Pope John XXIII is asking new and current volunteers to sign or re-sign up for the many opportunities to share their talents. Updated volunteer booklets and sign -up forms are available at all the exits. HOPE Appeal 2018 Volunteering is a work of the heart Our parish campaign for the HOPE Appeal is under way with returns of 268 pledges and donations of $47,452. Our parish goal is $54,202.All parishioners are urged to participate to the level they are able as the goal is really an assessment. The parish will have to pay the difference between the goal and our pledges and donations. Pledge envelopes should be returned in the collection or by mail.

4 Page Four Pope John XXIII Church, Liverpool, New York July 29, 2018 Safe Environment for Our Children Attention: Pope John XXIII Parishioners Did you know students from Pre-K to Grade 12 in our Catholic Schools and Faith Formation programs receive Safe Environment training every year as required by the diocesan Child and Youth Protection Policy? Our Safe Environment training addresses each grade level with age appropriate curriculum to help our children and youth with knowledge that can help keep themselves safe while providing this instruction that is fully consistent with the moral teachings of the Catholic Church. Last year, over 16, 000 students received training throughout the diocese. Parents are reminded that children must always be accompanied by an adult if they leave the worship area during Mass. Please be aware this is a public building and this policy is enforced for the safety of the children. Thank You! Men in Black Vocations Softball Game Please join priests and seminarians from the Diocese of Syracuse as they take on a team from Holy Family Church, Syracuse at the Annual Men in Black Vocations Softball Game, on Sunday, July 29th at Shove Park in Camillus! The game begins at 5:30 PM at the ball field closest to Whedon Rd (just down the road from Holy Family Church in Fairmount). This is a family friendly event - we hope to see you there during the Special Year of the Family in the Diocese of Syracuse.
