Join us for the hilarious Christmas classic, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," presented by the Piedmont Players Theatre, Inc., at the Norvell Theater in Salisbury, NC on December 12, We will leave the church at 11:30 am, have lunch, and travel to Salisbury for the matinee performance. In this delightful comedy, a couple struggles to put on a church pageant and is faced with casting the Herdman kids--probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You will enjoy the mahem--and the fun--when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!! Cost is $10.00 per person and deadline to register and pay is December 1. We will present this opportunity on three Sundays from December 6 through December 20. The money collected will be divided and presented before Christmas. ANGEL TREE: It s that time again! The Angel Trees are in the narthex and west wing lobby. The angel tags are labeled boy or girl. You can choose a gift for any age you like, infant through 16 years old (no clothes, please). Please return your gifts UNWRAPPED by December 13. The Angel Tree Project is sponsored by The Discovery Class. Join us Sundays for relaxed discussions of contemporary issues in a loving environment. PICTORIAL DIRECTORY UPDATE: Many families missed having their picture taken for the new directory. If you have a suitable picture you would like to submit, the deadline for me to receive these pictures is December 1 st. It is best for the picture to be vertical, rather than horizontal. Call Karen at LIVE NATIVITY SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12: While you re driving through the community or headed to the UMM s Christmas Breakfast in the Evening, stop by the front lawn to enjoy the Catalyst Youth s portrayal of the greatest gift ever given! There will be three showings of the Live Nativity: 4:30, 5:30 & 7:30pm. If you would like to help behind the scenes, contact Emily in the church office. CHILDREN S SPONTANEOUS CHRISTMAS PAGEANT: Sunday, December 13, 9:45 am during the Sunday School hour. Come one, come all (from 1 to 100)!!! You are invited to participate in the Christmas pageant about the birth of Baby Jesus! We are moving the pageant to the morning, so we expect so many more bright, smiling faces! No practice is necessary for this event. Come enjoy Christmas carols, acting, and lots of good fellowship! Please come and enjoy a warm Advent morning here at LUMC! WANT TO HELP SOME FRIENDS? A site has been established for folks wishing to sign up to provide a meal for The Hayes family (Mike, June, Jackson, Emma, and Ava) while they deal with recent health concerns. Matthew 25:35-40 HEALING SERVICE: There will be a Healing and Wholeness Service with Holy Communion, prayers for healing for all who wish to participate, anointing with oil, and laying on of hands on Sunday, December 20 at 7:00pm in the sanctuary. Dr. Peden will preside. All are welcome to attend. We all are in need of some kind of healing whether it be physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, or relational. Come and be part of this more intentional healing ministry as the Body of Christ!
