1 360 Student Leadership Application Page friends! Thanks so much for taking an interest in 360 SL (Student Leadership). Hopefully you ve already heard me cast a little bit of the vision of what we want this part of our ministry to look like and accomplish. Our adult leaders are ready and excited to help equip and encourage you in your pursuit of growing closer to Christ as well as making an impact in the lives of your peers. There are so many students in our community that need the intentional love and care of Jesus followers, and we hope that is your heartbeat and passion. One of our key reasons for developing an SL team is to influence the influencers. You ll hear that a lot, and if you are applying to be an SL chances are you may consider yourself an influencer. Our hope is that as we partner together, we can leverage the impact made in the lives of others for the sake of God s kingdom. I m so excited to begin this journey. Many of you indicated through Spy Kidz or at Omega this year that you want to step up, you want to do more you want to lead. This isn t the only way to do that at 360. Of course you can lead through example and action. But we hope that the SL team will be at the forefront of 360, ready to do everything we can to make the biggest impact for Christ. Please take this application process seriously. Talk with your parents or other spiritual mentors about it. Pray and ask God for guidance about your decision. There are a few aspects: sections asking for typed answers, a peer and adult reference section, and a leadership assessment test. You have until September 20 to turn in the application, and we will make final decision by September 27. I look forward to what God has in store for this team! 2 360 Student Leadership Application Page 2 Mission of Student Leadership: To encourage, train, and equip 360 student leaders through mentoring, challenging, and inspiring them to have the biggest impact for Christ, especially through our student ministry environment. SL Requirements*: A current 10th, 11th, or 12th grader Participate as often as possible in 360 Sunday Night and CORE Small Groups Participate as often as possible in 360 events and retreats Regularly attend Minooka Bible Church and Weekend Services Serve in some capacity at Minooka Bible Church Connect once a month for 1-hour meeting with an SL Coach Attend monthly SL Meetings (Before 360) 360 at 5:45 PM each week for prayer and setup *Choosing to ignore requirements once on SL may result in dismissal from the team.

3 360 Student Leadership Application Page 3 Student Leader Elements SL Coach Each Student Leader will be assigned a coach who s goal is to provide encouragement, support, and accountability. You will be expected to touch base weekly with your coach, as well as meet for 1 hour once a month. Development Plan (DP) Each SL will have a personal DP that includes Scripture, a leadership book, and a leadership article. It is expected that these tools are to be used at your own pace, but to be discusses in your meetings with your SL Coach. Monthly Meetings Once a month we ll gather as a whole team for training, encouragement, and evaluation. We will also share a meal at these meetings. Weekly Prayer and Encouragement Each regular 360 night, student leaders are expected to arrive at 5:45 PM for prayer and to help with any program setup that may be needed that night. We also expect student leaders to be the friendliest, most welcoming students at 360, and so it s important for them to be there when other students arrive. Challenge Student leaders will be challenged to grow in various ways. This may include: sharing your testimony, leading a devotional, inviting new people, reaching out to fringe students, hosting a party for some underclassmen we ll mix it up and brainstorm ideas that will both challenge us and contribute to the health of our group.

5 360 Student Leadership Application Page 5 Student Leader Covenant Being a Student Leader is a serious responsibility and privilege. As part of that, you are asked to agree to each statement below. Please initial after each one, indicating that you ve read and agreed to them: Relationship with God: I will make my personal relationship with God the number one priority in my life. I will seek to grow by spending time daily with God, meeting with my SL Coach regularly, and surrounding myself with people who challenge my faith. Godly Lifestyle: I understand that how I lead my personal life will greatly affect my ability to lead. I will be careful to remain pure in relationships as well as avoid destructive behavior such as inappropriate alcohol, tobacco, drug, and pornography uses. Attend All SL Monthly Meetings: I am committing to attend all team meetings. If I have an unavoidable conflict I will contact my SL coach at least one week before the meeting. I understand that if I miss meetings without notice I may be asked to step down. Regular Involvement in 360: I understand that as an SL I need to regularly attend 360 functions, including CORE, events, and retreats. Personal Development: I realize that SL is focused on helping me develop as a leader, and commit to the work necessary to becoming a better leader. Sacrifice for Others: I understand that I will be asked to sacrifice for others as a leader. I will make that sacrifice willingly. Defend the Team: I will never talk badly about any other member of the SL team. I will keep all problems within the confines of the team and commit to working them out. Pursuit of Excellence: I am willing to pursue excellence in all I do as a student leader. Commitment I understand and will do my best to fulfill the expectations required of a SL in 360. I fell God is leading me to pursue serving and caring for students as part of this leadership team. As a representative of Minooka Bible Church, I am willing to be accountable to our church s leadership.
