God not only saves, but He makes holy those souls who receive His word, His entire work. Each one of us is able to become a saint, if he makes the brave decision to respond to the word of God and to put it into practice. Then, it is as if God says to him: You will obey, will bow down, and will follow; my Spirit will take care of the rest. We ought only to accept His grace, so that He can make us the way that He wants, i.e., make us saints. And in the struggle to submit ourselves to the Lord, we have the saints to encourage us with their lives and their own struggling. 1 We warmly welcome all of our visitors! 4 Announcements Please, if you have an information to the bulletin submit it till Thursday 11:00 AM. After June, 10 the next bulletin will be July 14. If you have an information for the bulletin, submit it, please, till June, 7. From June 12 till July 9 Fr. Ihor will leave to Ukraine. We will not have daily Liturgies at that time. So, if you would like to offer Liturgy, please, plane it before or after. If you would like to have Liturgy at this period of time and you don t mind, Fr. Ihor can serve it in Ukraine and write it in the bulletin. A priest s information, whom to contact for emergencies (funerals, spiritual needs) will be given later. 4 Security Surveillance Camera Fund Raiser project: On behalf of the Parish, we want to thank those who donated money for Video and Security System (20.05): George & Bernice Gregorash 100$ Edwardn & Frances Yaskiw 100$ Thanks to your generous donations we have already collected 4, 750$! We need 6,000$ Church Custodians for May are Sam & Sylvia Szwaluk, Brenda&Bill Morant, Kevin Szwaluk. Please feel free to volunteer a few hours a week for one month of this 2018 year to enhance our church interior. Choose the month which will be covenient for you and your family. Book early to avoid disappointment. I hope I don t have to wait too long for your call. Sonia Wawryk Church Cleaning Chair Starting on Sunday, June 10, the Choir will be singing Divine Liturgy responses from The Divine Liturgy, an Anthology for Worship. The responses will sound similar but different in places. We hope you ll enjoy our new sound and sing along! Our next practices are on Mondays, May 28 and June 4, 7:30-8:45 pm. 6 The contemporary world proposes many different directions, courses, books and rules; how a person should behave in diverse situations, with different people, react to these or other events. However, every situation in our life is unique and filled with events and feelings which never existed and which will never repeat themselves. We cannot foresee anything to the end, and thereby even more, to prepare ourselves perfectly. Frequently, such circumstances emerge, that we don t know how to react. If we live in Christ, united with God, then we can bring fort good fruit, wherever the Creator might place us. When we are with the Lord, there is no fear, whatever the circumstances or people around us may be. The Lord will always give us to understand how we are to act. Specifically, this abiding in God gives us the certitude to be at peace and calm in whatever circumstances, with all types of people, in the midst of all kinds of events! Most Reverend Venedykt 6

7 Prayer Vigil June is upon us and the start of summer and the vacation season, it s the end of our Columbian year and we have several activities this month. I would like to start with saying our final perogy supper for this year was once again successful and thank you to all who assisted in putting it together for this past year without the help from everyone we would not be as successful as we are. The knights once again will host another Welcome Home supper to be enjoyed by all on Thursday May 31, 2018, thank you to all who assisted with this supper. We have our regular business meeting on June 7, 2018 starting at 6:45 pm with Divine Liturgy. We have our annual Spiritual Baby Shower and Pancake breakfast on Sunday June 3, Finishing with our Knights wind up later in the month for our brother knights and their wives and widows. We will be contacting fellow knights on this. Thank you again to all fellow knights and wives for another successful year for our council here at St. Basil s parish. I would once again like to thank everyone from knights their wives, parishioners, and friends of the parish who came out to enjoy our events throughout the year.
