If you are a first-time visitor please add your address and phone number and stop by the welcome center in the Narthex after the service so that we can give you a small gift. Children ages four through fifth grade may leave when noted for Discovery Time, a worship education program which will be held in Crossroads Center. Please see an usher for directions to the room. Children should be picked up there following this service. Older children are encouraged to stay with their parents during worship. If you have a little one that is in need of Nursery care during this service, please see one of our ushers. You are encouraged to write your prayer and praise requests on the yellow sheets found in the pew slots. Please give them to an usher or place them in the offering plate. Current Schedule - We continue with our regular worship service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. One Adult Education class is offered at 10:45 a.m. in the parlor. For children, Discovery Time is available during Sunday worship, and child care will be available during the Adult Education Hour. Our fall Children s Sunday School and Adult Education will kick off on September 16. New Saturday Schedule This fall, we begin a new schedule for Saturday gatherings. On the first Saturday of each month at 5:00 p.m. we will celebrate the Lord s Supper together in the Crossroads Center, with worship similar to our previous Saturday informal worship services. (Note that this will be the only Saturday worship service each month). Then, on the third Saturday of the month we will gather in the church parlor or Crossroads Center for food (such a pizza or hoagies which will be provided), fellowship, discussion and various presentations. Some topics we are considering are: biblical/theological question and answer time, presentations by members of the congregation about their special interests, a look at our society/culture from a biblical viewpoint, or group prayer time for our church, community and world. We are calling this new ministry FFF Fellowship and Food at Five. Please sign up on the sheet posted on the bulletin board outside of the narthex or call the church office by the Thursday before if you plan to attend, and indicate if you need child care. Hopefully many of you will take advantage of this special chance to learn about your church family! Scrapbooking Day - If you like to scrapbook, or want to learn, come to the church Fellowship Hall for a day of scrapbooking. Date: THIS Saturday, September 8 Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or come when you can during that time and leave when you want Bring: Your lunch beverages will be supplied Cost: Free If you are new to scrapbooking, there are people that will help you get started. All you need are your pictures, an album to put them in, adhesive or other replaceable items. Trimmers, scissors, a Cricut machine and cartridges and non-replaceable products will be available for use. The day is open to all church family and friends. Join us as we bless the students, teachers, and school employees. We will affirm their vocation, and encourage them all to serve God in their daily work. Men s Bible Study - Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. All men are invited! Come and explore God's Word. This week we are meeting in the parlor. Contact Bob Barit for information at Woman s Bible Study - Join us for prayer, study and discussion, Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in the parlor. Come each week, or just whenever you can. Call Sylvia Eagono at with any questions. Supplee Youth Group - SYG is offered for all students in 6-12 grade. It provides students with unique experiences, biblical teaching, challenges, fellowship, fun and games. We invite you to join our Sunday night meetings and other activities. Check the calendar for details. Deacons Project - Whosoever Gospel Mission Please continue to drop off used plastic grocery bags, like those from Wawa and Giant (for reuse in Whosoever's thrift stores), in the collection box in the Narthex. Also, the mission has a great need for volunteer tutors in grade school and high school subjects to help rehabilitate the men. The commitment is one hour a week for ten weeks. Call Heather Rice at for more information or to volunteer. Whosoever Gospel Mission Please see the insert in today s bulletin. We have learned that Whosoever Gospel Mission is experiencing a significant funding shortfall for their fiscal year ending 09/30/2018, primarily due to the loss of a large grant ($86,500), they were expecting. There is currently a matching contribution program available to Supplee Church members and their friends for donations made between now and September 26, 2018, matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. If you would like to make a donation, please make your check payable to Whosoever Gospel Mission and either place your donation in the offering plate or give your donation to Adrienne in the church office. These donations will then be forwarded to Whosoever Gospel Mission. 5 Upcoming Fellowship Events: 1. Ice Cream Social - It's almost time for our annual Ice Cream Social. It will be on Sunday, September 9 th at 6:00 p.m., rain or shine. Plan to join us for ice cream and toppings and a time of fellowship courtesy of the Fellowship Committee. 2. Sponge-ism Art Class - Back by popular demand! This time we will be creating a fall-themed painting. This class will be held on Saturday morning, September 29th. Join us for coffeecake, Danish, bagels, fruit, coffee and tea at 9:30 a.m. Art class will be from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Leave with a finished work of art!! Cost is $5 per person which covers the lesson and all needed supplies. Regardless of art experience or talent, anyone can create artwork that was painted entirely with sponges! A new, fun, easy technique that allows you to be creative and brings out your inner artist. Appropriate for ages 14 and up. We can accommodate 20 people. Colebrookdale Railroad Trip - All aboard the Autumn Splendor Fall Foliage ride and lunch on the Colebrookdale Railroad! On Saturday, October 13 at 2:30 p.m. see the best foilage in Pennsylvania! Experience spectacular autumn colors and the rich fragrances of fall in the Secret Valley, and enjoy lunch on the train. It's a two-hour round trip departing and arriving in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. We have the Supplee bus reserved and plan to leave church at 1:00 p.m. Price is $45 per person and includes lunch. We have 20 tickets available.
