Lets return once again to Hebrews 5:1: Heb 5:1 For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. So when we realize.. that every High Priest chosen from among men... notice... every High Priest is not chosen from among angels, or from co-equal gods, or from some kind of heavenly being... every High Priest... chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men... in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. So once again we clearly see that our Messiah was indeed a man.. and had to be a man.. in order 9

to be a High Priest.. and this man.. Yahshua Jesus the Messiah.. through his death, burial, and resurrection.. has passed through the heavens.. because he is the Son of God. Gods only begotten human Son who was begotten by God his Father... now sits at the right hand of his Father... not in his Fathers throne mind you... but at the right hand of his Father in his own throne. This is once again profoundly important to understand. Hebrews 4:16 tells us to draw near to the throne of grace with confidence... so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Once again loving God the Father through the obedience of faith to let him know with out a doubt that we do indeed... believe. How awesome is the true Word of God and how revealing is it when we take the time to sit down an read it for ourselves with out the wisdom of men diluting what the scriptures themselves tell us. Lets go ahead and move forward into chapter 5 and lets read Hebrews 5 1 through 6: Heb 5:1 For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. Heb 5:2 He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. Heb 5:3 Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people. Heb 5:4 And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. Heb 5:5 So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, "You are my Son, today I have begotten you"; Heb 5:6 as he says also in another place, "You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek." Once again the author of the book of Hebrews in making it very clear that our Messiah was created begotten Maganas by God his Father. as a man.. not an angle... and not a co-equal god... but a flesh and bone man who is now our High Priest who is only chosen from among men.. and he tells us that our High Priest... (because he was a man from his beginning).. can deal gently with the ignorant and the wayward since he himself is beset with weakness. He himself was tempted, he himself was hungry, and weak, and tested, and so he knows what we're going through. Yahshua Jesus himself grew in wisdom and stature before men and that wisdom and stature was not a wisdom or stature that he already had... he had to grow... in wisdom and stature before God and men. So the scripture is very clear that he did not have that wisdom and stature in the beginning. Lets read Luke 2:52: Luk 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. Once again our Messiah was a man who knew full well the heart aches and temptations and 10

weaknesses of men, and this is why he is fit to be a High Priest who can act on behalf of men in relation to God. And this is why he can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward. And this is exactly who he is being our High Priest who was at first a man... and just as we hear Paul tell us in 1st Timothy.. he is a mediator between God and man... the man... Yahshua Jesus the Messiah... lets read 1 st Timothy 2:5 and 6: 1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1Ti 2:6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. So this biblical truth... that Yahshua Jesus was a man... who is now our heavenly High Priest... our Mediator between man and God who was himself a man... is what the author of Hebrews is trying to get through to us. Now I want us to understand what is written in verse 3 and so lets all go back and re-read Hebrews chapter 5 verse 3: Heb 5:3 Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people. Some people will use this verse to proclaim that Yahshua Jesus himself who was a man..did sin. But I do not believe that our Messiah sinned.. I do believe what the scriptures tell us. Lets go back and read Hebrews 4:15 Heb 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. So obviously the author of the book of Hebrews is not saying that Yahshua Jesus sinned. So what sin is it then that he's talking about in Hebrews 5:3? And why would Yahshua Jesus be obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people? How could that be if Yahshua Jesus never sinned? The answer to this perplexing question can be found in 2 nd Corinthians 5:21: 2Co 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. It's important to understand that Yahshua Jesus was known as the Passover Lamb, and we can find that in 1 st Corinthians 5:7: 1Co 5:7 Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 11

The Passover Lamb always had to be a lamb with out blemish.. lets go back and read Exodus 12:5: Exo 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats, This perfect lamb.. with out blemish was the perfect sacrifice and from the day that the Passover feast was commanded by God.. this was a representation of the perfect lamb with out blemish.. that was to come. God see's the whole parade my friends. He sees the past, the present, and the future, and God was already pointing to the perfect human with out blemish... that he would call his Son. In order for Yahshua Jesus to be the perfect sacrifice... he.. just like the Passover lamb.. had to be with out blemish.. without sin.. so that he could become sin.. so that sin could be destroyed. And so it was that Yahshua Jesus was that perfect unblemished lamb that God made sin in order to rid sin from the world. And so when we read in Hebrews 5:3 that he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people. we can rest assured that his own sin was the sin of the world that he took on for us.. once again.. God made him to be sin, who knew no sin. So lets return to Hebrews chapter 5 verses 4 through 6: Heb 5:4 And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. Heb 5:5 So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, "You are my Son, today I have begotten you"; Heb 5:6 as he says also in another place, "You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek." Here we have the author of the book of Hebrews once again... clearly making the distinction between the Father and the Son, and he says that as far as becoming a High Priest... and I quote no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, "You are my Son, today I have begotten you". Once again we see that Yahshua did not appoint himself to be High Priest... his Father appointed him this office.. and we continue to see this throughout the scriptures and in all of the writings of the Apostles as well. This is not some strange thing that the author of the book of Hebrews proclaimed... this is written all throughout the scriptures my friends. And notice in verse 6 where we're told that Yahshua Jesus is a High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. Also notice that it does not say that he was a High Priest before Melchizedek... nor does it say he 'IS.. the High Priest Melchizedek... it says that our Messiah is... and I quote... AFTER.. the ORDER of 12

Melchizedek. Once again this does not point to a per-existant co-equal god who is co-equal the one true God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Lets continue on with Hebrews 5:7 through 10: Heb 5:7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Heb 5:8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, Heb 5:10 being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. Again a clearly defined Father and Son moment is mentioned here in verse 7.. With loud cries and tears we're told that our Messiah reached out to his Father... notice my friends... that he did not cry out to himself, and in verse 8. We're told that although he was a son.. he learned obedience through what he suffered. So once again we see that Yahshua had to learn.. obedience.. just like a human man... because he was... a human man. In verse 9 we're told that Yahshua was made perfect and that he was designated by God... a High Priest... once again.. he was not co-equal with his Father... and did not designate himself to be a High Priest. It's almost as though the author of the book of Hebrews knew... that man would create this demonically inspired Trinity doctrine of 3 co-equal gods. He just keeps blasting away at it almost with every other sentence. And so then let us finish up with the warning that's aimed right at the bulls eye of today's modern day theologians... a warning that the so called Early Church Fathers all the way on down to today's modern day Pastors, Priest, Bishop's, and Popes need to hear... and we can find this warning in Hebrews chapter 5 verses 11 through 14: Heb 5:11 About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. Heb 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, Heb 5:13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil. And I don't think I have to say another word.. I will simply let the author of the book of Hebrews have... the last word... and what a powerful word it is! Let those who have they eyes to see... see... and those who have the ears to hear... hear. 13
