2 Welcome to Our Sunday Services First - Time Visitors If this is your first visit to Unity of Tustin, we are so happy to have you with us. We have a Welcome Flyer and a flower for you at the Welcome table outside the sanctuary. Please join us at hospitality outside on the patio (or inside Victoria House due to weather) immediately following each service. Our Services Please enter our sanctuary quietly since others are praying or meditating. We ask those entering after the opening prayer has begun to remain in the back until the prayer concludes. We also ask those arriving after meditation has begun to remain outside until the meditation concludes. We do not allow animals (except service dogs), food or drinks except water in closed containers in our sanctuary. Prayer Chaplains Prayer Chaplains are available after each service at the entrance to the Meditation Gardens to pray with you and to receive your prayer requests. All written prayer requests placed in our prayer box are held in prayer at Unity of Tustin for 30 days, then sent to Silent Unity in Missouri to be held in prayer for an additional 30 days. 2 Our services include the musical talents of Carol Roman and Richard Jennings. 5 A Contemplative Advent In the quiet setting of the sanctuary, with the Christmas lights on and the spirit of the season in the air, we will gather as pilgrims on the path to honor this sacred time of year. There are so many paradoxical dimensions to the Christmas season: light and dark, fear and hope, humanity and divinity. On Wednesday nights we will explore all these dimensions in a contemplative service through ritual, extended silent meditation, scripture and music. Our services will be approximately 1 1/2 hours. Dec 3 Hope: Lighting a Candle in the Dark The story of the birth of the Christ begins long ago in ancient times when Isaiah prophesized of a coming Messiah. It was a message of hope and the promise of the presence of the Divine in our life, even in times of seeming darkness. Our evening will focus on befriending the dark and accessing points of light within and without. Dec 10 Love: The Container for All Experience After the Annunciation Mary journeys to be with Elizabeth. She is drawn to be in community and communion with a soul sister. There are times in our lives when what we are experiencing feels overwhelming, too much for us to hold alone. The Christmas season especially can bring up all sorts of feelings that are seemingly in conflict with this joyous season. Our evening will provide a container where soul friends can come together in the spirit of community, love and healing. Dec 17 Joy: The Song of the Angels Angels are the messengers of the Divine, playing a pivotal role in communicating and orchestrating the unfolding of the Christmas journey. Along your journey there are always messages coming in from the Divine, from angels seen and unseen. Our evening will open us to the messages we receive from the angels in our lives, their guidance and their celebration in the miracles manifesting. 5

6 Our Holiday Outreach We are collecting non-perishable food items, diapers, and toiletries to donate to second harvest, the orange county food bank. Bring items on Sunday or during the week during bookstore hours. Through January 4. Our Outreach Ministry needs leadership and souls interested in bringing this dimension of service to our community. Teachers Gary Godshall, Matt Manning, Joe Slocum and Robin Slocum accompanied Makayla Perkins, Gina Trank, Cole Carter, Faith Truitt, Tara Manning, Demnis Woods and Gavin Brudos Sommers. Couples Circle Friday, January pm with Nevin Valentine & Darrell Holdaway Learn the Intentional Dialogue developed by Harville Hendrick and make this new year the best year of your relationship. 8 8 Christmas Eve Family & Music Service with Rev. Carolyne Mathlin Let the spirit of Christmas surround you at our family-oriented Christmas Eve service. Our service will feature music from our Voices of Unity Choir and the music team. It will also include a Christmas message and some of our favorite Unity Christmas traditions. Christmas Eve Contemplative Service Rev. Carolyne Mathlin Wednesday, December 24, 5 pm Take time to integrate the heights and depths of the meaning of Christmas as we experience reverence, devotion, peace, joy, and love at this very sacred service. 9 New Year s Eve Watch Night Service with Rev. Carolyne Mathlin New Year s Eve holds sacred energy. We will give to the sacred flame that which we are ready to release and we will write Letters to God that set our intentions for the upcoming 2015 year. The sealed letters will be held in prayer at Unity of Tustin and then returned to you in December Wednesday, December 31, 6 pm White Stone Sunday with Rev. Carolyne Mathlin Each congregant receives a white Jerusalem stone and while in contemplation, receives a word to write on the stone as inspiration for the upcoming year.
