2 Announcements Ladies Art Night This will be a fun and colorful event as you turn a 16 x 20 canvas into your unique work of art. On Friday, January 12, our own resident artist and TCA art teacher, Meredith Vanni, will guide you step by step in creating your own personal masterpiece! Drinks and refreshments will be served. Cost: $20/person. If you have never attended a ladies ministry event before, the cost will be $10, so bring a friend! You can pre-register by signing up at the Welcome Center or by contacting Celeste Parkinson. We will have a registration table set up in the foyer today. All fees will be due that day to complete your registration and reserve your spot. Men s Prayer Breakfast Our monthly Men s Prayer Breakfast is on Saturday, January 20, at 8:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Men, make a point of fellowshipping, praying, and developing Biblical goals for you, your family, and the church. Enjoy the breakfast for $3. Invite someone else to come with you! 2018 Evangelistic Meetings Begin praying for our evangelistic meetings with Evangelist Mark Herbster on January Sunday through Wednesday will be directed to the church as a whole. Thursday will be Teen Night while Friday will target college age men and women. Expect God to do great things! More details coming soon. Chinese New Year Outreach Mark your calendar for our upcoming Chinese New Year dinner and celebration on Friday, February 9 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. Our events have received overwhelmingly positive responses from the local Asian community and have enabled us to build many relationships to share Christ. Hundreds came to each event and heard the Gospel. We now have an ongoing Asian ministry Bible study and English lessons. Preparation and planning are well underway, and invitation cards will be made available soon please considering who you can invite and be praying for God to prepare hearts of those who attend.
3 PMDiscipleship Classes Classes Begin Next Sunday (January 14) Several PMDiscipleship classes are available to help you fulfill the Great Commission and grow closer to the Lord. All of the classes have a $5 cost to cover the material. Sign up at the Welcome Center. Contact Pastor Todd Tjepkema for additional details or questions concering the classes. Discipleship Pastor Todd Tjepkema A-278 A practical study of sanctification emphasizing the significance and methods of personally knowing God, dealing with sin, and growing in Christlikeness. We were created to have a personal love relationship with our Creator. This class provides the means by which to grow closer to God and how to get to know Him better. Understanding Mormonism Pastor Nathan Mestler & Troy Gardner A-273 This PMD class will focus on the basic information that you need to reach our LDS friends and neighbors with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The class will include an overview of LDS history and theology, testimonies and insight from former Mormons, and practical tips and guidance for reaching out and presenting the gospel to Mormons. Our hope is that when you are done with the class that you will feel equipped and confident to share the liberating gospel of grace with our LDS friends and neighbors. Hymn Reading for Everyone Pastor Dave Stertzbach A-156 This class is for everyone who has ever wanted to learn the secret code of music. Pastor Stertzbach assumes no prior music training. You will learn to follow the notes and rhythms in the hymnal to make learning new songs easier. Folks with some prior music training will enjoy the refresher course, and probably learn something new. The class will be both informative and fun, using Pastor Stertzbach s inimitable style of edu-tainment. Memorizing God's Word in 2018! Week One: John 3:16 (NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
4 Care & Share Groups Week of January 7, 2018 Welcome What is your favorite memory from the recent holiday season? Worship Psalm 42:1-4. Take a few minutes to praise the Lord. Share the blessings of God in your life! Honor Him by sharing His greatness. Pray for one another! Word Galatians 5:16-21, James 3: What does Pastor Mike mean when he says, The Spirit s filling can be tested? Why is the test not the ultimate importance of spirituality? How can you examine yourself without becoming depreseed and discouraged? John 15:1-6. What does Pastor Mike mean when he says, The Spirit s filling can be faked without one even knowing they are faking it? Why do you think it is so easy to live as a Christian, but not be a Spirit-filled Christian? How can you gain a deeper sensitivity to staying connected to the Vine? Romans 8:5-8. What does Pastor Mike mean when he says, The Spirit s filling is THE necessary ingredient for pleasing God? Why do you believe Scripture teaches that God only accepts those who seek and depend on His filling? How can you stay connected to the Vine so you continue to experience the filling of the Spirit? Witness One that is filled with the Spirit will have the compassion of Christ on those around them. They will see people as needing the great Shepherd! Is that your passion? 8 Tuition Tax Credit Tuition Tax Credit The end of the year is here! Please do not forget to take advantage of the Tuition Tax Credit. If you re new to Tri-City, you might not be familiar with this incredible program. Singles are allowed to redirect up to $1,089 ($546 in the Original program and the overflow in the PLUS Switcher of $543). Married couples can redirect up to $2,177 ($1,092 in the Original program and the overflow in the PLUS Switcher of $1,085). All Arizona workers owe state taxes. Arizona allows singles and married couples to redirect their state tax dollars to a tuition tax credit organization like TOPS for Kids. Donors take the donated money as a credit against the Arizona state taxes they owe when they file their state tax returns. Donors can recommend private schools or students they would like the money to go to. If left blank, the funds go to help low-income families with education costs. It is one of the biggest ministries to our Tri-City Christian Academy families! If able, please give by January 15 which helps with this year s school bills. Go to for more information and to redirect your state tax dollars. facebook.com/ TriCityBaptistMinistries 2211 W Germann Rd Chandler, AZ (480) info@tricityministries.org TriCityMinistries.org If you have personal needs, requests, or blessings you wish to share with the pastoral staff, please send them to info@tricityministries.org.
