Childcare is available in the Nursery. If you have children who become restless, you may view the service with televisions in the Atrium, Library and Infant Room. So lean in and hear God s words of life for you, our community and the world! Prelude Clair de Lune from Pieces de Fanstasie, Suite II, Op. 53, #5 Louis Vierne Hymn Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven praise, my soul We gather in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen 2
Proclamation of Praise I will exalt you, O God my Creator. And bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you And praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised! There is no end to the Lord s greatness. I will ponder the glorious splendor of your majesty And all your marvelous works. Hymn Break Now the Bread of Life bread of life 3
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. Prayer of the Day Gracious God, your blessed Son came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world. Give us this bread, that he may live in us and we in him, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen Anthem O Day Full of Grace O day full of grace that we behold, Now gently to view ascending, Thou over the earth thy reign unfold Good cheer to all mortal lending, That children of light in every clime May prove that the night is ending. How blest was that gracious midnight hour, When God in our flesh was given; Then flushed the dawn with light and power, That spread o er the darkened heaven. Then rose o er the earth that sun divine Which gloom from our hearts had driven. F. Melius Christiansen Vox Nova Chorale Yea, were every tree endowed with speech, And every leaflet singing, They never His worth could reach, Though earth with their praise be ringing. Who fully could praise the light of life Who light to our souls is bringing. Praise the Lord! With joy we depart for our Father land And there we shall walk in endless light. Lesson Philippians 4:11-13, Not that I am referring to being in need; for I have learned to be content with whatever I have. I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the profit that accumulates to your account. I have been paid in full and have more than enough; I am fully satisfied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 4 WE INVITE CHILDREN TO DOCK AT THIS TIME Please make sure your child is wearing a nametag with name and grade level. ************* See FRONT OF INSERT for Pickup Locations **************
Anthem Hark! I Hear the Harps Resounding Hark, I hear the harps resounding! Christ is near, we hear them say. Cast aside the work of darkness, all you children of the day. Alleluia, alleluia, Glory to the great I AM! Comfort, comfort now my people; tell of peace! So says our God. Comfort those who toil and tremble, mourning under sorrow s load. Alleluia, alleluia, praise the Lamb! Alleluia, alleluia, Glory to the great I AM! Come, thou long expected Jesus, born to set thy people free; from our fears and sins release us; let us find our hope in Thee. Born thy people to deliver, born a child, and yet a King; born to live in us forever, now thy gracious kingdom bring. Alleluia, alleluia, praise the Lamb! Alleluia, alleluia, Glory to the great I AM! Craig Carnahan Vox Nova Chorale Psalm 46:1-5 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved; God will help it when the morning dawns. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Sacrament of Holy Baptism 9:00 Aubrey Lynn Deans Child of Amanda and Shawn Deans Wesley Max Skoge Child of Nicole and Gregory Skoge 5
Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen Hymn We Are Called we are called 6 Continued on next page
Used with permission, One License A Holy Gospel Mark 8:1-10 Glory to you, O Lord. In those days when there was again a great crowd without anything to eat, Jesus called his disciples and said to them, I have compassion for the crowd, because they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way and some of them have come from a great distance. His disciples replied, How can one feed these people with bread here in the desert? He asked them, How many loaves do you have? They said, Seven. Then he ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground; and he took the seven loaves, and after giving thanks he broke them and gave them to his disciples to distribute; and they distributed them to the crowd. They had also a few small fish; and after blessing them, he ordered that these too should be distributed. They ate and were filled; and they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full. Now there were about four thousand people. And he sent them away. And immediately he got into the boat with his disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha. Praise to you, O Christ.
