3 TRUNK OR TREAT Mark your calendars: The Parish Life and Events Committee will be hosting this fun event. Trunk or Treat will be held after the 4PM Mass on Saturday, October 27th (from 5PM 6PM). We do need your help to make this event a success! 1. CANDY, CANDY, CANDY! Bags of individually wrapped candy can be dropped of at the parish center until Oct. 25th. 2. We need families to decorate their car trunks and pass out candy. Call Cindy at the Parish Office to reserve your space. The more cars, the more fun! 3. Bring your little ones to trick or treat in a safe and fun filled environment. Calling all Ghosts And Goblins! OCTOBER HAS BEEN DESIGNATED AS RESPECT LIFE MONTH. In conjunction with this, the Knights of Columbus is again sponsoring the ROSE DRIVE to raise money for Birthright. Birthright is a crisis pregnancy center that believes it is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth and the right of every child to be born. The ROSE DRIVE will be held: October 20th and 21st at all Mass times. Your generosity would be very much appreciated when you are offered a rose, the symbol of life. 4 GARAGE SALE SUCCESS! Thank you to everyone who donated and prayed for our Garage Sale to be successful. Special thanks to all the volunteers who spent countless hours sorting and organizing. We raised just over $5, Every year we get better and better. The sale next year will be in June. Looking forward to another great sale. Lynn Ties COMMUNITY OUTREACH LAST WEEKEND FOOD DRIVE will be held Saturday & Sunday, October 27 & 28. Any nonperishable items will be appreciated. Your donation will be sent to St. Vincent de Paul to be distributed to families who are less fortunate in the Cedar Rapids area. St. Vincent de Paul is seeing a lot of need during this time. Please be generous. If you forgot your blue (food donation) bag, please bring it next weekend. COMMUNITY OUTREACH COLLECTION, consisting of all loose coins & bills, will be taken the weekend of Saturday & Sunday, October 27 & 28. Our next Souper Senior Luncheon will be held on Thursday, November 1. BRING QUARTERS to play Bingo. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail, accurately perform transactions on the Point of Sale cash register. Retail sales experience preferred; however, not required. Exhibits a positive attitude and creates an enjoyable atmosphere for all customers. Familiar with Catholicism and/or willing to learn. Cedar Rapids CDA Court will celebrate by attending the 8:30 am Mass at St. Jude s Church. CDA was founded in 1903 by the Knights of Columbus in Utica NY. CDA Motto: Unity and Charity. This year s retreat which was led by a dynamic team of Xavier High School students, college students, and young adults encouraged the 41 participants to grow in faith, friendship, and a deeper sense of Christian community.
