2 ADVENT DEVOTIONS FROM LUTHERAN HOUR MINISTRIES What God has done for the world is most intimately expressed in the life of His Son Jesus. In The Coming King, explore God s marvelous work through the lives of those who were on the scene at the time of the Savior s birth. The coming Savior s birth was foretold by the prophets of old and later experienced by many who were on hand as He came into this world. Mary and Joseph, Zechariah and Elizabeth, Simeon, shepherds, wise men from the east, a legion of angels, and even King Herod all play their parts in the Gospel narratives that speak of the Savior s incarnation. Dec. 5, Chattanooga Girls Choir will perform during our Wed. evening 6:30 pm. On Dec. 9, come hear the joyful sounds of Jericho 6:30 pm! Advent Sermon Series on The Lord s Prayer The first Advent service is on Wed., Nov. pm. Pastor Sheets Advent Series this year will be about the Lord s Prayer. Each Sunday and Wednesday he will preach about a different section of the Lord s Prayer fromluther s Catechism. Wed., Dec. 19 at 6:30 pm! The children will tell about Jesus birth with joyful hearts, traditional hymns, and scripture readings. For children PreK4-5th grade! Rehearsals for From Heaven Above We will be practicing at 10:30 am and 11:30 am on Sundays AND on 5:30 pm.( You don t have to go to both!) *Saturday Practice on Dec. 8 from am! *Mandatory Dress Rehearsal Dec. 1 pm! 4 DONATIONS NEEDED! We have 26 College Age members that we are collecting goodies to fill a Christmas bag of goodies. They will be home for their Christmas break soon and then back to start their new semester at school. Some items of interest are: Candy, gum, mints, post it notes (all sizes), Pens and Pencils, inspirational notes (can be handwritten), tissues, hand sanitizer, individual bags of popcorn, and individual snacks. There will be containers available for collection. Items will be collected through Sun., Dec. 16 th. Any questions, please contact Lorna Duderstadt or Jennifer Harvey New Session! We will be ringing the bells and filling the Red Kettles on Dec. 8, 11 am 8 pm at the Walmart FOOD DOOR on Gunbarrel Rd. and also at Bass Pro Shops near Camp Jordan. 1 hour time slots! This year's theme is "Welcoming the Refugee" Learning to Love like God". Refreshments will be served in the church's Fellowship Hall following the program in the Sanctuary. BCA's float for the East Ridge Christmas Parade!! Perfect weather made for a great evening to kick-off the Christmas season at tonight's annual event! Thanks to all of the parents who brought their children to participate and worked on the float to make it beautiful and festive and to say "Happy Birthday, Jesus! - the true reason for the season!
