1 Palm Sunday the Passion the Lord March 29, :45 am Basilica the Sacred Heart University Notre Dame Notre Dame, Indiana
2 The Introductory Rites Commemoration the Lord's Entrance into Jerusalem The congregation is invited to sing the antiphon after it has been sung by the choir: Ho - san - na di - mi - ne el: ctus Do - mi - ni; fi - li - o Da - vid Ho - san - na qui ve - nit Rex Is - in mode VII be - ne - in no - ra - ex - cel - sis. Greeting Blessing Branches Hosanna to the Son David! Blest is he who comes in the name the Lord! O King Israel, Hosanna in the highest! Gospel Account the Lord s Entrance into Jerusalem Mark 11: 1-10 Procession Ich Glaub an Gott To Jesus Christ, our sov'reign King, who is the world's salvation, All praise and homage do we bring and thanks and adoration. Refrain Christ Jesus, Victor! Christ Jesus, Ruler! Christ Jesus, Lord and Redeemer! Your reign extend, O King benign, to ev'ry land and nation; For in your Kingdom, Lord divine, alone we find salvation. (refrain) To you and to your church, great King, we pledge our heart's oblation; Until before your throne we sing in endless jubilation. (refrain)
3 Crown him with many crowns, the Lamb upon his throne! Hark! How the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own. Awake, my soul and sing him who set us free, hail him as your heavenly King, through all eternity. Crown him the Lord life, Who triumphed o'er the grave, rose victorious in the strife For those he came to save. His glories now we sing, Who died and rose on high, Who died, eternal life to bring, lives that death may die. Crown him the Lord love, behold his hands and side, Rich wounds yet visible above in beauty glorified. No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight, But downward bends his burning eye at mysteries so bright. Crown him the Lord peace, Whose power a scepter sways From pole to pole, that wars may cease, Absorbed in prayer and praise. His reign shall know no end, round his pierced feet Fair flowers Paradise extend Their fragrance ever sweet. Diademata At the name Jesus Ev ry knee shall bow, Ev ry tongue confess him King glory now; Tis the Father s pleasure We should call him Lord, Who from the beginning Was the mighty Word. Humbled for a season To receive a name From the lips sinners Unto whom he came, Faithfully he bore it, Spotless to the last, Brought it back victorious When through death he passed. Bore it up triumphant With its human light, Through all ranks creatures, To the central height, To the throne Godhead, To the Father s breast; Filled it with the glory Of that perfect rest. Name him, Christians, name him - Strong your love as death - But with awe and wonder, with lifefilled breath; He is God the Savior, He is Christ the Lord, Ever to be worshipped, Evermore adored. In your hearts enthrone him; There let him subdue All that is not holy, All that is not true: Crown him as your Captain In temptation's hour; Let his will enfold you In its light and power. Kings Weston
