People: Touched by the breath of life. Leader: The waters of love wash over us. People: The Heavens open and the Holy Spirit descends upon us. Leader: The waters of blessing pour over us. People: And God calls us beloved. *Gathering Song Come to the Waters * Call to Confession * Prayer of Confession We are so obsessed with the Must Haves of this world. We are so bound up by these desires that we feel like we are drowning and unable to catch our breath. We are challenged by Christ to Come Up and journey with him. But we don t feel ready. We complain and cry about how much we have to do. Forgive us, Lord, when we place so many obstacles in the path making it difficult to serve you. Reset our priorities so that we will be

3 open to commit our lives in your service. Lord, help us to be ready when you call us. Unbind us so we are free to love and serve you. People: I believe in Christ Jesus, declared a beloved one like each of us, baptized in the waters of the Jordan. Leader: I believe in the Spirit who rested on Jesus like a dove, and who inspired him with such love as the world has not seen before or since. People: I believe that those who are baptized into Christ shall share this Spirit, this mission and this ultimate victory over sin and death. Leader: I believe there is no human ability that cannot be enlarged, and no weakness that cannot be used by Christ to the praise of God. People: I believe that this faith is a gift from God, for the building up of the church and for humble service in the world. ALL: With the help of God, I will attempt to live my belief all the days of my life, and by his grace, dwell in the house of the Lord forever. AMEN!
