FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION Registration is now in progress for children in grades 1-12 from Catholic Day, Home, and Public Schools and for those preparing for the sacraments of First Confession, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. REGISTRATIONS DUE MAY 11TH, WISH LIST -1 CD player -used or new Bible stands for classrooms TOTUS TUUS YOUTH MISSION - REGISTRATION It's time to register and/or volunteer for our Totus Tuus youth mission held on June 10th - 15th for children entering 1st grade through graduating Seniors. Please check parish websites for times for the mission. ***SEPARATE PAYMENT MUST BE MADE FOR THE T-SHIRTS (MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO MOUNT TABOR CENTER FOR THE T-SHIRTS). VOLUNTEERS NEED: Teen volunteers for Monday through Friday (8:30am-2:30pm) Adult and teen volunteers for the Pot Luck Dinner on Wednesday, June 13th (4:30-6:30pm) Five families to provide lunch for 6 adults, through Friday (lunches can be brought to the BWC in the morning or anytime before noon each day; no need for beverages; two families can plan for one lunch if that is more convenient.) 5 FROM FR. JOE After Holy Week, I visited with friends in Savannah Georgia and with an Aunt and Uncle in Birmingham Alabama. It was great being with old friends and family, but it is good to be back! Rather belatedly, let me thank everyone for making this Holy Week an especially grace filled experience. For the first time since my appointment as pastor of Cathedral and St. John's I was able to gather with all my parishioners on Holy Thursday and for the Easter Vigil. I was happy to hear from those who have experienced these services in the past that the numbers were up. The Easter Vigil celebration was especially moving as we baptized and confirmed three Catechumens and confirmed two Candidates from St. John's and Cathedral. It was a very meaningful celebration for both of my parish families. I want to extend a special thank you to Tom and Ann Vorpahl who have volunteered to head up the RCIA program for both my parishes. Under their leadership, this important ministry continues to grow. As we continue to celebrate the Easter season, I have a favor to ask. Please ask the Holy Spirit to bring forth more unbaptized adults to be Catechumens at next year's Easter Vigil and also Candidates, those who are baptized but not yet confirmed in the Catholic faith. Actively seek them out. Ask the Holy Spirit to point them out to you. And then bring them to me. Having Catechumens and Candidates for the Easter Vigil is very dear to our Bishop and myself and a wonderful grace of encouragement and new life for our parishes. May the Lord bless each of you with new life during this 50 day season of grace. ~Fr. Joe YOUR OPINION MATTERS! The Rosary in the garden will be starting soon, (second or third) week in May!
